SCP-5XXX: Be Careful what you Wish for

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5XXX is to be stored in Containment Unit 19 at Site-96. Playing SCP-5XXX is strictly forbidden.
MTF Iota-6 (“Raging Clowns”) is to be stationed near the headquarters of HAL Laboratory in case of a SARMENTISCURRAE-type scenario.

Description: SCP-5XXX is a copy of the 1996 video game “Kirby Super Star”, believed to have been made before the game was released to the public. Six out of the seven games included with SCP-5XXX do not have any anomalous properties. However, the sixth game, “Milky Way Wishes”, contains several anomalous alterations which become more severe the further a player progresses. The anomalies are mostly textual in nature, and chiefly are about the character Marx, hereafter referred to as SCP-5XXX-1.
The anomalies have wide ranging effects. Several anomalies are cognitohazardous, several of them are memetic hazards which will make the player perform certain rituals, and several anomalies will trigger anomalous events around the world. The final anomaly, which occurs after defeating SCP-5XXX-1 in the game, causes [DATA EXPUNGED], which has been deemed by the Foundation as a SARMENTISCURRAE-type scenario.
SCP-5XXX was first discovered by the foundation on September 6th, 1996, when a SARMENTISCURRAE-type scenario resulted in catastrophic damage to the Tokyo Metropolitan Area, with the epicenter of destruction being at the headquarters of HAL Laboratory. Numerous MTFs were called in to clean up the damage to the city, and deliver mass amnestics to the population. A cover story was delivered to news agencies, saying the scenario was the result of an earthquake. After cleaning up the HAL Laboratory headquarters, MTF Pi-1 ("City Slickers") located a copy of SCP-5XXX within the office of Kirby creator Masahiro Sakurai, and confiscated it.

If anyone is reading this, please, I beg you, whatever you do… don’t assume this thing can lay dormant. I’ve been tracking it’s movements… it’s pushing through, and hard. It will find a way through eventually, and when it does… the world as we know it is over.

Something weird has been happening… I know in the game, the numbers 19, 9 and 6 have some powers that help him, some mystical property like the number 5 in Fifthism. But come on, no one’s noticed that 9 and 6 keep appearing in the Containment procedures? Containment Unit 19 at site 96? The MTF’s number is Iota (9) 6? THE SKIP’S NUMBER IS XXXX?!?

… I think it’s influencing the Foundation… it has to be…

I definitely feel it, it’s another one of those Gods that’s closing in our reality. I don’t know why our world hasn’t ended already…

I’m getting off track. But I can feel it’s influence spreading further. The Cults have been acting up more and more. They can sense it too… It’s trying harder and harder…

Dr. Yashida’s decent is… really peculiar. I’ve never seen any researcher with no prior mental health issues go that mad, that quickly, before. Perhaps he just went from his work, maybe SCP-5XXX-1 did infect his brain, we’ll never know. But… the weird corruptions and cognitohazards make me feel like the latter.

I’ve selected some entries of his journals here, and I’ve shut down that cell. I don’t want any more people succumbing to whatever came to Yashida. And I do think it’s weird that 9 and 6 come up over and over again… perhaps that should be investigated.

Also… I don’t know how that image ended up on his computer… that’s supposed to be classified.
