Space Bear

Item #: SCP-5049

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures:

SCP-5049 is to be contained inside of a standard sized cell on top of a 1 meter pedestal at all times, and is not to be inserted into any Xbox 360 Console if not being tested. Testing is not to be conducted unless permitted by the managing researcher. The object is to be tested on D-Class only.

Description:
SCP-5049 is a disk copy of Minecraft for the Xbox 360 Console. However, the case is missing all brand markings, ESRB ratings, and reviews. On the actual disk itself, the word ‘Minecraft’ is misspelled as ‘Mincraft’. When the disk is inserted into an Xbox 360 Console, the game looks like any other Minecraft copy, except for the misspelling of Minecraft. Also noted is the lack of a “multiplayer” option on the main menu.

When the player presses the ‘play’ button, there is no menu to select which world the player would wish to play in. Instead, they are put in a seemingly normal survival world.

When the player’s in-game avatar is injured, the player is similarly hurt. Dying in the game causes the player’s death. Also noted, is the players seem to become addicted to the game once they start playing, despite the pain it causes them.

NOTE: Attempting to end the contact between test subject and SCP-5049 will immediately result in [DATA EXPUNGED].

Discovery Location:
SCP-5049 was discovered in ██████, Sweden, when an agent reported the object after it had killed one (1) and seriously injured another. An MTF team was dispatched to the agent's location shortly after. SCP-5049 is now in containment at Site-██.
