Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX-1 and -2 are to be kept in a safe in Doctor Marshal’s office. Testing is only to take place between D-Class personnel and/or SCP-XXXX-3 with, at a minimum, two (2) researchers and one (1) security officer within 10 meters of testing. Two (2) or more tests on an individual in which they wield SCP-XXXX-1 is prohibited¹, due to possibly dangerous side effects. Tests between XXXX-3 and more than one (1) D-Class personnel are prohibited under all circumstances. No exceptions.
SCP-XXXX-3 is to be contained in a standard humanoid containment cell furnished with basic furniture, including a small table to write and/or draw on. Any requests for new items are to be reported to the Site Director to be either approved or disapproved. XXXX-3 is not to be given any form of electronic entertainment with a connection to the internet, as to prevent contact between it and friends/relatives. XXXX-3 is not to be given any form of blade, including especially ice skate blades²

Description: SCP-XXXX is a knife, designated SCP-XXXX-1, with a paired, matching sheath, designated SCP-XXXX-2.
In further detail, SCP-XXXX-1 is a knife with a blade approximately 30 cm long, and a handle approximately 15 cm long. The blade is comprised of stainless steel and has a design resembling snowflakes etched in. It has been confirmed that the blade comes from a detached and repurposed ice hockey skate blade of the brand ███. The handle of SCP-XXXX-1 is carved from oak wood, is painted a light blue color with black accents, and is carved with a similar pattern to the etching on the blade. The phrase “Ice Cold Justice” can be found carved into both sides of the handle. The effect of XXXX-1 only activates if either, 1) it is used in self defense, or 2) it is used to defend another person. If either of these conditions are met, upon contact, the blade will begin to glow a pale blue color for up to 5 seconds, before abruptly returning to its original color and encasing the attacker in a layer of unbreakable³ ice between 2 and 6 cm thick. If used to attack an innocent person, the blade will bounce off of the subject with no harm done. The blade has the effect of a non-anomalous knife on non-organic materials.
SCP-XXXX-2 has an outer layer of light blue fabric with black lace snowflake, similar in color to the handle of SCP-XXXX-1. The inner layer is comprised of a tough, black leather, presumably cow’s leather. SCP-XXXX-2 bears a strap approximately 200 cm long, which can be worn either over a person’s shoulder or around a person’s waist. XXXX-2 is unable to be cut by -1 by any form of knife, sword,or blade, regardless of the force applied.
SCP-XXXX-3 is a teenage girl, ██ years old at the time of containment, and the creator of SCP-XXXX-1 and -2. XXXX-3 is a defense member of the █████████████████ all-girls ice hockey team based in ██████████, ██████████. It is described as a protective and justice-driven person by its teammates. It is assumed that its need for justice possessed XXXX-1 upon its creation. XXXX-3 appears to be immune to any negative side effects of repeated use most effects of -1.

SCP-XXXX was first brought to the Foundation’s attention on March ██, 20██ when police in █████████ Borough, ██████████ reported a manslaughter case in which SCP-XXXX-3, wielding SCP-XXXX-1, stabbed a man in self-defense⁴ outside of a ████████. Upon contact with the assailant, the blade appeared to glow a pale blue color before abruptly returning to its original color and seemingly freezing the assailant in a layer of ice approximately 3 cm thick. A field agent embedded in the local law enforcement arrived on the scene, where SCP-XXXX-1, -2, and -3 remained, with XXXX-3 seemingly in a state of distress. The field agent in question called in a nearby containment squad, SCP-XXXX was contained, and the local area amnesticised. Security footage of the area at the time was collected and deleted from local databases.
SCP-XXXX-3 is incredibly cooperative with researchers, security officers, and containment specialists, often being considered cheerful by those who communicate with it. It has a rather withdrawn disposition when in the presence of D-class personnel, which becomes more apparent when around D-class personnel who have committed higher degrees of crime⁵. Test A - April 16, 20██

