SCP-XXXX when entering its anomalous state.

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained within a standard anomalous object containment locker at Site-23. Any experimentation involving SCP-XXXX requires permission from and supervision by a researcher with Level-3 clearance or higher. All experimentation is to be conducted within a specialized anomalous object container capable of incinerating its contents at temperatures exceeding 1,100°C upon an instance of SCP-XXXX-1A's appearance.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a Texas Instruments TI-83 graphing calculator with wear and yellowing consistent with age. SCP-XXXX's anomalous properties appear every day for approximately three hours. During this time, a heavily pixelated semi-circle appears on SCP-XXXX's screen, disappearing shortly after. After this point, any equation typed using the calculator's keypad will result in the screen becoming extremely bright. The user and SCP-XXXX disappear, possibly de-materializing1. Upon re-materialization, the subject and the calculator are located within an alternate dimension designated SCP-XXXX-1. While inside SCP-XXXX-1, loss of physical contact with SCP-XXXX for any period of time will result in the immediate loss of contact with the subject and SCP-XXXX's re-materialization within the original dimension.2 After entering SCP-XXXX-1, the user can leave only after the three hour duration has ended, via re-entering the equation into SCP-XXXX.

SCP-XXXX-1 shares many similarities with the original dimension, except humanity has progressed further technologically.3 No forms of life have been found inside this dimension, even on microscopic scales. Random assortments of objects replace life inside SCP-XXXX-1, designated SCP-XXXX-1A. These objects are glued together with a nanite liquid technology4, which far exceeds Foundation capabilities and derives energy from biological matter, to form a humanoid appearance and seem to possess no higher form of intelligence5, or any bodily systems whatsoever.6

Instances of SCP-XXXX-1A have been recorded in various states of disrepair which can effect movement. Instances are weak to blows to the waist level; which sever the torso from the legs, rendering them almost immobile. SCP-XXXX-1A instances have been constructed using various inorganic objects.

When in the presence of humans, SCP-XXXX-1A will become extremely hostile and attempt elimination of the person by any means. When inactive, SCP-XXXX-1A instances often remain motionless aside from occasional movements similar to muscle spasms. The nanite liquid adhesive holding the instances together is morphed into various shapes which then function as effective weapons. SCP-XXXX-1A instances have also been observed huddling in groups ranging from two instances, to several hundred. At the center of these groups there is usually a sphere of the nanite liquid, which instances of SCP-XXXX-1A are thought to use as a power source due to the lack of any biological life.

During examination of an inactive nanite specimen, a single nanite was found to be 1.5x larger than normal, and possessed an antennae like appendage which is not found on any other nanite. This antennae is thought to give radio or electrical signals to other nanites in order to control them.

SCP-XXXX came into Foundation custody on 2018-4-13 when a report of a disappearing student7 came into █████ Police Department. Approximately three hours after initial reports, new reports of the student reappearing from SCP-XXXX with major wounds flooded the department. Upon this news, Foundation agents began investigation. The Foundation successfully intercepted phone calls and sent MTF-Omicron 1 (Four-Pronged Spear) to handle recovery of SCP-XXXX. Recovery was successful and required amnestics were administered.
