Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4372 is to be kept in a standard Safe-class anomalous item locker. Testing is to be conducted by a D-class test subject under supervision from at least one researcher with level 2/4372 clearance, or by said researcher directly.

Description: SCP-4372 is a camera resembling a Polaroid SX-70 folding camera. SCP-4372 differs from similar cameras due to the QWERTY-style keyboard located on its bottom, with a small LCD screen found to display text input by the keyboard. When the keyboard is not utilized, SCP-4372 functions identically to other cameras of the same model. If a user types a string of text¹ on the keyboard and presses the enter key, the photo dispensed will match the given phrase. The screen exhibits a secondary anomaly wherein the screen will seem to lengthen as more text is input, though measurements consistently return identical results. SCP-4372 seems to be able to discern meanings of sentences. Details often vary, with the exact photo depending on the photographer. Phrases representing abstract concepts have returned varied results.

Special Containment Procedures

General Protocol: SCP-xxxx is currently partially uncontained. Foundation webcrawlers are to find and delete any references to SCP-xxxx where possible. A population of 25 SCP-xxxx-2 instances are to be contained within standard humanoid containment chambers, outfitted with properly-configured Scranton ontological stabilizers², at Containment Area xxxx and provided rations as necessary for each instance's increased caloric intake. All other known instances are to be neutralized³, with Task Forces ε-25⁴ (“Five Guys”) and Ω-12 (“Achilles's Heels”) being on call for this purpose. Concerted efforts are to be made to suppress SCP-xxxx-related ontokinesis via majority hash rate attacks⁵ to transfer as much SCP-xxxx-0 as possible to Foundation-controlled addresses and takeover of the SCP-xxxx mining⁶ industry via appropriation of Foundation-controlled cryptocurrency-mining server farms. Propaganda campaigns are to be used to arrest or slow the spread of SCP-xxxx-2 infection within anomalous communities or where reference deletion is infeasible. Due to barriers to direct application of economic disruption via nonsentient algorithms⁷, Foundation-controlled machine intelligence quintus.aic has been developed based on the AICv6 framework for the express purpose of conversion into an SCP-xxxx-2 instance and subsequent parallelization in order to enact economic disruption procedures.

SCP-xxxx-2 Neutralization Protocols: Personnel assigned to SCP-xxxx-2 neutralization are to follow standard ontokinetic human termination procedures, with classification of the relevant instance to be modified in relation to the instance’s current total of SCP-xxxx, as reported by quintus.aic. Personnel are advised to remain at least five meters from the instance’s head at the moment of expiration, so as to avoid the anatomical effects of rapid spatiotemporal reassertion, both on the personnel and the newly-neutralized instance’s skull.

Description

General Nature: SCP-xxxx is a memetic virus taking the form of a cryptocurrency, known as “Fifthcoin” within the anomalous community, created with the joint efforts of memeticists, metaphysicists⁸, conceptual engineers, and software developers based in Alberta, Canada, associated with a software development group known as “Fifth Computer Solutions, Ltd.”. SCP-xxxx-0 refers to any given value of currency under SCP-xxxx⁹, with a conversion rate roughly equal to US$5,555 to at any given time. SCP-xxxx is largely modeled after Bitcoin in its operation, with some differences. SCP-xxxx-1 is SCP-xxxx’s official website. SCP-xxxx-2 refers to all SCP-xxxx infectees, catalyzed by opting to “download” on SCP-xxxx-1.

Anomalous Properties: SCP-xxxx possesses subtle infohazardous properties, as any sapient being can access SCP-xxxx-1 despite its properties.

SCP-xxxx-1 has been found to not exist by Foundation webcrawlers. SCP-xxxx-1’s URL has not been registered on any domain name servers. Search engine results linking to SCP-xxxx-1 have been found to not exist via the use of Foundation-operated machine-learning algorithms meant to interpret the contents of websites, as well as inspection of underlying code of the relevant webpages. Despite this, SCP-xxxx-1 and related search results are visible to any sapient consciousness.

