Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5156 is to be kept in a standard-size steel containment unit. Any personnel wishing to access it must first play the video game Animal Crossing for one hour, unless the permission of. If any personnel with security clearance below Level 2 attempts to touch the object without following the above criteria, they are to be immediately terminated. If the last video game that they played was of the horror or fantasy genres, or otherwise involved characters that would have a high likelihood of causing a containment breach, the offender must be prevented from touching the object at all costs.
Description: SCP-5156 superficially resembles a standard console controller produced by ████ Corporation. However, when touched by any living human, its "A" button glows red, and a character from the last video game the subject played appears directly in front of them. If the subject has not played any video game within the last year, the object will instead use, in order of preference:
- The last movie or fictional video the subject watched
- The last book the subject read, with the characters as the subject envisions them
- The last original idea the subject had
SCP-5156 does not rely on the most recent media that the subject viewed, but rather what the subject believes to be the most recent media that they viewed.See Test 5156-1B If it is used as a ████ controller, it will not function, and will manifest a character on the title screen of the loaded game (since that is all that the subject can see of it.)
