Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained within a locked safe in Dr. Delsi’s temporary office. Testing of SCP-XXXX has been indefinitely suspended due to widespread unprofessionalism during the testing process. Any staff member that attempts to remove SCP-XXXX from containment and proceed with unauthorized testing will be punished with citation or suspension, depending on the subject’s previous involvement with SCP-XXXX.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a 10cm by 10cm pocket calendar made out of cardstock paper. A set of black, aluminum rings run along the top of SCP-XXXX, holding its pages together. Each page is allocated one month. Various samples of messy writing can be found throughout it, including a year inscribed on the front cover.(1) Regardless of the passage of time, SCP-XXXX’s pages and front cover will always be accurate to the current year, and seem to align with (REDACTED)’s Standards and Policies For Calendars.

Every month inside SCP-XXXX has a specific date circled, alongside 2-4 arrows pointing at said date. Below the circle is a subtitle reading “WHAT A HORRIBLE DAY!” These dates can appear anywhere throughout the month, but are most common in the second or third week, and are typically mondays or wednesdays. Fridays, while rare to be selected by SCP-XXXX, are always chosen if they are the 13th day of the month.

SCP-XXXX’s main anomolous property manifests on this date, under specific circumstances:

The object can only affect an adult human capable of reading and understanding the text within the calendar.
The subject must have the object on their person for at least 3 hours before the specified date.
The subject must be asleep before 11PM the day prior.
The subject must hold SCP-XXXX while asleep, either in their hand or in a pocket.

If all these conditions are met, the holder of SCP-XXXX (now designated as its “victim”) will be immediately transported to SCP-XXXX-A at exactly midnight, alongside with any currently worn clothing or similar items.

SCP-XXXX-A is an alternate dimension that changes based around its victim’s day-to-day life. This dimension is virtually indistinguishable from the real world, and can mimic everything from people to locations - the only constant that SCP-XXXX-A retains is its “format.” The dimension simulates a standard working-class day, including waking up, having breakfast, commuting, working, etc., however it appears to have a flexible definition of “work.” SCP-XXXX-A has proven to be very versatile, but will change key details about its victim’s life in order to match its pre-defined structure. The victim is not cognisant of these changes. While the victim has free will to interact and move around SCP-XXXX-A on their own, certain events will occur at fixed times (all within 24 hours.) These events are tailored to cause harm to the victim, and grow more violent as the day progresses.

All of the events inside SCP-XXXX-A appear to be linked to bad luck, albeit to an extreme degree. A timeline has been constructed below for testing purposes.

12:00 AM: Victim transported to SCP-XXXX-A.
02:12 AM: Victim begins to experience a nightmare (usually concerning a subject-specific phobia.) Unpredictable movements and spasms begin.
04:23 AM: Victim rolls off the bed due to restless sleep, tangling themselves in sheets.
04:45 AM: Victim rolls towards the underside of the bed, and will go underneath if the subject’s bed allows it.
04:56 AM: Victim’s movements slow down.
06:00 AM: Victim is woken up by an alarm nearby, emitting a sound considered very irritating by the victim.

It is possible for a victim to bring objects to SCP-XXXX-A if they are wearing or holding it entirely on their person(2).