Human SCP-xxxx-2 instances have several physical alterations to their brains, including the development of five new lobes believed to serve various purposes, including random number generation, psionic transmissions, greatly improved mathematical calculation abilities compared to baseline humans, and eidetic long-term recall of an unknown maximum number of alphanumeric strings at least 128 characters in length each. Information on use is added as anomalous extension to the cerebellum, as are relevant hash-encoding and encryption/decryption algorithms. These are compressed into the skull via anomalous spatial distortion, which reverses upon complete cessation of biological functions, often causing cranial rupture. Caloric intake in each instance is substantially increased, due to additional cerebral mass. Machine intelligences¹⁰ show no alterations in underlying data, but display knowledge consistent with human SCP-xxxx-2 instances; relevant psionic transmissions originate from within servers running the machine intelligence. SCP-xxxx-2 psionic transmissions are unremarkable, outside of content, and for the purpose of facilitating transactions via the SCP-xxxx network. SCP-xxxx-2 instances are able to mine SCP-xxxx-0 similarly to in Bitcoin, i.e. via providing a compatible hash for a proof-of-work algorithm.

SCP-xxxx-2 instances are additionally capable of generating reality distortions, caused by the “sacrifice” of a value of SCP-xxxx-0. These "sacrifices" are recorded on the blockchain. SCP-xxxx-2-caused reality distortions scale with the amount of SCP-xxxx used, with one (1) unit of SCP-xxxx-0 being roughly equivalent in scale to the transmutative¹¹ manifestation of one (1) loaded submachine gun. Sufficiently large values of SCP-xxxx possessed by a singular SCP-xxxx-2 instance are theoretically capable of causing distortions rivalling those of Class Five ontokinetic entities.

SCP-xxxx-2 instances have been found to be compelled to share information about SCP-xxxx with friends, family, and other accomplices, as well as use amounts of SCP-xxxx for increasingly extravagant and culturally unaccepted purposes, up to and surpassing torture and/or murder of enemies. Analysis as to the possible anomalousness of these compulsions has proven inconclusive, though, in later stages of infection, SCP-xxxx-2 instances demonstrate various unusual behaviors, including slurred speech. History

Discovery: References to SCP-xxxx were first reported by members of the anomalous community as appearing on 2015/5/5. SCP-xxxx remained uncontained for a period of █ months. SCP-xxxx’s anomalous nature was first discovered when automated infohazard-counteraction systems flagged a Foundation researcher viewing and clicking on a blank page. The researcher subsequently became an SCP-xxxx-2 instance, setting off nearby breach alarms¹², and subsequently attempting to escape the site. Containment procedures were subsequently drafted and implemented. Relevant information follows.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5118 is to be contained in a sealed 125 gallon tank filled with a special solution of silver iodine (AgI) specially developed to contain SCP-5118. This tank is to be kept in a pressurized containment cell filled with thermally diffusive gases that does not have any form of electricity running in or out. That means it can't be connected to Site-15's main power grid to prevent containment breach. Remote electrical sensors with an output of under 100 watts are to be placed into the tank to monitor SCP-5118. Constant surveillance is to be maintained by a crew of 4 assigned units from MTF Delta-7.

Only approved Class D personnel, with permission granted by both a containment specialist and a researcher, Class A or above, may approach a designated area within SCP-5118's containment cell to collect energy samples or to execute repairs on the containment system.

In the event of a containment breach, MTF Delta-7 is to be alerted immediately to help contain SCP-5118. A deliberate site-wide power outage at Site 15 will take place as to allow the best chances at containment. An electricity resistant and heat cancelling mist made primarily out of pine dust, hard rubber, gaseous silver iodine imbued with thermally diffusive gases will be dispersed throughout the facility. Respirators are necessary once the mist is dispersed to reduce personnel harm. SCP-5118 is to be captured and transported using one of three certified magnetic resonators. Upon capture, SCP-5118 is to be returned directly to its containment cell within 5 minutes of its capture to prevent equipment failure.

Description: SCP-5118 is a non-sentient sentient being composed of red plasmatic electricity of supposed infinite voltage, capable of possessing anything using an electrical system, including but not limited to machinery, electrical wires, and humans. It's natural form is a constantly changing bolt of searing electrical energy. Thermal readings indicate a natural emission of 50 000 degrees Fahrenheit; the thermal output of a lightning bolt. However, readings during stages of agitation indicate that SCP-5118 can release 10 times it's regular heat, suggesting its heat depends mostly on its "emotional" state.

Data acquired during interviews indicate that SCP-5118 does not have a defined voltage. This indicates that it may be possible for SCP-5118 to have an unlimited energy potential, and could be used to power SCP facilities if the SCP in question is rendered dormant. File C for SCP-5118 revealed that it is unable to communicate in its natural form. As such, this means it needs to possess a host that is capable of vocalizing, such as a human being or a speech device. This also reveals a significant amount of intelligence in SCP-5118 due to its ability to understand and speak English and French with frightening fluidity. SCP-5118 is also capable of reading one's mind and see their memories and what they know.

