Containment Class:
euclid
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is contained in a room at (site/area x), accessible through an observation room with a reinforced one-way mirror. Access is restricted by authorization and oversight from personnel with a security clearance level of 2 or higher.
Any personnel that are assigned to testing with SCP-XXXX are required to undergo psychiatric evaluation beforehand, only to be permitted to test with SCP-XXXX if results show that they have no intention to cause a containment breach, harm Foundation personnel, or escape Foundation facilities.
Update: Personnel assigned to testing with SCP-XXXX are also required in psychiatric test results to show no desire to create or become any anomalous objects. If it is determined that they do have such intent, their involvement in testing must be decided by personnel with a security clearance level of 4 or higher, with all decisions and reports to be provided before and after testing to appropriate personnel with security clearance Level 5.
Personnel with clearance to interact with SCP-XXXX are to be accompanied by four guards with security clearance of 3 or higher, in the event that dangerous and/or anomalous instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are produced when SCP-XXXX is solved.
Each instance of SCP-XXXX-1 is to be evaluated for hazardous or anomalous effects before it is determined what course of action should be taken with it, as well as whether personnel involved in its generation should be permitted ownership of it. Any instances of SCP-XXXX-1 that are drawn from sources with a value of importance are to be evaluated and returned on a case-by-case basis.
Update: SCP-XXXX is to be solved regularly, no less than one time per month with an ideal frequency of no less than one time per week. See [Interview Log XXXX-47-A] and [Interview Log XXXX-47-B]. In the event that SCP-XXXX cannot be solved at least one time per month, additional guards are to be posted in preparation for a Broken Puzzlemaster Event.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an ornate puzzle box, measuring 1m x 1m x 0.75m. It is hexagonal at its base, which continues up to a height of 0.5m before terminating in a corresponding hexagonal pyramid cap that extends another 0.25m in height. It a design roughly analogous to designs originating from 19th century England. Carbon dating has placed the origin of SCP-XXXX roughly within a period between 37,000 BCE to 40,000 BCE, with exact measurements limited due to the disintegration of samples taken and regeneration of SCP-XXXX shortly after each attempted test.
Puzzle mechanisms contained within SCP-XXXX vary per Puzzlemaster Cycle, which can range from normal mechanisms expected to be contained in a puzzle box to assorted anomalous mechanisms, including but not limited to hand cranks, tumbler locks, alphanumeric keypads, blood sampling apparatuses, mental prisons [see Interview Log 41-b], and [REDACTED]. These mechanisms are normally contained in chambers behind the six side panels around SCP-XXXX's base, however SCP-XXXX can reconfigure itself if the dimensions of a mechanism cannot be sufficiently contained within this area.
When all current puzzle mechanisms contained within SCP-XXXX have been solved, the top portion of SCP-XXXX will open, revealing a reward instance of SCP-XXXX-1 for all individuals responsible in whole or in part for solving the current iteration of SCP-XXXX. The ability of SCP-XXXX to recognize individuals that took part in solving it is not limited to physical interaction, as it has been shown through testing to recognize individuals who provide verbal guidance or suggestions, even when separated on the other side of a soundproofed room with no visibility.
SCP-XXXX-1 are reward items produced by SCP-XXXX when it it solved. These appear to be transported via indeterminate means into the reward chamber of SCP-XXXX when solved, and will match an item desired by individuals who took part in solving SCP-XXXX, regardless of whether or not they are aware they desired it. These can range from non-anomalous objects and living beings, to spatial anomalies or other anomalous objects or beings.
Foundation analysts have determined that many instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are taken from existing instances present in the world. Any other instances appear to be custom generated by SCP-XXXX based on the desires of individuals that solve it, with further testing concluding that these instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are created using existing matter and energy taken from other locations.
SCP-XXXX has displayed a preference for taking existing objects or organisms for use as SCP-XXXX-1 instances over creating new objects, with a marked aversion to creating new organisms.
Approximately 30 minutes after SCP-XXXX is solved, it will enter a dormant state, beginning a Puzzlemaster Event. During a Puzzlemaster Event, SCP-XXXX will enter a form of stasis while it resets itself, lasting no longer than 24 hours, with rare exception. See [Log File XXXX-26-A]. This stasis effect renders SCP-XXXX impervious to any intrusion, tampering, or scanning tested thus far, with further testing ongoing. At the conclusion of a Puzzlemaster Event the stasis effect surrounding SCP-XXXX will dissipate, allowing it to be interacted with again, which reveals it to contain a new combination of puzzle mechanisms.

