Special Containment Procedures: SCP-0162 is to be kept in a 1.75 (meter) by 0.5 (meter) airtight glass container at all times. Any handling of SCP-0162 is to be done only by level 3 personnel or higher wearing proper airtight hazmat apparatus and correctly fitting rubber covers. Personnel must also be trained in the identification and treatment of biological agents. If a crack is discovered in the glass, seal the room immediately, ensure that your breathing apparatus is secure, and await the arrival of a repair crew. Under no circumstances should you attempt to seal the fissure yourself, remove the artifact from its case, or engage in direct physical contact with the artifact.
Description: SCP-0162 is a bow of apparent native ██████n origin. When in contact with specific atmospheric conditions for extended periods of time, SCP-0162 emits a semi-transparent cloud of vapor commonly referred to as SCP-0162-2. The bow is exactly 1.65 (meters) in length by 0.35 (meters) in breadth. In every case, subjects who inhale SCP-0162-2 or come into direct contact with SCP-0162 report feelings of heightened senses, strength, and spatial awareness. Within 50-60 minutes of exposure to SCP-0162-2 Cognitive abilities begin to return back to normal, however, In rare cases, Subjects seem to lose control of all bodily functions, including their ability to move appendages, eventually leading to a severe cardiac or respiratory arrest. Subjects that came into direct contact with SCP-0162 appeared to gain the skill of master bowsmen, with a near 100% accuracy on moving targets of up to 100 (meters) away. After contact between SCP-0162 and the subject has been severed, the subjects express a feeling of unease and increased paranoia. As of Dec████/██/19██, it is still under consideration whether this paranoia is a direct result of SCP-0162 or whether it is merely caused by the subject's loss of enhanced senses shortly after loss of contact with SCP-0162. All subjects and staff exposed to SCP-0162 are required to attend at least three (3) psychiatric evaluation tests conducted by an official foundation psychiatrist within two (2) weeks of exposure. A stable variant of SCP-0162-2 is under development for use of SCP foundation agents and containment personnel.
Addendum: SCP-0162 was discovered by Agent [REDACTED] approximately 6██ mi. (miles) North of the ███es islands. After 3 days of tracking reports of anomalous activity through the dense rainforest, Agent [REDACTED] discovered SCP-0162 in the possession of the native [REDACTED] tribe. After the tribe refused the foundation's initial offer in exchange for the artifact, Agent [REDACTED] ruled that the release of Neurotoxin ██4 into the air in the immediate vicinity of SCP-0162 would bring about the containment of the artifact in a quicker and more effective mannerism. Local authorities were told that a sudden outbreak of █████ was to blame for the tribe's demise. Ground zero is to be under 24-hour guard at all times and is to be officially labeled as a quarantine zone until further notice from the site commander or at least two (2) level 4 foundation employees.