SCP-5118 also appears to demonstrate lingering traits of possession time after initial possession. This trait was demonstrated in the apprehended interview subject of the interview in File B. Subject was later classified as SCP-5118-1, marked as safe. (See below for more information pertaining to SCP-5118-1). SCP-5118 also demonstrates a weakened, docile state when submerged and integrated in a sealed tank of liquid silver iodine (AgI). Magnetic fields allow for containment and transport as SCP-5118 is rendered inert when affected by a strong magnetic field, but can counteract the magnetic fields after 5 minutes because of it's natural defense: an EMP field. It is unknown why silver iodine weakens SCP-5118, nor why magetic fields affect the subject.

Description Following reports of a possible SCP, MTF Delta-7 has been deployed to ███ ████, ███ ████ following unconfirmed reports of an anomaly composed of red plasmatic electricity. Commander Ebbs of MTF Delta-7 deployed a sizable team of 42 units armed with sonic inducers to contain the SCP. The operation lasted for three hours and claimed the lives of 36 members of MTF Delta-7 and 10 234 civilian lives. Subject has been contained and delivered to Site-15 and classified as SCP-5118 and contained inside an isolated circuit of copper cables.

Casualties: 14 SCP personnel deaths
Description: SCP-5118 breached containment during revitalization of the liquid silver iodine solution. SCP-5118 escaped from the sealed tank and possessed agent Darwin, opening fire on three security guards present in the room. SCP-5118's containment breach was made evident when electrode sensors placed in the tank no longer read SCP-5118's electric signature. A team of 10 MTF Delta-7 units were deployed, and the site was placed on high alert. The main power grid was disconnected from the facility. SCP-5118 opened fire on incoming units. The mist was deployed throughout the facility, incapacitating SCP-5118 mid-air. MTF Delta-7 operative Joaquin Fox deployed the magnetic resonator and captured SCP-5118. Subject broke from the device after 5 minutes, cause unknown. Two more resonators were deployed during the capture and retrieval of SCP-5118, with one more resonator breaking, leaving only one operational. It was discovered here that the resonators fail after 5 minutes, giving only a 5 minute window to return SCP-5118 to containment.

Casualties: 3 SCP personnel deaths
Description: SCP-5118 escaped from containment during transfer to another sealed tank. SCP-5118 escaped during the transfer of the liquid silver iodine solution. SCP-5118 possessed one guard, killing two more guards using their weapons. SCP-5118 then attempted to possess another guard, failing in the process during diffusion of the mist. SCP-5118 was contained using a magnetic resonator and returned to containment within the confines of the tank.
Comments MTL Delta-7 agent Lyles Montana suffered major nerve damage and severe second and third degree burns throughout her body. Post mortem analysis revealed the internal organs and tissue were beyond repair. Agent Lyles Montana later succumbed to her injuries after a three minute interval.

Casualties: 19 SCP personnel death
Description: SCP-5118 escaped containment during an interview with sgt. Madison Robbie to determine if SCP-5118 could become a viable energy source. SCP-5118 reportedly became "very angry", shouting obscenities at the sergeant and killing her violently. Attempts were made to capture SCP-5118 through magnetic ejection, mist dispersal and facility wide power shutdown. The magnetic ejection succeeded in expunging SCP-5118 from its robotic host from the interview, but was not able to be weakened by the mist quickly enough to be weakened. SCP-5118 chained from one agent to another, killing them instantly and incinerating their flesh and possessing one more agent. SCP-5118 killed Dr. Kevin Pilote after being called at, killing the doctor in a blind rage with a combat knife and returned to containment willingly using the body it is currently possessing. SCP-5118 has remained docile ever since.

Addendum 2 As of 11/18/2019, Dr. Kevin Pilote was terminated by SCP-5118 during a containment breach. Dr. Pilote was willingly attempting to stop the subject, but was killed during it's frenzy. SCP-5118 expressed remorse upon his murder. Causes for this are unknown, but theories are that the doctor treated the specimen fairly and as a human, rather than a cold monster. SCP-5118 then willingly left its host and returned to its containment cell and remained inactive for several days to come. Dr. Jemma Stone has been appointed as lead researcher for SCP-5118's research team.