Interviewed: D-15768
Interviewer: Dr. Ezhil Chaudhri
Foreword: D-15768 had recently recovered from exposure to a "mind trap" puzzle mechanism in SCP-XXXX during testing alongside D-15767 and had just been deemed fit for interview.
<Begin Log, [optional time info]>
Dr. Chaudhri: Tell me what happened.
D-15768: It was… strange. Soon as I touched the mechanism, there was this bright flash. Then the next thing I knew, I was in a big room. At least, I thought it was. Whole fuckin' thing was white, except for what looked like some kinda Greek lounge space or somethin' in the middle. Man was sittin' right there, waitin', expectantly. Beckonin' me over.
Dr. Chaudhri: What did this man look like?
D-15768: He was… he was dressed in some kinda ornate robe or somethin'. Looked really tacky. But maybe a nice kinda tacky. But that's not the point. He beckons me over. You know, like someone who knows you well? But I had no fuckin' clue who he was. But I didn't really have much else I coulda done in there, you know? So eventually, I made my way over to him. Then he greets me. Real friendly-like.
Dr. Chaudhri: Please don't get off topic, D-15768. Do you recall what the man looked like?
D-15768: Sorry, ma'am. Kinda gettin' lost in the moment, recallin' all this stuff for you. He… looked like some kinda old sage, or youthful inquisitor out of the past, yet… somehow wouldn't look outta place in the present. You get what I'm meanin'? He had light, tannish skin, and dark, curly, wavy black hair. Kinda long, but not too long. Shoulder length in places, I think. His eyes were some kinda mix of blue and green. Really strikin'. He seemed really friendly, but stern an' intimidating if he mighta felt like it. Can't really do much more for you there unless you can pull the memories straight outta my head or somethin'.
Dr. Chaudhri: Very interesting. (Dr. Chaudhri takes a few moments to write in her notepad.) Then he said something to you? The man in the room? Can you remember what he said to you?
D-15768: Yeah, I was gettin' to that. Says this is all part of that… box you guys are havin' me an' my brother test for you. Says it's one of them puzzles that's part of the box an' stuff. Says this can all be over an' I can be right back to my life out in my body out there, if I'm too uncomfortable with it. Or I can talk with him an' attempt to solve the puzzle. Apparently it's some kinda quiz? Riddles, I think he said.
Dr. Chaudhri: Wait, go back a moment. What was that you said about… "going back to your body"? "Out there"?
D-15768: I was wonderin' 'bout that too. So I asked him. Said it was part of how this part of the box works. Somethin' about transferrin' your mind outta your head and into some kinda "free image space" or somethin'. Said it helps with the process. No gettin' outside help, see? Only allowed to be there, just you an' him.
Dr. Chaudhri: Interesting. (Dr. Chaudhri writes on her notepad.) What happened next? Do you remember anything after that?
D-15768: Yeah, of course. Gave me some riddles an' quizzes. Ranged from child's play to stuff only geniuses could figure out. Heh, guess I was lucky I was the brains of the family, huh? Took me a while to figure some of 'em out, but I got 'em all eventually. Once I'm done, the guy says I'm free to go, and that I don't need to do this again unless I try the box again or somethin'. Next thing I know, there's this big flash of light, I come to with you guys checkin' on me, an' I'm sittin' here with you talkin' 'bout it.
Dr. Chaudhri: If that's all, I think we're done here. Thank you for your information, and cooperation, D-15768. (Dr. Chaudhri begins to collect her things, and steps up from her seat.)
D-15768: Oh, wait. There was one other thing. Just remembered.
Dr. Chaudhri: (Dr. Chaudhri pauses, turns to look back at D-15768, showing mild surprise.) Yes?
D-15768: Guy said somethin' before I left. Told me to tell you guys somethin'.
Dr. Chaudhri: Oh? And what would that be?
D-15768: He said to thank you guys for 'im. Give him purpose, instead of lettin' him rot in some warehouse or somethin'.
Dr. Chaudhri: Do you mean… the box?
D-15768: (D-15768 scratches his head while scrunching up his face in contemplation.) Y-yeah, at least, I think so. The way he spoke, kinda sounded like he was the only one in there, ya know? Like there was somethin' more to 'im. Like he wasn't just responsible for the… mind trap that got me solvin' riddles for him an' you guys? At least… I think. Kinda confusin' focusin' on solvin' all those riddles an' stuff for so long. I'm still worn out from it all.
