Item #: SCP-4119
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4119 is to be contained within a 15m x 15m x 10m chamber constructed of reinforced steel. Each surface of the chamber should be lined with 20cm titanium. The lining should be inspected daily, and if any damage is noticed, it is to be reported and replaced immediately. During the changing of chamber lining, SCP-4119 is to be heavily sedated. SCP-4119 is to be fed 7kg of varied raw fish and meat two times (2x) daily. Due to the nature of SCP-4119, there is no set routine or time for feeding or maintenance checks in order to avoid containment breach. No fewer than two (2) armed guards are to be stationed outside of SCP-4119’s chamber at all times.
Description: SCP-4119 is a large, quadrupedal winged reptile-like creature. It is roughly 3 metres tall, 7 metres long and has a wingspan of around 10 meters. It has thick, black scales coating its body, and the scales and membrane on specimen's wings are almost impenetrable. It has white eyes with no visible iris or pupil, and its eyesight appears to be extremely poor except at very close range. It is almost completely blind in darkness.
The tail of SCP-4119 is coated with a layer of minute hairs that are barely visible to the naked eye, and exposure to these hairs (even if they are not attached to SCP-4119) in humans will cause extreme irritation. It has caused one (1) subject to scratch through their own skin until blood was drawn (see Addendum 4119-01). If the hairs come into contact with the human eye, it will result in temporary blindness. The duration of said blindness varies depending on how long the subject was exposed to the hair, the longer the hair being in contact with the eye, the longer the blindness lasting.
SCP-4119 is capable of emitting an unknown gas when breathing out, if it chooses. If inhaled by a human it causes drowsiness, eventually causing the subject who inhaled it to fall unconscious. SCP-4119 is also capable of shooting a hot material of unknown origin from its mouth. The blast is extremely bright, and is shot at a high speed. Testing on the blast has been unsuccessful, as it seems to disappear almost immediately after burning or melting an object, and the area around it cools rapidly. It is extremely hot and capable of burning through or melting most materials, though the exact temperature is unknown. SCP-4119 also has an acute sense of hearing and smell.
SCP-4119 is not capable of speech. SCP-4119 is capable of speaking and understanding English and Norwegian (see Addendum 4119-02). It is currently unknown whether SCP-4119 understands other languages, though it is assumed that it does not. SCP-4119 has shown extreme intelligence, and has grown to recognise routines and habits of personnel members. It also appears to know the names of any personnel it comes into contact with, even those it is meeting for the first time. It is currently unknown whether the ability to learn names is anomalous or whether it is found out through other means (it is assumed to be the former).
Although SCP-4119 tends to speak in a friendly manner when conversing with personnel, it is not uncommon for it to attempt to manipulate staff. In most cases, it tries to make personnel feel sympathy towards it and encourages them to free it.
Additional Notes: SCP-4119 was found in [REDACTED], Norway.
Addendum 4119-01: D-████
D-████ was exposed to SCP-4119's hair for approximately twelve (12) minutes. During this time, the subject was both visibly and audibly distressed, and once the hairs were removed, the subject began to rub at his arm. Roughly three (3) minutes after the hair was removed, D-████ began scratching at the skin where SCP-4119's hair has been as well as the area around it. It was around seven (7) minutes in when blood was drawn, and the test was stopped at this point. After around twelve (12) hours, the effect had worn off completely.
Addendum 4119-02: First speech
SCP-4119 had been placed in a temporary holding cell while the lining of its normal containment chamber was being replaced. Dr. Jones was to relocate the specimen to its original chamber. For security reasons, he was to be accompanied by four (4) armed guards, although SCP-4119 was not restrained in any way due to the normally docile behaviour it has exhibited.

(Dr. Jones enters SCP-4119's temporary containment chamber, whistling.)
SCP-4119: (No audible response)
(Dr. Jones leads SCP-4119 out, now accompanied by two (2) Class-D personnel and four (4) armed guards. He is still whistling.)
SCP-4119: Hva… er det?
(Dr. Jones stops whistling. There is stunned silence for 3 seconds.)
Dr. Jones: Wh-What was that?
(there is no response for 11 seconds.)
SCP-4119: Ah… sorry. What was the sound? It was pleasant.
Dr. Jones: It was, uh… I'm very sorry, it's just… we assumed you were incapable of speech.
SCP-4119: (Unintelligible) Oh, no. I just saw no need until now.
