SCP-XXXX
Crying Child

rating: 0+x

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX's cell is 76m x 76m (256 sq ft), and must have multiple cabinets and small spaces for it to hide in. A 11m x 22m twin size bed with heavy grey sheets must be in the corner at all times with one large pillow. If it has undergone extensive treatment that day, a nightlight can be placed within the room. Two level 2 personnel and one level 3 personnel are to watch SCP-XXXX at all times over the camera system. They may rotate watch every two hours. Coming within 4.6 metres or less of SCP-XXXX is prohibited. Food, served 3 times a day, must be given through a slot by a level 2 personnel while SCP-XXXX waits on the other side of the room and out of range. A maximum of 3 snacks a day are allowed if requested. All sanitary and medical supplies must be kept clean to a satisfactory level.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a young European humanoid, 13 years of age. After inspection it is found to have neither male nor female body parts and ages at .02 the normal rate of human growth. It stands at 18.41 metres. It has .15m length black hair, wavy, and large hazel eyes. It is thin, as if starved for about a week. There are dark streaks in the shape of tear streaks on its face. These never disappear, no matter what measures are taken.

The main ability of SCP-XXXX is activated whenever a sentient being comes within 4.6 metres of it. They will become extremely aggressive towards SCP-XXXX, and will go out of their way to harm it. Methods of harm include: mental, emotional, physical. Although SCP-XXXX does not report feeling any pain physically, there is still bruising that will last a maximum of 30 minutes. This aggravated state lasts until SCP-XXXX begins to cry translucent grey-black tears, which emits a unique chemical (labeled Substance-█████) that will leave the attacker satisfied. They will then angrily order SCP-XXXX to leave them, and it will obey.

At a maximum of 1.5 hours later, the affected will feel an immense amount of guilt. They will then seek out SCP-XXXX to apologize. If the affected does not find it in a given amount of time (the limit varies), they will be overwhelmed by emotion and commit suicide.

Addendum: On rare occasion, there have been subjects that have felt, rather than aggression, a strong need to protect SCP-XXXX. After a number of interrogations, it has been found that SCP-XXXX will cause a different reaction in those that have experienced trauma. These affected will protect it and do almost anything in their power to spend time with SCP-XXXX.

After about three weeks, the positively affected subjects began to feel that the need to protect SCP-XXXX had waned. They then explained that the effects of the trauma they underwent had seemingly disappeared.

A possible theory is that SCP-XXXX can be used to therapeutically cure humans of mental trauma. It is unknown if Substance-█████ can be used for therapy if SCP-XXXX is not there to supply it.

Addendum 2: Cross-testing with other SCPs, such as SCP-134, SCP-053, and SCP-706, have shown that SCP-XXXX gets along well with other SCPs and has no effect on them. It is still to be decided if SCP-XXXX will be cross-tested with non-humanoid SCPs and SCPs ranked Keter.

Test A - ██/██/19██

Subjects: SCP-XXXX and SCP-134

Procedure: SCP-XXXX was kept inside of its cell while SCP-134 was first introduced through the camera and radio system. While SCP-134 was talking, SCP-XXXX seemed to become more comfortable in the presence of another child. With two level 3 personnel on guard, SCP-134 was physically able to meet SCP-XXXX. The two immediately began to play with one another, sharing experiences of the past. They both seemed to be especially interested in the topic of each other’s eyes. This test lasted for an hour before SCP-134 was brought back to its cell. It was reluctant to leave, but soon complied.

Results: Both SCPs were unharmed, with SCP-134 showing no sign of aggression when within the presence of SCP-XXXX.

Analysis: SCP-XXXX most likely has little effect on other SCPs, though this idea must be tested further to be fully confirmed.

Test B - ██/██/19██

Subjects: SCP-XXXX and SCP-053

Procedure: SCP-XXXX was kept inside of its cell while SCP-053 was first introduced through the camera and radio system. While SCP-053 was talking, SCP-XXXX seemed eager to meet it. With two level 3 personnel on guard, both SCPs were at first surprised and curious about each other. They soon began to talk about how they affect the people around them, most likely because of the negative influence. They then talked about how neither of them affected the other, and began to play games that SCP-053 introduced to SCP-XXXX. This test lasted for an hour before SCP-053 was brought back to its cell. It asked multiple times if it could see SCP-XXXX again, as did SCP-XXXX about SCP-053.

Results: Both SCPs were unharmed, with neither affecting the other with their abilities.

Analysis: The theory that SCP-XXXX has little effect on other SCPs is further pushed to confirmation, though there are many other tests that must be conducted.
