Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCPXXXX is to be kept at Statue Central Park Garden, under the guise of a statue garden. Attempts to keep SCPXXXX secluded in Foundation custody have all resulted in failure and a loss of personnel after a period of 7 days. Non-anomalous statues are to be arranged throughout the park, to divert specific attention from SCPXXXX instances. # Security personnel are to be stationed at the park under the guise of a park staff. There are to be "No Photography" and "Keep Off Grass" signs posted throughout the premises.

Ropes affixed at waist and knee height to short cement pillars are to create paths for civilians to follow at their own pace. Rope barriers should be no less than 6 meters from any statue in order to create a 1 meter "safe zone" of grass. If any civilians attempts to enter the grass areas beyond the rope, security personnel are to verbally prevent the civilian from doing so. At no point shall personnel approach anyone that has successfully breached the rope barrier. Other barriers used in the past, including chain-link fence and glass, have failed in all circumstances due to accelerated decay.

At least 100 people unaffiliated with the Foundation must directly view any instance of SCPXXXX in a 7 day period in order to prevent event SCPXXXX-2 from occuring. How SCPXXXX identifies Foundation knowledge is currently unknown.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a series of assorted statues that resemble different forms of life on Earth. The tallest and shortest recorded heights are 3.1 meters and 0.5 meters respectively. To date, the following SCPXXXX instances have been observed:

  • # different species of birds
  • # dogs
  • # house cats
  • # rodents
  • # assorted flowers (native and non-native)
  • # (any other standard wildlife that a regular person might not take note of when taking a picture?)
  • # humans

(camera invented in 1816 according to google, so 200 years - time in Foundation control. More research required for when portable cameras were widely used)

Viewing or photographing SCPXXXX from a distance of 5 meters or more has no anomalous effects. However, anyone within a 5 meter radius from an SCPXXXX instance will immediately become an instance of SCPXXXX-1. Instance of SCPXXXX-1 will perform the following actions:

  • Attempt to get any present acquaintances to follow it into the 5 meter radius. This includes verbal requests or physically pulling. (anything out of the ordinary happen once?) Pets will almost always be brought into SCPXXXX's area of affect if present. Notably, dogs will actively resist entering SCPXXXX's active area but are equally affected.
  • Human instances of will produce a device capable of taking pictures from a storage compartment found on their person. A list of recorded devices produced can be found in document SCPXXXX-A. Animal instances have been recorded to skip this step.
  • Will ask anyone still unaffected by the active area to take their picture, with priority given to acquaintances. SCPXXXX-1 instances will request the photographer to take the picture within SCPXXXX's area of affect in an effort to trick them. Animal instances will attempt to get human attention through noise generation.
  • Will pose for the photograph. Poses taken by SCPXXXX-1 are dependent on the the instance SCPXXXX that has affected them, and the individual. For a record of poses, see document SCPXXXX-B
  • The photographer will take the picture. If there was no outside photographer available, human instances will take the previously produced camera and take their own picture.
  • All SCPXXXX-1 instances will instantaneously disappear from their previous location and reappear as a new instance of SCPXXXX, near the instance of SCPXXXX that affected it.
  • Observers will forget all information relating to previous instances of SCPXXXX-1 and, if questioned, insist that all instances of SCPXXXX were always there. If shown video-graphic evidence, witnesses have been recorded to only see statues before and after the photograph was taken.
