Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4709 is located at site-██. SCP-4709 is to be contained in a standard containment cell of 16 square meters. The cameras and two-way speaker must be reviewed for maintenance daily. The cell control room is to be staffed by two security agents at a time, cycled every 12 hours. With the exception of Class-D, no personnel with an MRIED score below 80 is authorized to monitor or interact with SCP-4709.

During standard procedures and tests, SCP-4709 must be draped in an opaque sheet at all times; Intentional removal is only authorized during tests performed by researchers with a score of 120 or higher on an MRIED test submitted within a 10-day period.

In consequence of SCP-4709's previously esoteric methods of psychological harm, the Mental Resilience, Impulsivity, Empathy, and Depravity (MRIED) exam was developed in order to determine an individual's resistance to SCP-4709's effects with adequate certainty.

All handling of SCP-4709 is strictly permitted to personnel assigned by the site director.1. Authorized personnel must retake the MRIED test and switch out with another researcher each month. Authorized personnel scoring lower than 80 must be removed from the assignment. Personnel must also take the MRIED test following an interview or incident involving exposure to SCP-4709, or A through C-type subjects. Staff members entering SCP-4709's chamber for testing or interaction are required take the MRIED a day beforehand, scoring a 100 or above. Two security officers are required to wait outside the containment cell in order to protect the researcher inside, as well as remove them immediately upon signs of psychological manipulation.

Description: SCP-4709 is a feminine mannequin, found in ██████, Nevada, USA. The mannequin appears to be made of fiberglass, its arms and legs attached to the torso by ball joints. The mannequin's head is seamed with black human hair. While inert, SCP-4709 exhibits no visual anomalies.

Individuals with a clear view of SCP-4709, will begin to exhibit anomalous psychological effects2, most notably when the mannequin's face is visible. Subjects may experience mild to severe anxiety almost immediately upon visual contact. Within 3-10 minutes in subjects with average MRIED scores, subjects may develop certain impulsions as follows:

  • Uncontrollable fear of SCP-4709. The individual will be exhibit further anxiety, and quickly lose any interest in continuing tests. Individuals will often suffer panic attacks, and will always attempt to escape the vicinity of SCP-4709 to the best of their ability. Once an individual loses composure and becomes inconsolable, they are to be classified SCP-4709-A. SCP-4709-A subjects are incapable of rationalizing their distress, and if not provided the means to escape SCP-4709, subjects show a pattern of resorting to suicidal tendencies. The classification of SCP-4709-A may be revoked after removal from the vicinity of SCP-4709, B-type and C-type subjects, as well as extensive therapeutic treatment. With the exemption of D-Class subjects, all declassified individuals are barred from further interaction with SCP-4709.
  • Unconditional infatuation with SCP-4709. Particularly empathic individuals are far more prone to developing sympathies to the mannequin, often remarking on its poor treatment. Individuals with knowledge on the fatal abilities of SCP-4709 are less likely to experience this, especially those indicated as moralistic on the MRIED exam. After further exposure, individuals will refuse to abandon SCP-4709, in which they may be classified as an SCP-4709-B instance. B-type subjects will similarly do everything possible to avoid detachment from SCP-4709, frequently becoming violent. Subjects typically become unresponsive to inquiry from staff, and will continue to admire the mannequin quietly, often caressing its hair. Unless physically provided food, B-type subjects will usually succumb to dehydration after being unattended for several days. The presence of SCP-4709-B instances increase the likelihood of SCP-4709 entering its animated state, assuredly in a hostile state. No more than three SCP-4709-B instances may exist at a time. Regardless of previous classification, B-type subjects are to be terminated immediately upon animation of SCP-4709. Pacification and declassification is not practical or feasible at this point.
  • Sensual adoration of SCP-4709. Individuals considered more depraved by the MRIED test are most likely to experience this effect, approximately 8.3% of subjects. The individual will become far less anxious, appearing placid and reverent of SCP-4709, frequently mistaken as B-type behavior. WIP HERE

If SCP-4709 is not directly visible, and is not in close proximity to the subject, effects will wear off. Length of exposure will prolong the effects. Subjects exposed for over an hour are at high risk of being effected permanently, especially as SCP-4709-B or C.

SCP-4709 is likely sapient, and may become animate at times, despite its solid structure. SCP-4709 also possesses unexpected strength and knowledge of its surroundings.

SCP-4709, when animate, is typically hostile toward humans, SCP-4709-B and C excluded. SCP-4709 and 4709-B instances will attempt to remove victims' tongues using the sharpest tools they can find. Where and how the severed body parts are used is unknown. Visual and auditory exposure to SCP-4709-A, B, and C instances degrades sanity3. Glass, footage, and pictures do not inhibit this effect.

SCP-4709 was originally used as a test dummy in nuclear tests █████, ███████, and ███. On ██/██/1958, after a series of murders and claims of a cult in ██████, located near the test sites, SCP-4709 was discovered by Agent Murphy, leading a group of █ individuals. An MTF squad was dispatched to the area, and a firefight ensued with SCP-4709’s followers. before and after the capture of SCP-4709, 3 agents were killed-in-action, █ 4709-B instances were terminated, one was captured alongside SCP-4709, and two instances were amnesticized and released due to their miniscule exposure to 4709. ██ witnesses were amnesticized afterward. Several civilians, dead and alive, had lost their tongues. A complex cover story was developed, but ultimately, manipulation of the population's memories was necessary. Location of missing body parts is unknown, and dissection of 4709-B instances provided no answers. The US military has refused to give any information about SCP-4709. As of 09/20/1962, US forces have occupied the town, and isolated it from the public. Requests for them to comment on their actions have been denied. Investigation into the events preceding SCP-4709's detainment is no longer permitted.

Drone footage circulated online starting in 07/30/2019 revealed that the town has since been leveled to the ground, save for military buildings. The US government has initiated censorship efforts against the footage and has charged several citizens with treason. The footage and the government's response has caused a major controversy amongst the internet, and the SCP Foundation is currently aiding in censorship efforts, as well as creating a co-operative team with the United States' [REDACTED] to create a cover story, reasons being to prevent exposure of anomalies to the world population, as well as attempt to convince the government to provide information regarding SCP-4709.

Document 4709-1, ██/██/1963:

Following the recent containment breach, 4709 has been reclassified as euclid, and containment procedures have been updated. The cause of the power outage hasn't been identified yet, but for now it is to be assumed that 4709 is capable of more than we think. The site is being fitted with more power backups, and there are new procedures in effect for 4709. In order to prevent further incidents, McGraves has been tasked with composing a standardized test for staff interacting with the SCP.

Doctor McGraves has also been assigned to supervise SCP-4709. He is authorized to remove any staff from 4709, and will be in charge of authorizing all testing from here on. Give him your congratulations, and take some time off after that gruesome mess. There's to be no more tests on 4709 for the next two weeks, folks.

-Site Director ███████

Document 4709-2 ██/██/1965:

After the untimely demise of our colleague, Doctor ██████ McGraves, it's become clear to me that SCP-4709 is not a creature worth all our lives and sanity. A request to transfer SCP-4709 somewhere more secure has already been sent. Until then, I am halting all tests on 4709. The cell will remain guarded under much more rigorous care, which all officers will be informed of in the new containment procedures. It's probable that our entire security force will have had a shift guarding 4709 at least once. Pray that we can put this creature somewhere more secure before then.
