Description: SCP-4188 is an auditory memetic cognitohazard phenomenon that manifests as a transmission that occurs annually across public radio frequencies. Transmissions vary in length, content, and frequency appeared but maintain a signature tone pattern when beginning its transmission that discern it from standard frequency interference. SCP-4188 may take place on at any random date in a year and may last for as long as one hour. Transmissions typically resemble live recordings of ambience resembling that of a cave with backgrounds of a computer-generated vocal dialogue accompanied by what listeners describe as unsettling and generally disturbing cuts between different settings.
Attempts to trace the transmission to one central location prove difficult as efforts have placed the source to emerge from an indefinite amount of areas including:
