SCP-XXXX is to be kept under constant surveillance in the specialized underground 400m/100m room constructed to house it at site■■. Artificial sunlight, humidity controls and additional topsoil and compost are to be added and regulated upon request of XXXX. As a security measure all foodstuffs are to be regularly tested by personnel for potential danger, additionally the air in XXXX's chambers is only to be circulated back into the room itself after filtration, testing and treatments.
XXXX has expressed no interest in anything outside of growing foods and social interaction so personnel are free to spend as much time in its room as they like so long as this does not interfere with their official duties.
Description:
SCP-XXXX is a humanoid entity of varying height and weight, its body is of largely inconsistent makeup, sometimes it seems to be almost completely human with plantlike cell walls in place of typical animal cell membranes and pockets of chlorophyll in its skin lending it a slightly green color, other times it appears almost entirely composed of leafy plant life, it can vary from 1.5m to over 3m and can weigh as little as 15 kg or as much as 300 kg. It seems to have some nfluence over these changes however it doesn't transform rapidly, rather it seems to shift gradually and constantly.
XXXX does, despite being a plant, seem to have something akin to blood; this liquid is inconsistent in its makeup but is always extremely rich in water, oxygen and chlorophyll. The flexibility of this fluid is thought to be responsible for the mutability of its form and genetics. Subject has some form of direct control over every cell in its body, allowing it to rapidly repurpose them if needed. When "skeletal" structure recieves major damage surrounding cells will flood with calcium and harden, sometimes softening after the structural damage has been repaired. Additionally every cell in its body is capable of participating in what appears to be higher cognitive function, which may allow it to use its entire body as a "brain" making it remarkable intelligent for a plant. It can also use any number of cells as makeshift muscle tissue, lending it immense proportional strength. Despite this power it seems that the entity lacks the capacity for dynamic movement of any kind, seemingly limited to a lumbering stroll.
XXXX is capable of either replicating or producing a huge array of plant life, it mostly uses this ability to plant and grow food for humans. Seeds manifested from XXXX's body as well as the plants they grow into are designated XXXX-1. XXXX claims to be able to grow any plant it has encountered. Upon request of a foundation staff member it has even grown a massive cherry tree which nearly grows to the 25m ceiling of its containment unit. All plants grown by XXXX are at least 120% larger than the average version and are exceptionally fruitful, even accounting for their enhanced size. In addition to their incredible size XXXX-1 are always at least 50% more nutritious than the originals and have been observed to be "delicious" and "incredibly fresh" and have a remarkable shelf life, staying fresh for weeks or even months with no refrigeration or preservative measures of any kind. XXXX-1 instances also grow incredibly quickly, the aforementioned cherry tree grew to nearly 10 feet in height in a mere four weeks and smaller vegetation generally matures and reaches full size within twenty days.
XXXX-1 instances account for nearly all of the plant based foods eaten at site■■, construction of a larger containment unit for XXXX is currently underway.
Containment Addendum: XXXX-A
XXXX-A has not displayed any dangerous qualities and has been allowed to share XXXX's containment unit. It displays identical plant generation abilities to the original but it's physical speed and dexterity far surpass its predecessor. For this reason the two are banned from producing any sentient or ambulatory offspring until further notice.
