-Dr. Elizabeth Sham

Item #: SCP-5057

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5057 itself requires no special containment procedures, and is kept in Dr.Sham's laboratory. Use for testing is allowed, with Dr.Sham's authorization. SCP-5057 is kept in Site-19, in a bio-containment cell in the Research facility. Testing is forbidden unless approval of the O5 council.

Description: SCP-5057 is a 150cm in length and 70cm in width typical laboratory glass cage used to keep mice for testing purposes. It was found and retrieved by foundation personnel on 04/06/1992 in a ravaged subterannean laboratory in Berlin, Germany. The laboratory contained several advanced technologies available to the Foundation, but unknown to the public, mostly around genetic modification. It is estimated that more than one instance of SCP-5057 existed, although only one has been found among the debris.
When a specimen that fits the enclosure is introduced to SCP-5057, it will begin rapidly reversing its life cycle, until reaching a single-celled egg stage. The specimen will stay in this stage for 2 hours, then beginning a new life-cycle. The enclosure will sustain the individual until it is removed and thus needs no nutrients, water or temperature control.

Initial recovery log - 04/07/1992

Experimenters in charge:
Dr.Elizabeth Sham, Researcher Ruben Towe

Note:
Upon approval of O5-council, Dr. Sham, head of the genetics department, was given custody of SCP-5057, along with a damaged notebook containing notes written by the original owner of the anomaly. They have been sent to the bibliography department to transcribe from german to english.
Testing is unadvised until the notes's recovery is complete.

Due to the damage the book has suffered from, some of the words or letters are unintelligible, and most of the pages can't be retrieved. I did manage to get some in clear condition. Sorry about that.
