Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a well-lit, white padded cell to prevent damage. SCP-XXX is to be enclosed in a transparent glove box made of no less than 6-inch thick hard plastic walls accompanied by ballistic screen protectors. SCP-XXXX is to be ‘opened’ by a team of no more than one D-Class personnel members daily.
Description: SSCP-XXXX is a silver reflective semi-transparent polygonal sphere with a small red ‘button’ located on the top, which when pushed, opens an 2.5 centimeter section of the device for 4.2 seconds. This casing contains what appears to be a black-hole 12.5-centimeters in diameter. Infrared heat maps have shown that the interior temperature of SCP-XXXX fluctuates very rapidly from -295 to 537 degrees Celsius, whereas the exterior is consistently at the temperature of its surroundings (Roughly 24 degrees Celsius) and does not change during SCP-XXXX’s forced daily activation.
SCP-XXXX has shown no signs of being sentient nor mobile. The origins of SCP-XXXX, as well as the material used in its manufacturing are unknown, however traces of both Earthborn sand traced back to Cairo, Egypt (Roughly 2628 B.C) as well as dust particles that appear to be extraterrestrial in origin have been found. All attempts at recreating SCP-XXXX’s ‘casing’ have failed.
Addendum(X):| Number of days before last activation | Effect | |
| First recorded activation at Facility [REDACTED] | Almost instantaneous vaporization of subjects torso, arms, neck, and head. | |
| 1 (The Next day) | No effect | |
| 2 | No Effect | |
| 3 | Emission of SCP-XXXX has burned through subjects jumpsuit and has caused minor charring of the skin correlating to the direction in which the opening was facing. No major injuries or permanent scarring. | |
| Subjects are now informed to keep SCP-XXXX positioned such that its opening will directly face the subjects lower sternum. | Test variable inconsistencies/manipulation noted. | |
| 4 | Emission causes subject to be knocked back and suffers several micro-fractures in lower sternum as well as burning that will likely cause permanent scarring | |
| 5 | Emission causes an 8 centimeter hole to be formed in subjects sternum. Multiple layers of skin have been completely obliterated as well as 4th degree burns surrounding the effected area. Subjects chest cavity as well as Lungs and Heart are now clearly visible. Test subject was pronounced deceased 15 minutes later. | |
| 6 | Nearly Identical injuries to previous subject take place. | |
| 7 | Emission causes hole 10 centimeters in diameter to instantaneously tear through subjects chest and spine, accompanied by 4th degree burns covering most of the subjects upper body and neck. Subject was killed instantly. | |
| 8 | Nearly Identical injuries to previous subject take place. | |
| 9 | Emission causes subject to be dismembered in a horizontal line starting below the pectoral muscles. All affected tissue was cauterized instantly by the blast. Subject was pronounced deceased 2 minutes later. Cause of death: Massive organ failure, Spinal trauma, Severe burning. | |
| 10 | Emission causes subjects head to implode. Note that the subject was visibly shaking as a result of fear. This seems to be a combination of increased levels of instability in SCP-XXXX as well as changes in direction of the opening. | |
| 11 | No effect | |
| 12 | No effect | |
| 13 | No effect | |
| 14 | Subject is completely disintegrated with no visible traces of clothing nor charred remnants remaining. Minor cracks and tears in both the windows and walls of the test room form. Research staff conducting said experiment also report feeling the ground vibrate beneath them as a result of the impact. Testing is to cease immediately. | |
Closing Notes: Research staff members have concluded that SCP-XXXX becomes increasingly unstable with time. SCP-XXXX is to be placed in a reinforced glove box cabinet and activated daily.