Dr. Chaudhri: Mhm. And how long did you feel you were in there for, exactly?
D-15768: Uh… kinda hard to keep track of time an' stuff in there, but I'd say… oh, 'bout three hours, give or take?
Dr. Chaudhri: (Dr. Chaudhri momentarily appears to be shocked, before writing on her notepad.) That's… You were in there for eighteen minutes, D-15768.
D-15768: (Crosses his arms and leans his chin on one of his hands, contemplative.) Huh. Go figure. Leave it to them mind-warpin' anomalies to do somethin' like that. Warped perception of time an' stuff.
Dr. Chaudhri: Was that all? Nothing else you haven't thought of telling me about?
D-15768: No, I think that's everythin'. Nothin' else I can remember, anyway. I think that was it. An' stop it with the riddles, already. I'm tired an'… that was a real chore. Interestin', but tirin'.
Dr. Chaudhri: D-15768… I haven't been giving you any riddles. I have been doing nothing outside of conducting your interview after your incident with the puzzle mechanism while testing SCP-XXXX.
D-15768: R-right. Sorry. Mind must still be messed up after all those riddles the guy in the box had me doin' for 'im.
Dr. Chaudhri: If that's everything, then I think we're done here. (Dr. Chaudhri writes on her notepad, then resumes packing up her things, before exiting the room. Several minutes later a guard enters the room, who escorts D-15768 out.)
<End Log, [optional time info]>
Closing Statement: Due to concerns regarding a change in behavior recorded during interviewing, D-15768 was given supplementary tests, with intelligence and general problem solving tests producing results significantly higher than recorded baseline. Further testing reported no significant changes to brain function other than improved intelligence and mental fatigue. Subsequently, D-15768 has been cleared to be returned to duties.

Closing Statement:
Personnel involved in solution: D-8134
SCP-XXXX-1 instance produced: One female cat, tabby, kitten.
Action taken: Kitten was determined to be non-anomalous, with a temperment suitable for adoption, despite apparent trauma from being displaced from another location. After determination that it did not appear to belong to any existing owners or stores, kitten was transferred to Dr. Ahlgren for care, with D-8134 permitted visits under supervision.
Personnel involved in solution: D-27283
SCP-XXXX-1 instance produced: SCP-173.
Action taken: SCP-173 was re-contained by on-site security, with no casualties. Psychiatric treatment was provided for test group and guards for severe stress, with D-27283 permanently transferred away from testing with SCP-XXXX and assigned further psychiatric evaluation and treatment.
Footnotes:
[Dr. Henrikson - We were lucky on this one. Make sure it doesn't happen again. Ever.]
Personnel involved in solution: D-12763, D-14567
SCP-XXXX-1 instance produced: Two plush dolls styled after characters from a popular video game of the late 2010s, resembling a mermaid Medusa and a green dragon with a variable number of heads. One accompanying note stating "Happy birthday Mark! From Bishop Ruminator." in colorful letters was also found among the primary SCP-XXXX-1 instances.
Action taken: Dolls were deemed non-anomalous and permitted to be retained by D-12763 as possessions, as per request by D-12763 and D-14567. Note was retained for further study after being presented to D-12763, despite objections.
Footnotes:
[Dr. Chaudhri - Really, Grant? Are we that cold to not allow one of our D-class to retain this letter? It was deemed non-anomalous, and we have everything we need on file for further study involving it. Let the young man have his birthday note.]
[Dr. Henrikson - Fine. The D-class can have his note, but don't expect any more favors from me in the near future, Ezhil.]
Personnel involved in solution: D-15767, D-15768
SCP-XXXX-1 instance produced: One photograph of D-1576(8?)'s family depicting D-1576(8) embracing with family including wife and child, and one pack of collector's playing cards attributed to the (- casino) in (-), Nevada, United States.
Action taken: Objects were determined to be non-anomalous, and permitted to be retained by D-15767 and D-15768 as rewards for good conduct and behavior (in testing with SCP-XXXX). The casino was compensated by Foundation agents for the loss of the playing card deck.
Personnel involved in solution: D-21374
SCP-XXXX-1 instance produced: One Foundation ID, bearing identification and clearance for D-21374 by legal name, with the position of research assistant for Dr. [gupti?].
Action taken: ID was determined to be non-anomalous and authentic, despite not having been issued. ID card has been confiscated until further notice, pending review for status of D-21374.
