Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX must be contained in an airtight container at least 21 m x 21 m x 21 m (68.8 ft x 68.8 ft x 68.8 ft). Two large motors must be placed on the outside of the containment to create vibrations to blind the subject. One bovine specimen must be given to SCP-XXXX every 4 months to prevent erratic behavior from the subject. If not fed a bovine specimen, the SCP will go on a complete rampage, destroying what it can until it is able to feed.
No personnel are permitted to enter the containment chamber unless both vibration motors are running as expected. Any malfunctions from either of the motors will result in an immediate evacuation of all personnel in the containment chamber, and immediate maintenance on the malfunctioning motor. In the event evacuation isn't possible, 2 backup motors positioned at the base of the containment are set off. These are only to be used in emergency, as maintenance is nearly impossible to be done on them.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a snake-like creature covered in a thin coat of maroon small hairs, with 20 small tentacle-like appendages around 3 meters (~10 feet) attached to a flat base of the SCP. These tentacles are used to feel and track vibrations from up to a mile away. Since SCP-XXXX does not have any sensory organs other than this, it seems to use them to traverse and track prey from long ranges. Its preciseness gets worse, the farther the distance the vibration comes from. Along with the other appendages, two armlike members protrude from the base, at twice the size of the other limbs (6 meters/19.6 feet). These larger limbs seem to have a wider range of motion than the smaller ones, so the SCP uses these to grip or attack objects. On the end of the “arms” three needles, hollow on the inside and around 1 meter in length, protrude from the tip. These needles are used to consume the blood of captured and/or fed victims. On the top half of the subject is a large mouth-like divot filled with spiny structures with small joints at the base resembling teeth used to grasp subjects. The subject from the tip of its mouth, to the tip of its longest arm is about 21 meters.
The attacking method of SPC-XXXX is first, to grasp the victim within its tooth like structures, and then repeatedly stab the subject with its “arms” until the needles reach a deep enough spot within the victim to extract a large amount of blood. When the victim is not able to be extracted anymore, the SCP will then consume the body within its mouth and use all of the nutrients from that body to attempt to grow another smaller limb. If the body does not contain enough nutrients, or isn't big enough, the limb will grow as large as it can with the nutrients given, and then dry up and fall off. Humans typically do not contain enough nutrients to finish this process, while bovine specimens do. This added limb will give it more sensory capability, making it even more sensitive to vibrations.
It has been proven by Dr.███████ SCP-XXXX can learn the basics of non verbal language, as he seemingly taught the subject to use morse code by tapping the ground while in the monitoring room. Dr.███████ tapped the word “Food” on the ground while the subject was being fed for about 3 years. The subject was then thought to understand the connection between the vibration intervals and the food given. It could repeat “Food” using its needled arms to tap the floor when it is time for it to receive a bovine specimen. After about 7 more years of constant training and testing, it seemed to be able to hold small, simple conversations with Dr.███████ and other staff members. Although only using vibrations as a way to communicate, the subject somehow was able to signify who is talking to him, and if they have met before. A D-Class personnel that knew Morse code very proficiently reported the subject trying to speak with him through the containment door before the vibration motors were set on. It was said to have said to him “Is food coming from out there?” and “Are you food?”. All of Dr.███████’s work seems to have proven a small amount of sentience from the subject. The subject seems to not have a direct hatred for humans, but an overwhelming desire to consume all that it can. It is often recorded that the subject apologises to human victims after consumption.
SCP-XXXX can move by pulling itself along with multiple of its smaller limbs. This strategy has been proven effective , as the subject can move at a max of about twice its length per second, or 95 mph. If the subject is chasing something and cannot catch the victim, it will use its longer limbs to reach out and lung forward at about 130 mph, but it cannot retain this speed for more than a few seconds.
An autopsy of SCP-XXXX revealed that it does not carry bone structures like most animals, it has a thin yet strong flexible spine of unknown material, that keeps the muscles doing what the creature intends, and also keeps the range of motion large. This spine stems out into both arms of the subject and out through the needle structures, meaning there is a connection between the spine and a digestive system of some sort.
