A section of SCP-XXXX's interior where the organic part is visible.

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures:
Containment is currently focused on the demolition of any nearby unrelated structures, as well as cutting off its sources of materials and nutrients to stop it from growing.

Researcher Kessel's proposal:
As anything constructed to limit SCP-XXXX's growth will eventually become a part of the anomalous facility itself, nothing can be done with the current understanding of the anomaly to keep SCP-XXXX contained. Instead, the organism must be trained and sustained manually to keep it from growing out of hand. This is accomplished by fulfilling its need to grow through other means. Research suggests these methods include powerful electromagnetic waves in an attempt to cause a relaxing euphoric feeling, but further exploration is required to fully secure the anomaly.

Director Edward's proposal:
In contrast to the first proposal, Dir. Edward suggests that non-standard building materials can stop the anomaly from growing. Any unrelated buildings within a 50-meter radius from the building's edges must be demolished and in the same 50-meter distance, a half-meter thick wall of corrugated steel must be constructed. This wall should be extended as far underground as budget allows, due to the nature of the anomalous facility.

Description:
SCP-XXXX is a self-sustained organic containment facility located in High Desert, Oregon. SCP-XXXX can combine any structures near its perimeter into itself, and it can grow itself. There are no logs in the Foundation Archives that document the construction of the facility. The facility has been found to contain the SCP Foundation logo as well as the symbols used by the foundation. The facility extends several hundred meters underground and outside, it presents itself as a normal office building. The facility contains 9 known access levels. More areas may be under construction.

SCP-XXXX emits electromagnetic waves, suspected to be a method of communication. The organs of the facility include man-made machines (e.g. pneumatic mail tubes functioning as a circulatory system), as well as fleshy organic material growing on some of the walls of the building, containing nerve tissue.

Addendum 1:
This is log entry one. Our team has been in the facility for a few days now. I think there's supposed to be 6 of us, but I can only count 3. We're on a research trip remotely conducted by Kessel, but it's starting to look fruitless. Two of our team members have been crushed under unstable walls and one has drowned in the fleshy organic mass.

Addendum 2:
This is log entry one. The demolition crew has arrived outside the facility entrance. Meanwhile, the construction team is down in the factory getting the corrugated steel prepared. Edward has started asserting dominance over Kessel, and our team mostly agrees that the research team is about to be benched.

Addendum 3:
This is log entry two. We're on our third trip here, and our data is starting to prove useful as the laboratory back in Site-64 is starting to decipher the electromagnetic communication. We may be able to calm the anomaly, should it prove sentient.

Addendum 4:

AUDIO LOG

NOTE: Construction log for Edward's proposal

[BEGIN LOG]

15:34: CONSTRUCTION TEAM: This is log entry two. Construction of the corrugated steel wall has started, and we've been able to dig the sheets to a depth of around 115 meters. The director thinks it's enough.

15:34 KESSEL: You really think your wall will stop this? The facility extends up to 12 miles underground.

15:35: EDWARD: Kessel, your project has gone on long enough. It's time to take action.

15:35 KESSEL: Really, now? Well, we've just figured out a way to communicate with the anomaly. If its sentient, we might even be able to work together with it, and it could provide a new facility for us to use.

15:35 EDWARD: And what could we give back to such a large beast?

15:35 KESSEL: We'll just have to wait and see.

[END LOG]

Addendum 5
Our research has discovered SCP-XXXX to be sentient. Director Edward has put the wall construction on hold, and high-power EM towers are being set up around the perimeter of the facility. The anomalous organism has shown a positive response to the signals being sent after relatively minor adjustments. After

Addendum 6
Genetic research on the organic mass has lead to the discovery of the facility's origin. The facility is grown from the remains of a previously breached anomaly which has now been reclassified as SCP-XXXX-1.