Personnel involved in solution: Dr. Akimura
SCP-XXXX-1 instance produced: One painting attributed to Vincent van Gogh.
Action taken: Testing determined the work was non-anomalous and authentic, having previously been listed as missing. After negotiations with (art authorities), Dr. Akimura was permitted to retain the work as part of his private collection for three years, before being turned over for formal preservation and display, with a copy of the work produced and transferred to Dr. Akimura as a replacement.
Personnel involved in solution: (xx)
SCP-XXXX-1 instance produced: One music CD, (xx).
Action taken: CD was determined to be non-anomalous, and had previously been lost by (xx). CD has been returned to (xx) after a brief holding period.
Mechanism: Hand crank.
Solution: Mechanism required being set in a series of positions based on subtle auditory and physical cues during use.
Time taken to reach solution:
[Dr. Henrikson - We had to bring in D-xxxx on this one. Turned out their experience with picking locks was useful in solving this particular mechanism.]
Mechanism: Tumbler lock
Solution: D-xxxx's personal effects locker key.
Time taken to reach solution:
[Dr. Henrikson - Contrary to previous assumptions made based on the solution for the hand crank, this one was more normal. And specific. Attempts made to pick it were not successful.]
Mechanism: Alphanumeric keypad system
Solution: D-xxxxx's home computer password.
Time taken to reach solution:
[Dr. Henrikson - This one was based on random guess by D-xxxxx. Who knows how long it would have taken us to figure this one out if they hadn't had a burst of inspiration to try it.]
Mechanism: Blood sampler [Instance B]
Solution: Genetic resequencing of sample from D-xxxxx before insertion into sampler mechanism, derived from material inherited from mother of subject.
Time taken to reach solution:
Mechanism: Alphanumeric keypad system
Solution: Sequential musical note matching game, with each key corresponding to specific notes, requiring a repeated sequence of increasing length and complexity to be matched until completion.
Time taken to reach solution:
Mechanism: Blood sampler [Instance x]
Solution: Genetic resequencing of sample taken from Dr. Henrikson before insertion into sampler mechanism, derived from distant ancestor species [—-].
Time taken to reach solution: 34.6 hours.
[Dr. Henrikson - Ha ha. Very funny. Looks like this box has a sense of humor in it.]
Mechanism: Pocket dimension gateway
Solution: Entry by a team of participants, working as a group to resolve an adventure.
Time taken to reach solution: Four days.
[Dr. Henrikson - This one… effectively amounted to a grandiose game of Dungeons and Dragons, contained in a pocket dimension with real danger and consequences. …Cute.]
Containment Class:
euclid
Item: SCP-XXXX-(1)
Object class: Euclid
Special containment procedures: SCP-XXXX-1 is contained within a secure perimeter, accessible through a guardhouse fitted with a clean room. The territory has been purchased by the Foundation under the pretense of being run as an ecological and environmental research station.
Level 3 clearance is required to access the area of SCP-XXXX-1 for testing.
Testing to access and study the area of SCP-XXXX requires authorization from personnel with Level 4 clearance. Authorized personnel are to only attempt entry while fitted with monitoring equipment and a reproduced copy of SCP-XXXX-2 with instruction on its use.
Description: SCP-XXXX-1 is a small tourist resort located on a short riverside beach in (region), (Nova Scotia or New Brunswick), Canada. When in an inactive state, SCP-XXXX-1 contains a series of framework shacks, devoid of any walls or furnishings.
SCP-XXXX-1's anomalous effects are activated when a human subject stands within one of the shacks the boundaries of SCP-XXXX-1 and begins issuing verbal commands, prompting the generation of a holographic menu in front of the subject. The affected subject, hereafter known as the "user", may then issue commands to SCP-XXXX-1 using the menu generated, to decorate, furnish, and control any shack or space "claimed" within SCP-XXXX-1. Using commands to alter the state of SCP-XXXX-1 will cause it to generate matching structures and furnishings based on commands given, which materialize in solid form when the user issues a command to lock them in.
SCP-XXXX-1's verbal command system may also be used to materialize living beings, such as a concierge and various animal species. These appear to behave much like NPCs in a video game, being set with a default behavior pattern or blank template, which can be set and customized based on user generation settings.
The interface and physical object modification abilities of SCP-XXXX-1 resemble the sandbox systems in some video games, including the ability for users to choose or modify the behavior of any living being materialized using SCP-XXXX-1's interface.
