Crazy Noisy Bizarre Town (placeholder name lol)

Item #: SCP-5000
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Seeing as a psychic resistance value of 17.4 is extremely rare and almost impossible to achieve for non trained personnel, SCP-5000 is effectively self containing. The media and internet at large is to be monitored for individuals who could fall under the category of having a psychic resistance value of 17.4 or higher. In the rare case that such an individual is found, they are to be brought in for a psychic screening to evaluate their psychic resistance value. If their psychic resistance value is equal to or exceeds 17, ██████ are to be administered. Afterwards they are to be administered Class A amnestics and be released from Foundation custody.

Description: SCP-5000 is the town of ████ since approximately November 2017. The town has, since then, become undetectable for most creatures. The exact reasons for this are as of yet unknown. Only humans with a psychic resistance of over 17.4 are capable of observing the town. People with a psychic resistance value of under 17.4 are not aware of its existence and are unable to learn about it even when looking at maps or other information regarding it. Roads leading into the town are also completely invisible to everyone without proper psychic resistance.

Should a person without proper psychic resistance be brought into the town, they will suffer a headache and extreme disorientation, as their brain can not process the existence of the town they are in. Prolonged exposure can lead to permanent brain damage.
Inhabitants of SCP-5000 consist of SCP-5000-1, SCP-5000-2 and SCP-5000-A. All of them, except for SCP-5000-A, share one property: They are completely oblivious to the outside of the town. Similarly to how outsiders can not perceive SCP-5000, inhabitants can not perceive anything outside of it. This is not the case for outsiders coming into the town, as documented above.

SCP-5000-1 are humans that have lived in SCP-5000 since before November 2017. They are, at all times, slightly hostile towards outsiders, being generally uncooperative and sometimes insulting them without provocation. They themselves can't seem to explain why, as they believe that they come from inside the town, seeing as how they have no concept of outside of SCP-5000. Attempts to remove them from SCP-5000 yields the same results as a person without a psychic resistance value of 17.4 entering SCP-5000. They are not anomalous in and of themselves, but have been affected by either SCP-5000, SCP-5000-A or both.

SCP-5000-2 are a number of anomalous objects within SCP-5000. Said objects often appear as regular household items with added anomalous properties, often “designed” to be helpful and enhance their original functionality. Attempting to remove any SCP-5000-2 Objects from SCP-5000 causes them to lose their anomalous properties. A few of the objects discovered are:

  • An iron capable or ironing all clothes within a 2 meter radius by merely being turned on
  • A ball that automatically returns when thrown
  • A hammer that automatically homes in on a nail when one is nearby
  • Several pens and pencils that never run out of ink or graphite
  • A Beretta 92 pistol that shoots .50 Caliber bullets despite being loaded with 9mm ammunition
  • Several pairs of glasses that adjust to the wearers eyesight
  • Chewing gum that releases Cyanide into the consumers body, killing them. This is item is not anomalous, but was also reported to originate from "the workshop"

Inhabitants of SCP-5000 claim these Objects come from "the workshop", but when questioned, fail to elaborate on any specifics. It is currently unknown if the workshop exists. SCP-5000-1 instances also claim to work in the workshop, but have never been observed going to work.

SCP-5000-A is Class 3 Reality Bender. Though its appearance may vary, SCP-5000-A generally takes the appearance of a middle aged caucasian male wearing a suit and tie and a Livery collar. SCP-5000-A has expressed that it wishes to be referred to as "the mayor", and refuses to reveal its real name. It is unknown if SCP-5000-A is the reason for the towns anomalous properties, was attracted by the towns anomalous properties, or was created in it. It is generally believed that SCP-5000-A is the cause for SCP-5000's anomalous properties. SCP-5000-A's origin and exact history with the foundation are unknown.

Unlike SCP-5000-1 instances, SCP-5000-A is aware of the outside of SCP-5000 and is not affected by its memetic restrictions. This furthers the believe that SCP-5000-A is the cause for SCP-5000.
