Tree of universal pain

Class: Euclid

Containment procedure: *Insert scp#* is contained within a concrete room, dimensions unnecessary, current dimensions are 14 feet by 15 feet. The floor of the container consists of fertilized soil. One window for viewing of the specimen. 5 inch thick steel bulkhead is required on door. Does not require any form of sustenance, and test subjects are the only personnel allowed within the chamber with instruction to do so by a researcher.

Every 4 months, a test subject will be sent to consume a fruit, and will immediately be terminated at sign of infection.

Description: SCP*insert number here* appears to be a tree with shared qualities of oak, palm and elm. It's current height is 8 feet. The tree bears fruit, unlike oak or elm, and extremely different to that of the palm. The fruit is a bright orange, spherical fruit about 3 inches in diameter. The fruit constantly releases a sweet aroma similar to that of the mango.

If ingested, the fruit finds the most physically painful experience from the subject's past. If unable to find a pain that exceeds a certain thresh hold which we are unable to identify, it will then look for mental illness or disability. If unable to find an mental illness or disability that exceeds the second unknown thresh hold, it will search for the worst illness the subject has received. Again, if unable to find an illness the subject has experienced that meets it's criteria, it will terminate the subject. Method of termination is unknown.

If the user meets one of said categories, the fruit will take the pain or symptoms experienced by the event or illness that meets it's criteria, and will add it to the symptoms of a condition that will then be inflicted upon the subject. The subject then receives an illness, the symptoms of which include all of the pain and illnesses chosen from previous subjects. Therefore, the illness becomes more severe with each individual it infects. This happens instantaneously.

The illness itself is non viral, and cannot spread by any method whatsoever. However, if no fruit is eaten within five months of the previous ingestion, the virus will begin emitting from the tree, sharing qualities with airborne viruses. If left for another month, the virus begins to exhibit qualities of waterborne illnesses. If left for another month, those who are infected with the virus begin exhibiting a violent cough, which spreads the virus. Upon any of these methods infecting another subject, the virus will no longer be able to spread by any method other than the fruit, unless the time limit is reached again.