SCP-XXXX is the region of space located through SCP-XXXX-1 instances in various regions and time periods on Earth. It has been determined that SCP-XXXX connects to regions and time periods including the location of the primary instance of SCP-XXXX-1 in ███████, Nova Scotia, Canada, ████ ███████, Mongolia circa 1237, █████████, ███████ circa 1432, as well as [REDACTED].
An "error code" while interacting with SCP-XXXX-1 results in the affected user being transported to the space within SCP-XXXX. This region encompasses an area estimated to be at least 10000m3, with no discernable means of exit by normal means. Travel is possible via a gravel path connecting a series of large clearings between decidous trees, with the clearings appearing to correspond to points of connection to instances of SCP-XXXX-1.
At the epicenter of SCP-XXXX is what was formerly a mass of inert, translucent metallic ovoids. Since the events described in Incident Report XXXX-1A, this area has been rendered inaccessible, with safe study only possible at a distance.
SCP-XXXX-2 is sword, constructed from a dark metal alloy, with a design that is anachronistic to contemporary designs from its suspected time period of origin. It possesses the anomalous ability to send a user to a point of origin when speaking the words "go home" while holding it, with testing to determine additional commands ongoing.
Since its recovery, rudimentary copies of SCP-XXXX-2 have been created, to allow personnel performing study of the area inside SCP-XXXX to exit it.
Addendum: SCP-XXXX(-1) was determined to be a subsection of a much larger anomaly, prompting reclassification to SCP-XXXX-1, with the core anomaly being given the designation of SCP-XXXX. This was discovered by [agent x] when they were accidentally trapped inside SCP-XXXX while investigating SCP-XXXX-1 and experimenting with its vocal command system. See [interview x].
Addendum 2: It is suspected, through continued study of SCP-XXXX-1 and its capabilities, that the individual described by Agent -- during their inadvertent sortie into the region of SCP-XXXX is either contained within the anomaly, still possessing some means of guiding its actions after absorption, or that the metallic ovoids within SCP-XXXX absorbed elements of their memories and behavior. Testing is ongoing to determine the exact nature of this property of SCP-XXXX. See Testing Log 52-B and Testing Log 52-C.
Interviewed: Agent [Name pending]
Interviewer: [Name pending]
Foreword: Agent -- had recently been recovered after a period of X days of being MIA, reappearing in the containment site that had been constructed around SCP-XXXX-1 after their disappearance, holding an anomalous sword that has since been filed for study and containment. At the time of this interview, SCP-XXXX-1 had not been reclassified, and was still referred to as SCP-XXXX.
<Begin Log, ██:██, ██/██/2018>
Interviewer: What happened?
Agent --: It, well… (Agent -- sighs.) I know my recorder should show what's needed. But it was definitely an experience. I was testing SCP-XXXX as part of procedure to verify the properties of the reported anomalous location. The next thing I knew, I was in a forest path I didn't recognize, so I must have inadvertently activated something that transported me.
Interviewer: Do you have any idea what could have triggered this to occur?
Agent --: No. The last thing I remember before finding myself in that forest was testing out the command system for SCP-XXXX. Exploring the menu and placing some furnishings in a shack I'd claimed. Looking around the area.
Interviewer: That's a shame. It'll be up to research staff to find that one out, in that case. What then?
Agent --: Due to how I found myself apparently trapped in this new location, I explored. As I started making my way down the path, I was passed by a group of Mongolian horseback riders. Looked like they were from the time of the Khans, and they were frantic. Didn't pay any attention to me while they raced past, so I'm guessing they were in a panic from being trapped like I was.
Interviewer: Mongols? Interesting. I can recall the recording showing them, and that matches the behavior apparent as they passed you. (Interviewer adds to the entry on their tablet.) Continue.
Agent --: As I continued, I noticed that the side of the path on my left ended at a seaside cliff, past the trees. Eventually I reached a strange clearing. There were these metallic, translucent ovoids all over, no, forming the ground of the clearing. The sun was visible above the clearing, evenly between the gap in the trees in the direction of the sea, looking like a sunrise or sunset. But something felt off about it. It was there where I encountered someone who appeared to be a renaissance knight, holding the sword I came back with. (They sigh, displaying distress and fatigue.)
Interviewer: If you'd like, we can end the interview here, and send you to see one of the therapists on staff before resuming.
