The evolution cave

The anomaly was first observed in the Australian outback close to a foudation research centre.
The cave sprung from the ground over night as if by magic and caused a minor earth quake alerting the researchers to its presence. The cave is almost entirely composed of bismuth and radiates a strong gleaming light. Research were ordered not to approach the cave and observe any anomalous activity that the cave may present. 3 days had passed with no such activity taking place, on the 4th day small lizards were seen entering the cave at will seemingly to escape the scorching heat of the outback. The lizards stayed with in the cave for 6 to 8 days before emerging.
Researchers noticed some physical changes to the a portion of the emerging lizards with dramatic effect.
Some had grown 10 times in size some what resembling dinosaurs and others had undergone other physical changes such as one lizard seen to have metallic scales on leaving the cave. Researchers captured this specimen and determined the scales were composed of some sort of steel alloy and were incredibly tough. Another lizard was seen to have grown functional wings protruding from its back and was able to maintain flight for 3 to 4 hours at a time, researchers were eventually able to capture it for examination, on doing so they established it had was genetically different from the others of the same species and had a slightly higher than normal radioactive reading suggesting the cave it self must also be radioactive. The variations of mutations that had occured in the emerging lizards were dramatic and were seemingly random but each giving the lizards advantages over the unaffected population.
Later test would prove these mutations were passed along to the offspring of the test subjects and even when mated with other mutated lizards.
After 5 months of observation the cave submerged back in to the mantle of the earth once again over night creating more seismic activity with the ground above closing up like a healing wound.
The anomaly has not been seen since and radar penetration shows no evidence of the cave existence below the ground but reports from the Nevada centre have indicated the appearance of cave emerging from the ground with the same description.
It appears the cave has the ability to move vast distances across the planet by what means we are not sure yet.
As of now there is more observation and examination left to be done.
