Item #: SCP-4431

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4431 is to be contained in a 8 x 8 x 6 airtight glass box in Sector-14. SCP-4431 is completely safe when not in use so no other containment procedures are needed. Special procedures are needed in order to test if SCP-4431's containment is airtight before transit but this does not apply to tests (Do not test SCP-4431 for more then 30 minutes). If oxidised, SCP-4431 can mold and tests of samples have shown that when it is oxidised, it loses its anomaly.

Description: SCP-4431 is a slice of white bread from the company Hovis. The slice of bread can regenerate at rapid speeds, almost always 4.6 seconds after a piece of it has been either bitten or pulled off. SCP-4431 has no psychological power and doesn't seem to force people into eating it.
If a sample of SCP-4431 is swallowed, it can use the eaten piece to form a completely new piece of bread and this only seems to happen if it is swallowed. Subjects who have swallowed SCP-4431 are to be called SCP-4431-1. No cases have indicated that SCP-4431-1 can survive after they have swallowed it.
The piece of SCP-4431 after expanding in the throat (SCP-4431-2) hasn't shown to be anomalous but it must be disposed of by any means possible.

Addendum: SCP-4431 was found after a man dialed an ambulance stating that his wife was choking on a piece of toast. Autopsy reports show that the wife had a whole piece of bread half way down her throat. Agents erased the memory of SCP-4431 from the doctors who did the autopsy and told the man his wife had died by choking on the small slice of bread that she ate and he seems to believe it.