Agent --: No, I'm… fine. I can continue. (Agent -- pauses briefly, attempting to recompose themselves.) When I met the knight, we talked. What looked like a sunrise, or sunset, was in view over the clearing, evenly above the gap in the trees on the side of the sea. But it felt, well, off somehow. After we spoke briefly, that's when the ovoids, cells I guess, activated. They started shifting, appearing to be some kind of defensive reaction where they were attempting to attack or engulf the knight and myself. (They shake their head, displaying regret and distress.)
Interviewer: Judging by the log, you spoke with this "knight", who handed you the sword they were carrying, instructing you how to perform a "go home" command. And you appear to have used it with little hesitation.
Agent --: I… think I hesitated. I'm not sure what came over me in that moment. I seemed to implicitly trust the knight, like they were someone I once knew. I think I hesitated briefly, but as the cells, er, ovoids started to engulf them, I think my fight or flight instinct kicked in. I used the command, with the sword I'd been given.
Interviewer: You know they could have been using a memetic agent on you. You came out clean, but that was a decided risk, using that sword like you did. (Interviewer sighs, holding a hand to their head and shaking it for a few moments, before continuing.) Going by the logs, you began to rise into the air, observing the ovoids engulf this "knight", before using the command you had been given, and being transported into the airlock of the research station we'd constructed after you went MIA.
Agent --: I'm really glad you guys work fast on that. Or I'd been out there longer than I thought, due to temporal displacement.
Interviewer: Well, you've already been informed the answer to that question.
Agent --: Yeah. (They pause briefly.) It's a relief I came out clean on mind-affecting effects, but I still feel bad about that knight. (They rest their arms on their knees, holding their hands to their face in an expression of fatigued distress, speaking through their hands.) I'm not sure what happened, but it felt like I wasn't thinking straight. (They make a gesture with their right hand.) Both in trusting the knight like that, and leaving him to die, even if I think I hesitated.
Interviewer: —- You should really see one of the shrinks once this is over. You need it.
*Agent --:** (Agent -- drags their hands down their face, looking up from between their fingers.) Yeah, you're right. Going by the info, it's been a long… three or four months. This has been the longest day of my life.
<End Log, ██:██, ██/██/2018>
Closing Statement: Agent -- had been missing for X days, during which time they were declared MIA and the research station around SCP-XXXX-1 had been constructed. Following interview, Agent -- was tested further for possible mind-affecting agents, concluding no lasting effects could be determined. In addition to this they were prescribed therapy for mild post traumatic stress.
Containment Class:
euclid
Item: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a secure storage locker at Site X, with access restricted to personnel with Level 2 security clearance or higher. Creation of instances of SCP-XXXX-1 using SCP-XXXX is to only be performed when approved by the head of research involving SCP-XXXX.
SCP-XXXX is prohibited from use on living beings under any circumstances. See [incident log X] and [probe exploration log X]. In the event that an instance of SCP-XXXX-1 has been generated in a living or deceased organism, SCP-XXXX is to be used to abort the instance of SCP-XXXX-1. The only exception to this is with SCP-XXXX-1G.
Abortion of instances of SCP-XXXX-1 using SCP-XXXX is to only be authorized by (personnel with a security clearance of Level 4 or higher). In the event that such an abortion has been authorized for an instance of SCP-XXXX-1, the instance and surrounding area are to be evacuated to a radius of one kilometer, with the procedure carried out via remote drone.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a short blade measuring [x], with an ornate design on the handle and engraved pattern on the flat of the blade, resembling celtic knot patterns. When SCP-XXXX is inserted into a wall or other surface, the blade will begin to emit light and heat. If used to carve the shape of a doorway into a surface, SCP-XXXX will generate a door. If SCP-XXXX is then removed from the surface where the door was generated and the flat of the blade is pressed against where a door handle would be located and then removed, it will generate one matching the design of the door, completing the generation of an instance of SCP-XXXX-1. Due to the variance of instances of SCP-XXXX-1 based on the surface and surrounding environment in which they are generated, instances of SCP-XXXX-1 will be recorded individually.
SCP-XXXX may also be used to abort instances of SCP-XXXX-1. When inserted into the surface containing the doorway portion of an instance of SCP-XXXX-1 and then drawn through the doorway before being removed, the instance of SCP-XXXX-1 will collapse, with a varying degree of violence as the pocket dimension it contains collaspes.
