Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be guarded by at least three personnel at all times, with bi-hourly rotations. SCP-XXXX is contained within an 18x12 meter cylindrical container in Site-76. SCP-XXXX is to be suspended in the center of the container using hydraulic pistons. An observation room is accessible via elevator. Class D personnel are the only personnel authorized to enter the containment cell for testing.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a large stone head, scaling 1 meter tall and 1 meter wide and weighing 226 kilograms. SCP-XXXX resembles a traditional Olmec Colossal Head, made from basalt. When within a 5-meter radius of SCP-XXXX, subjects report hearing a deep voice begin speaking to them, offering them what the subject most desires. Most subjects report SCP-XXXX offering them freedom from the facility, and to go back to their normal life. Other common offers are great wealth, power, or immortality. SCP-XXXX always tells the subject that to claim their reward, they must place their hand on its forehead. SCP-XXXX is able to speak English, Russian, Korean, French, Portuguese, Nahuatl, Maya, Chinese, Japanese, ███████, Afrikaans, German, and Spanish. While SCP-XXXX Can hold a conversation, it generally refuses to do so without a promise of tribute.

If the subject is allowed to stay with SCP-XXXX, in most cases, the subject will place their palm onto the forehead of SCP-XXXX, then quickly begin to petrify into basalt. The subject then sinks into SCP-XXXX in a process that takes on average, 30 minutes. Around 10 to 15 hours later, the subject is ejected from the mouth of SCP-XXXX in the fetal position. Autopsies reveal that all bodily systems except the epidermis are untouched. The exact scientific process for this is not yet clear.

When nearing SCP-XXXX, subjects report hearing faint whispering and singing. Most subjects also report severe tinnitus, but this stops when entering SCP-XXXX's zone of effect. These effects persist for varying amounts of time after leaving the cell, ranging from 2 minutes to 4 days.

Drilling into the back of SCP-XXXX using a high-pressure stream of water has revealed that SCP-XXXX contains blood, and possibly more organic tissues inside. Upon doing so, however, SCP-XXXX begins to violently shake, and cause damage to the hydraulic system. X-ray is unable to reveal anything past SCP-XXXX's basalt exterior. Testing trials to use SCP-XXXX's blood in a blood transfusion to see it's effects have not been cleared as of ██/█/████.

Dr. Price: Alright, this log is dedicated to the retrieval of SCP-XXXX. I am here with Captain Bronson, who lead the team tasked with retrieving SCP-XXXX. Captain, would you like any opening statements?

Capt. B.: No thanks, egghead, except that we lost Private ████████ because you didn't exactly tell us how close we had to be to the damn thing for it to start fucking with our brains.

Dr. Price: Yes, that is unfortunate, however, that is not what we are to discuss today. Would you please start when you first arrived at ████████?

Capt. B.: Sure. So, after leaving the rendezvous point, we headed to where y'all told us it was. Lo and behold, it was sitting on a large totem at the top of, uh… I think it was called the Temple of ████████. The whole place had these little statues surrounding the temple, except they weren't statues. They were people, Doc.

Dr. Price: How were you sure of this?

Capt. B.: Well, Private ███ kicked one over, and the head shattered. He snuck a quick peek inside and stumbled. Looked like someone put a slab of minced meat in the microwave for too long. Old rotten brains inside a skull. We broke open a few more, and all had rotten organs in them. Must have been dead for a while.

Dr. Price: Of course, the records indicate that those corpses were from 327 B.C. The fact that there was anything left inside is astounding.

Capt. B.: Well whatever you want to call it, it was disgusting. Anyhoo, after that fiasco, we started climbing the steps of the temple. Private ████████ was the first up there, he stood for a few seconds, just staring at it. Not a word, not even a sound, fuck, he didn't even breathe. Just reached his hand up, and touched it. He started to turn to stone-

Dr. Price: Basalt, to be exact.

Capt. B.: Hey, shut up and let me finish. [Dr. Price quietly looks down at his papers] Thank you. As I was saying, he started to turn to stone, or basalt, or whatever. Agent █████ was about to pull him off before I yelled at him to "Get the fuck back".

Dr. Price: He wasn't affected by SCP-XXXX?

Capt. B: Dunno, I didn't let him get close enough.

Dr. Price: I see. How did the extraction go?

Capt. B.: Just dandy, we signaled the Cargobob to come and pick it up. They lowered the crane, and lifted it halfway, then flew off to the facility. We returned to our rendezvous point to be picked up. Only one fatality, how fuckin' swell is that?

Dr. Price: Once again, I regret to hear about the departing of Private ████████. I should notify you that SCP-XXXX regurgitated him in the form of the statues that you were speaking of.

Capt. B.: Shit, you sure it's him?

Dr. Price: The dental records confirm it. Anyways, That's all the information we need. Do you have any closing statements Captain?

Capt. B.: Nope. I don't feel like talking about this anymore.

Dr. Price: Okay, This is Dr. Price with Captain Bronson, signing off.

SCP-XXXX: No.

Dr. D.: This is important information. I'll ask again, would you please begin by explaining your origin?

SCP-XXXX: you could not understand my creation.

Dr. D.: Fine, we can get that information later. Would you explain what you gain by consuming human beings?

SCP-XXXX: It is entertaining.

Dr. D.: What pleasure do you gain from causing pointless suffering?

SCP-XXXX: Any pleasure.

Dr. D.: There must be some other reason, we know that you have organic material inside you. Surely you must have a stomach or some sort of digestive system. All living things need energy from food.

SCP-XXXX: I do not live.

Dr. D.: Then how are you speaking to me? You're sentient, which means you MUST be alive.

SCP-XXXX: I exist.

Dr. D.: I see-

SCP-XXXX: You do not see.

Dr. D.: What? What do you mean?
