Special containment procedures: SCP-XXX is too be stored and taken care of at Site-146 in greenhouse-B, and is too be guarded by two armed guards at all times. Under no circumstances is anyone to enter greenhouse-B without proper clearance and military grade hazmat suits. In the events of humanoid falling under the influence of SCP-XXX, the humanoid in question is to be gently escorted to a padded containment cell to be restrained and taken care of by on-site staff for approximately 168 hours or until the humanoid fully awakes. In the events of a security breech, SCP-XXX is to be promptly doused in a flammable gel and incinerated.
Description: SCP-XXX is about two (2) square meters of mature and healthy herbs belonging to the Apiaceae family. The herbs in question appears to be a sub species of Petroselinum crispum also known as parsley. The growth rate, texture, smell, taste and overall appearance of SCP-XXX is non-anomalous, however ingesting or breathing in any amount of SCP-XXX will cause the person to enter a lucid or dreary state that will progressively worsen until the person falls asleep or collapses. Once asleep the SCP-XXX that was ingested will begin to break down into microscopic levels and enter the blood stream, this processes can sometimes cause thrombosis in people with weak immune systems or naturally thick blood. The Ingested SCP-XXX will eventually make its way twords the brain and begin to cause the person in question to produce a high amounts of serotonin, dopamine, and melatonin, causing hyper realistic and often times pleasurable dreams while simultaneously plunging them even deeper into an inescapable deep sleep. While in this deep sleep, people have been known to walk, talk, and even fight as if they where fully awake and conscious. Despite these impressive tropes, they are still almost completely unresponsive to their surroundings. As of right now there are no ways of waking up people from this deep sleep state, except for allowing the SCP-XXX to leave the persons blood stream (24 - 168 hours) and allow them to awake naturally. Once awake they will feel fully rejuvenated and well rested and will claim to have no memory of even coming into contact with SCP-XXX, or of any events that had taken place within the real world while under the influence of SCP-XXX's effects. instead they will have a long and extensive memory of the events that had taken place within their dream(s) that they had experienced while asleep.
Project: Siesta
Dear, Director Jessica Higgins
I am contacting you to inform you that due to the steady increase in security breaches throughout the Southern American region, the 05 council and ethics committee have decided that it is within the Foundation's best interest to aim you and your research teams focus towards a new highly classified project dubbed: “Project Siesta”. An overall summary of the project and details on Project Siesta will be provided below, however before reading more we would like to inform you that the executive decision has already been made, regardless of your opinion or position on the project and expect full cooperation from you and your research teams.
Thank you.
Project: Siesta
Project Siesta is too use SCP-XXX's unique properties to create a type of sleeping agent based drug to help further aid The Foundations efforts to secure, contain, and protect. The use of this drug may vary, however the main goal is to use it to calm down, or contain hostile keter class SCP. And if at all possible, we would like to get the drug to a point where it can be regularly implemented into special containment procedures for hostile or keter class SCP. As of right now we understand the death rate for use of SCP-XXX consumption is unfortunately high. We also understand that as of right now the best research team we have for the project would be your own. So we have decided to give all of your current staff researching SCP-XXX the option of either continuing their work and studies or to help us with Project Siesta. That being said however we will be sending in our own staff from Site-19, Site-23, and Site-03 to help aid and supervise the project. A list of the staff that have been selected can be found below:
Project supervisor(s):
Chris Hinkle
Dr. SangResearch assistant(s):
Dr. Chul
Dr. Mel
Dr. RozaGuard(s):
Lt. Jamsy
Lt. Gordan
As far as expectations of this project go we expect you and your teams to fully nullify any health risk of the drug to the point where it would be feasible safe for daily consumption. We also expect the drug to be able to be adminstraighted in a variety of ways including gas, injections, and supplements. We will begin the first trail test on [Enter date here] on pigs and mice. Once you and our teams have sent in positive results on phase one, we will move on to phase two. More specific details on this project will be posted when available. We expect to see results by at least the end of the month. If not we will take matters into our own hands.
- sincerely, [Enter proper people here]