Recovery: SCP-XXXX was discovered after reports of residents and visitors to the (town/city of - [MA?]) (going) missing, or returning bearing stories of strange, seemingly endless structures or landscapes accessed through doors that should not lead to such locations. Further investigation led to the discovery of SCP-XXXX, in the possession of (student), a high school student attending (-). When approached by (agent —-) claiming to have been a former student at the school, (student) claimed to have something to show to the agent, before leading them to a back hall of the school's auditorium wing, before demonstrating the use of SCP-XXXX in generating an instance of SCP-XXXX-1.
(Student [Sten?]) was detained for questioning and confiscation if SCP-XXXX, before being [given] amnestics and returned to their home residence. See [interview log 1].

Exploration Team: Mobile Access Drone
Team Lead: Senior Researcher Dr. Janus Frank
Team Members: Junior Researcher Dr. George Arrington, Junior Researcher Dr. Darcie Henderson
Subject: SCP-XXXX-1-3
Notes: After reports of disappearances in the █████████ area confirmed to be related to the entrance to SCP-XXXX-1-3, a cordon was established around the area of SCP-XXXX-1-3's doorway, with a research team dispatched to perform initial exploration of the extra-dimensional space created by use of SCP-XXXX via and an automated exploration drone, to ensure no additional casualties would be suffered during investigation.
[BEGIN LOG]
Drone is powered on. Dr. Henderson is visible, tending to the drone's systems and parts during pre-operation checks. She adjusts the drone's camera arm.
Dr. Henderson: This thing on and working right? You getting the feed here, George?
Dr. Arrington can be heard speaking, offscreen.
Dr. Arrington: Getting the video clear as day. Looks like we're good to go. Dr. Frank?
Dr. Frank can be heard speaking, offscreen.
Dr. Frank: You're good to go. I'm giving the exploration a green light. Ease her in slowly and get a good look around.
Dr. Henderson finishes checks on the drone. After a few moments, the drone approaches the tree containing the entrance to SCP-XXXX-1-3 and uses a manipulator arm to open the doorway formed in the tree's bark. A moment is spent observing the opened doorway, which appears to lead directly through the tree to the same area of forest. Trees, foliage and terrain visible in close proximity through the doorway match identically to counterparts visible in outside surroundings.
Drone enters doorway, turning to investigate surroundings. Initial surroundings appear to continue to match the area around SCP-XXXX-1-3's doorway, however research team is not visible from around the tree's sides and is only visible while viewing through the doorway used to enter the space of SCP-XXXX-1-3.
Dr. Frank: Looks like SCP-XXXX-1-3's initial area matches near-indistinguishably from the surrounding area in which it is located. Proceed. You may now close the door to SCP-XXXX-1-3, when ready.
Drone observes Dr. Arrington move towards the doorway, reaching past observable limits to grab the handle and close the bark door.
(Note: At the moment the doorway was completely closed, the research team lost communications contact with the drone.)
Dr. Arrington: That's not good. Feed just cut out to the drone.
Dr. Henderson: Are you getting anything back? Would a signal boost work to cut through any interference?
Dr. Arrington: No, I'm getting nothing. Absolutely nothing. It's like the area past that doorway doesn't exist now that we closed the way through. Do you want me to re-open it?
Dr. Frank: Yes, but only for a brief moment to give the drone the command to perform automated exploration procedures. We don't want to take the risk of anything coming through that doorway to maintain connection.
Dr. Arrington: Got it.
(Note: When Dr. Arrington opens the doorway to SCP-XXXX-1-3, feed from the drone resumes, with playback of recorded footage showing it remained facing the doorway since it was closed, awaiting further commands.)
Dr. Arrington: There you are little buddy. You're going to have to do a job for us on your own, once we close this door. Now lets see what you find in there. Stay safe, okay?
Dr. Frank produces an audible sound from applying the palm of his hand to his forehead in exasperation.
Dr. Frank: You know you don't need to… baby talk that thing. It's just an automated drone, with limited AI for independent operations and self preservation. Clean it up. Be professional.
Dr. Arrington: S-sorry sir. Cleaning up commencing.
Dr. Henderson can be heard chuckling, briefly.
Dr. Frank: You as well, Henderson. We've got an exploratory operation to run, here. Be professional, even if you find your colleague's shenanigans… amusing.
Dr. Henderson: Y-yes sir!
After a few more moments while the research team sorts themselves out, the drone proceeds to head out into the forested area of SCP-XXXX-1-3, with the sound of a door closing behind it.
