Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a standard containment locker at Site-73. The locker is not to ever be opened outside of testing. Testing is to be performed in a soundproofed room, and any video taken is to be without sound, except during interrogations of SCP-XXXX-1. Speech transcription is to be used in normal testing. During testing, SCP-XXXX is not to be used to draw on living entities. After testing concludes, the SCP-XXXX-1 instance is to be terminated by wiping its face off with a sanitary wipe. As of 8/2/2012, the object an instance of SCP-XXXX-1 is drawn on is not to be harmed.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a black fine point marker. When used to draw anything not resembling a face, it displays no anomalous properties. When it is used to draw a face on an inanimate object, the object gains sentience. These objects are regarded as SCP-XXXX-1.

The demeanor and IQ of instances of SCP-XXXX-1 vary regarding the quality of the drawn face. SCP-XXXX-1 can vocalize through unknown means. When the object the instance of SCP-XXXX-1 is drawn on is damaged, the instance of SCP-XXXX-1 emits what can be described as human screaming at 200 db. SCP-XXXX was contained in █████, New York on ██/11/2011 after police reports of "ear piercing screaming" by local residents. The SCP was then contained by MTF Pi-1 ("City Slickers"), and amnestics were administered appropriately.

Procedure: D-XXXX2 is to draw a face resembling a specimen of Felis catus.

The instance of SCP-XXXX-1 begins to produce vocalizations typical of Felis catus specimens.
D-XXXX2: "What?"
D-XXXX2 looks around the testing chamber in confusion, then looks up at the vents.
D-XXXX2: "Did you put some sort of funny gas in here? Am I going to black out?"
SCP-XXXX-1 starts to produce stressed vocalizations as D-XXXX2 becomes more confused.
D-XXXX2 knocks the ceramic tile SCP-XXXX-1-2 is drawn on off of its post and run toward the door.
As SCP-XXXX-1 hits the ground, it starts to produce human screams at 203 decibels.
D-XXXX2 emits stressed vocalizations as his eardrums rupture.
Notes: SCP-XXXX-1 After one minute, SCP-XXXX-1-2's vocalizations started decreasing in decibel level. It stopped entirely after two minutes and three seconds. D-XXXX2 expired from an air embolism along with the majority of the research crew.

Procedure: D-XXXX5 is to draw a face on the lips and eyelids of D-XXXX6.

Notes: The SCP-XXXX-1 instance escaped the testing chamber and breached containment. It killed D-XXXX5, the research team assigned to the project and two facility guards before it was terminated via gunshot. D-XXXX6's body was burned and testing on SCP-XXXX was ceased for ██ months.
SCP-XXXX will not be reclassified Euclid or Keter class. The marker can't grow legs and draw a face on an unlucky D-Class. -Dr. █████, Site 73 Site Manager.

Procedure: D-XXXX7 is to draw a face on a paper mask with SCP-XXXX. This mask will then be put on D-XXXX8.

Closing Statement: Prior interviews with D-XXXX1 revealed that Philbert had been the name of an imaginary friend he had in his childhood. Research into how the SCP-XXXX-1 instance assumed this identity is ongoing.

Interview #2

Interviewer: D-XXXX3.
Foreword: Interview took place after the events of Test #3.

SCP-XXXX-1: Greetings friend.
D-XXXX3: Well this is just as wacky as everything else in here. How are you, my friend?
SCP-XXXX-1: Awfully famished if I say so. What time does it happen to be?
D-XXXX3: Just a bit past noon. I'd offer to take you out to lunch if I could, but I'm not sure they would allow that.
A bowl of oatmeal was provided to D-XXXX3 at this point for experimental reasons.
D-XXXX3: I suppose this is the best we could ask for.
D-XXXX3 places the bowl of oatmeal onto the table the ceramic tile SCP-XXXX-1 is drawn on is placed on. Immediately after this, the oatmeal starts draining from the styrofoam bowl it is placed into. No hole was found in the bowl after the oatmeal was completely drained.

Closing Statement: Following the events in the log, researchers came into the test chamber and made the instance of SCP-XXXX-1 take an IQ Test verbally. The gotten score was 267 IQ points.

D-XXXX4 approaches the ceramic tile SCP-XXXX-1 is drawn on, seemingly with an intent to push it over. Security responds before D-XXXX4 can reach the table. After D-XXXX4 is removed from the testing chamber, the instance of SCP-XXXX-1 begins vocalizing again. Researchers enter the room and make the instance take a verbal IQ test. The test results in a score of 34 IQ, in the range of moderate mental retardation.
