Item: SCP ???? (Persistant Eye)

Object Class: Euclid

Special containment Procedures: SCP- ???? is to be kept in a 1.5 meters wide by 1.5 meters long by 3 meters tall cube made of ballistic glass. One entry door made from ballistic glass that is minimum .75 meters wide by 2.5 meters tall is to serve as access to the room. A simple locking mechanism on the exterior of the door, such as a latch or bolt with a MPa of 2000 or more, is needed. One personal must be within 30 meters of SCP- ???? at all times. SCP- ???? is to be removed from container once a week to clean any residue that may build up on ballistic glass from SCP- ????. SCP ???? is to be herded in and out of containment by a 3 meter hook. All personal must wear class A hazmat protection while SCP- ???? is outside containment and/or cleaning is still under way. Any contact with Residue from SCP- ???? must be avoided. Any contact of residue to any macro organic organism longer than 30 centimeters must be contained as SCP- ????.

Description: SCP- ???? is a tall humanoid standing 2.5 meters tall. It is gaunt in appearance, its arms and legs almost stick like. A navy blue cloth seems to drape from its shoulders down to its calves. On closer inspection the cloth is part of its body. The most noticeable feature is its head which is a large eye. The eye resembles a normal human's but is is .5 meters in diameter and the stalk at the back curves down to attach at the neck.

A constant clear liquid covers the eye at all times. the liquid seems to stay at a constant thickness of 2 centimeters and never drips unless interacted with by contact with a foreign object. The fluid seems to serve two purposes. One is to protect the eye from outside particles. Any minor particles that collect on the fluid will drift slowly to the base of the eye where they will fall off with no residue from the liquid. The second purpose is for reproduction.

Any biological organism that makes contact with the fluid from SCP- ???? will notice immediate irritation at the point of contact. A rash will spread out in a radius of .25 meters from the original point of contact. the rash will intensify in redness and sensitivity for the next three hours. After which the infected organism will blacken everywhere else as the red area turns to pink and then white. The blackened area shribbles over the next 24 hours and warps into a new a gaunt body while the pale white area swells into an eye. After this a navy blue cloth like fabric grows out of the base of the neck area and a new SCP- ???? is born.

Other than its eye liquid, SCP- ???? seems docile and mostly harmless. It has a fondness for following around organisms of 30 centimeters in length or greater at a distance of 3-10 meters. It goes out of its way to not interact with any organism outside of following it. It also avoids touching anything with anything but its feet. Experiments have found that it will bend and twist its body at any point to continue following a targeted organism. Use its hands to brace itself in unstable situations seem to be a last resort.

What triggers SCP- ???? to follow an organism is still unknown. Its attention from one organism to another is sporadic. Any time SCP- ???? is separated from the creature it is following it will immediately target another. If no other is around it will frantically search for a new one. If a barrier keeps SCP from pursuing its target it will attempt to destroy the barrier even if it damages itself in the process.

SCP- ???? was found near antarctic base Asuka by a remote camera following penguins. SCP agents were called in to retrieve SCP- ????. When agents came within 30 meters of SCP- ????, it immediately turned attention to the agent in charge. It moved a directly to the agent as it could at a hurried walk. Other agents found that walking around SCP- ???? would not effect its attention. The SCP- ???? did not respond to verbal commands or warning gunfire but found it easy to move by physically guiding SCP- ???? to the nearby helicopter transport, as long as the agent leader stayed nearby.

On transporting SCP- ???? back the transport encountered turbulence. One retrieval agent lost their balance when trying to secure SCP- ???? to a seat and came in contact with the eye of SCP- ????. The retrieval agent remarked of feeling a burn on their arm and over the next few hours became unable to respond through wails of pain as their arm turned bright red to the forearm.

On arriving at the SCP site the affected agent was rasping calls to make the pain stop. Assigned researcher in charge denied approval to terminate the affected field agent. Both SCP- ???? and the effected field agent were taken to temporary observations rooms while the rest of the team was put in quarantine. The effected agents body began to wither over the next 20 hours as while the initial infected area swelled and turned white. During this period the pleas of the field agent weakened to mere gasps. As most of the features of the agent had shriveled into a thin black wrinkly husk the body convulsed and the last words came out of the agent in a clear voice. "They have not seen it."

For the next 4 hours the field agents husk state contorted and shaped itself to match thet of SCP- ????. The white growth became that of a human eye. From examination it was determined that the former field agents head had warped into the right arm, the left arm head swelled into the eye, the right arm into the right leg, the right leg into the left leg, and the left leg into the left arm.

The original SCP- ???? stayed calm as it was put into the observation room until all personal left the room. SCP- ???? then rushed to the door and attempted to break it's way out. It only calmed down when security personal entered the room. Assigned lead researcher to SCP- ???? Dr. ??? eventually determined the needs of having something to observe as the affected field agent went through the change. Both SCP- ???? are now secured in site ???.

Dr. ??? has found through controlled field experiments that SCP- ???? can respond to sound but only does so when hunting for targets to observe. This was discovered by dropping SCP- ???? in a large obstacle course with many visual obstructions. SCP- ???? followed audio ques to a class D personal hiding in the course.

There has been no successful attempts to communicate with SCP- ????.

Dr. ??? has gone forward with collecting and experimenting with the eye fluid of SCP- ????. After determining only organic material responds to it many test subjects have brought in. Among the organisms tested only those with biomass compatible to humans fully form into a new SCP- ????. Anything larger will leave some biomass unchanged and shed it. In one case the liquid was used on an elephant, targeting only the foot. A large portion of the leg under went the change but the rest of the elephant went unchanged. The elephant survived the process with enough sedatives.

Experiments with the eye fluids had similar results on SCPs with regenerative properties. Due to the slow transformation time most were able to shed off the new SCP- ???? without much effect. Large quantities of eye fluid were able to produce more SCP- ???? if spread over a wide enough areas. Some regenerative SCPs though did not respond at all.

Attempts at weaponizing SCP- ???? eye fluid has been so far less than effective against certain Katar class SCPs. Most are too adaptable and learn to terminate SCP- ???? from a distance. Also SCP- ???? seems to not be aware of defending itself against threats. Suggestions from R&D have been to use powered exo skeletons to lift and use SCP- ???? as a club against certain uncontrollably dangerous SCPs. Requests have been denied for the time being.

Autopsies on SCP- ???? have found that the main body is composed of ???. The material is as durable but due to the thickness SCP- ????s is more fragile than most humans. The eye is composed of all the same genetic material as a human eye but shares no DNA with any human.