(Note: From this point onward until drone reestablishes contact with research team, footage is played from recordings, as contact is lost with team while the doorway is closed.)
Drone turns its camera arm to view the door, finding it has been closed securely, and resumes moving. It continues onward in a straight path for 14.6 minutes, noting surroundings and only deviating from course marginally to avoid obstacles.
Containment Class:
euclid
Item: SCP-XXXX
Object class: Keter Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX-1 is to be contained in a standard humanoid class containment unit at Site XX, with the addition of electromagnetic shielding which is to be kept constantly in full operation.
The containment unit housing SCP-XXXX-1 is not to be entered by personnel, with interaction limited to analog remote control armatures that contain no electronic components. Nutritional needs and any amenities deemed acceptable are to be provided through a small, electromagnetically shielded airlock separating the containment unit from its observation chamber. Waste is to be filtered through a specially designed processing system containing heavy electromagnetic fields.
A closed system computer server with conventional means of access is also provided, with no means of connection to systems outside of the containment unit. This system is fitted with an extension of the containment unit's electromagnetic shielding, which can perform an EMP burst to purge the system in the event of an emergency.
Any instances of SCP-XXXX-2 are to be contained in secure, electromagnetically shielded boxes when not contained with SCP-XXXX-1. All testing involving instances of SCP-XXXX-2 are to be performed by proxy in electromagnetically shielded rooms via analog armatures.
Under no circumstances are SCP-XXXX-1 and instances of SCP-XXXX-2 to be allowed contact with biological organisms or unsecured electronics outside of testing procedures, with contact with electronic systems containing a wired or wireless connection to other systems strictly prohibited.
In the event of a containment breach, site-wide electromagnetic countermeasures are to be activated, until all instances of SCP-XXXX-2 are located and contained. Biological infiltration by instances of SCP-XXXX-2 is to be treated with strong electromagnetic fields until the affecting instances can be removed from hosts for containment or terminated.
Description: SCP-XXXX-1 is a Caucasian female of mixed descent, formerly one █████ ██████. The subject displays innate knowledge with the functions and use of artificial and biological electronic systems, ranging from computers to nervous systems, and is capable of directly or indirectly manifesting instances of SCP-XXXX-2.
As of Incident XXXX-5-A, is it surmised that SCP-XXXX-1 is either an instance of SCP-XXXX-2 that has taken over the deceased body of █████ ██████, despite the subject's claims that it is the original individual, or is authentically the original individual, having been imparted its anomalous abilities as it claims to have been after a near death experience and contact with instances of SCP-XXXX-2.
The subject's ability to manifest instances of SCP-XXXX-2 is limited by electromagnetic interference, with a complete surrounding field limiting manifestation to within its boundaries. SCP-XXXX-1 has displayed a preference for or limit in manifestation of SCP-XXXX-2 from its own body or nearby electronics. SCP-XXXX-2 instances manifest via a combination of photon and electromagnetic manipulation, as well as momentary reality manipulation, with further testing to determine the precise means of manifestation ongoing.
SCP-XXXX-2 are electromagnetic entities, with appearances similar to cartoon-like, semi-holographic butterflies that are often formed out of flat block shapes with lighter borders. At the center of each instance is a cartoon-like face that often matches the design of the body. All instances invariably appear to possess a mischievous or devious behavior pattern, which is either displayed overtly or covertly.
Instances of SCP-XXXX-2 possess the ability to enter artificial or biological electronic systems, appearing to phase through solid matter. On entering an affected device or organism, instances display the ability to quickly gain control over the affected object or subject, which SCP-XXXX-1, some instances of SCP-XXXX-2, and affected human subjects describe as "being possessed".
Exposure to strong electromagnetic fields disrupts instances of SCP-XXXX-2, causing distress at lower levels, with higher levels causing termination with sufficient exposure. Exposure to electromagnetic fields similarly causes distress to SCP-XXXX-1, with higher levels causing [REDACTED].
Addendum: As of Incident XXXX-3-B, containment procedures for SCP-XXXX have been extensively revised, prompting reclassification to Euclid class following development of sufficient measures to contain SCP-XXXX-1 and instances of SCP-XXXX-2. This incident showed SCP-XXXX-2 possesses the ability to enter and control biological organisms, when it was previously believed it could only affect electronic systems.
As of Incident XXXX-5-A, efforts to locate and contain additional instances of SCP-XXXX-2, or other possible instances of SCP-XXXX-1, are ongoing.
