Special Containment Procedures: SCP-1791-J remains beyond the control of any known mean, including those of the Foundation. In the event of SCP-1791-J, thoughts, prayers, and other routine responses are to be deployed immediately as a part of the standard cover-up efforts.

Description: SCP-1791-J refers to a series of recurring events that happen regularly in the United States of America. When SCP-1791-J manifests, one or more individuals in the affected area are turned into SCP-1791-1-J and start to attack other individuals in its vicinity with firearms indiscriminately.

The Foundation has not yet been able to identify a method to contain or predict the onset of SCP-1791-J. Experienced Foundation researchers in SCP-1791-J state that it is currently not possible to stop an SCP-1791-1-J from manifesting if "that's what he really wanted".

In so far, SCP-1791-J has not been observed outside of the nation of the United States of America. The reason for this anomaly hasn't been fully understood by the Foundation and is still under investigation. Note that spotted occurrence of similar events outside of the nation is not to be associated with SCP-1791-J due to their scarcity and irregularity.

As a result of SCP-1791-J, the United States of America has suffered over half of the world’s deadliest mass shootings that have occurred in the past 50 years and its citizens are 20 times more likely to die of gun violence than those of other developed nations. Remedies are constantly being researched on a 4-year cycle.
