Special Containment Procedures: The perimeter around SCP-5XXX is to be guarded by electronic cameras at all times. No fewer than 2 cameras must be positioned on nearby roofs, trees, fences or other surfaces and recording. Any instance of flickering must be followed immediately by a circuit refresh. Attempts to break SCP-5XXX or cut off it's power supply have proven ineffective.
Description: SCP-5XXX is a streetlamp located in Wake County, North Carolina, in the city of [REDACTED]. It appears to be manufactured by LIGHT CORP1.
Its properties were first discovered when then-president Jimmy Carter visited a relative in the area. Mr. Carter noticed the lamp blinking the nuclear codes of 2/12/1980 - 2/21/1980. His aid alerted Foundation personnel, who confirmed the lamp's anomalous properties. A set perimeter was established around SCP-5XXX, and surveillance cameras were quickly set up.

Shepard: Sir, I think it may be a coincidence.
Carter: No, it's not! Damn thing's been blinking each day's codes. You think somebody's playing a sick joke?Shepard: No, this kind of shit happens all the time. There's a corporation for it.
Carter: Foundation? I don't think you need to contact them, but go ahead.