Subject: SCP-XXXX-1 and -3, one (1) D-class personnel, designated D-XXXX-4, convicted of selling illegal drugs, armed with a standard survival knife.
Procedure: XXXX-3 wielding -1 enters a room containing a table with two chairs. D-XXXX-4 is sitting in the chair opposite of the entrance to the room. Prior to testing, personnel is instructed to wait approximately one (1) minute before attacking XXXX-3. XXXX-3 is not informed ahead of time of the presence of D-XXXX-4.
Results: Upon entering the room, XXXX-3’s shoulders raised slightly and began holding -1 in front of itself. Regardless, -3 sits across from D-XXXX-4. After approximately one (1) minute has passed, D-XXXX-4 stands up, and walks over to XXXX-3 before pulling out the knife given to them before testing. Once the D-class personnel swings at XXXX-3, -3 jabs at the stomach of D-XXXX-4. Upon contact with the personnel, XXXX-1 begins its effect, and D-XXXX-4 is encased in ice.
Analysis: Assumed effects of XXXX-1 are confirmed in the test. Follow-up testing with XXXX-1 is required with subjects other than XXXX-3

Test B - April 21, 20██

Subject: XXXX-1 and -3, one (1) D-class personnel, designated D-XXXX-5, convicted of multiple DUIs, unarmed.
Procedure: XXXX-3 wielding -1 enters a room containing a table with two chairs. D-XXXX-5 is sitting in the chair facing away from the entrance to the room while wearing noise-canceling headphones. Prior to testing, XXXX-5 is instructed to walk up behind D-XXXX-5 and jab XXXX-1 into the back of D-XXXX-5’s neck.
Results: Upon entering the room, XXXX-3 has no visible change in posture, in contrast to the previous test. As instructed, -3 walks up behind D-XXXX-5, who is facing away from XXXX-3, and jabs the knife toward their neck. Upon contact, the blade of XXXX-1 bounces back, with no visible harm done to D-XXXX-5.
Analysis: XXXX-1 appears to have no effect on individuals with no intent to harm the wielder. The lack of posture change in XXXX-3 appears to signify that it can sense the danger level of certain people.

Test C - May 5, 20██

Subject: XXXX-3, armed with a standard survival knife, and one (1) D-Class personnel, designated D-XXXX-6, armed with XXXX-1.
Procedure: XXXX-3 is instructed to attack D-XXXX-6 with the supplied survival knife. XXXX-3 is not informed of the presence of XXXX-1 in the room. D-XXXX-6 is instructed to retaliate to XXXX-3’s attack using XXXX-1.
Results: Upon entering the room, XXXX-3 attacks D-XXXX-6. D-XXXX-6, following instruction, retaliates by jabbing XXXX-1 into XXXX-3’s abdominal area. The blade of XXXX-1 bounces off of XXXX-3, leaving no physical damage.
Analysis: It appears that XXXX-3 cannot be affected by XXXX-1, regardless of if the necessary conditions for activation are met.

Test D - May 17, 20██

Subject: Three (3) D-Class personnel, designated D-XXXX-7 through -9. D-XXXX-7 is armed with XXXX-1, while -8 and -9 are armed with standard survival knives. D-XXXX-7 is the former D-XXXX-6.
Procedure: D-XXXX-8 and -9 are instructed to wait one (1) minute before attacking D-XXXX-7. D-XXXX-7 is instructed to use XXXX-1 as a self-defense mechanism if necessary.
Results: D-XXXX-7 enters room in which D-XXXX-8 and -9 are already waiting. Each personnel stands and waits until one (1) minute has passed. At this point, D-XXXX-8 and -9 attack -7, who, in turn, uses XXXX-1 to attack the other two, turning them to ice. However, upon the conclusion of testing, D-XXXX-7 complained of a severe temperature drop, though no drop in temperature could be measured. Regardless, D-XXXX-7 was brought under quarantine. Within thirty (30) minutes, D-XXXX-7 had died of hypothermia, and their body became encased in ice identical to that which is formed through XXXX-1’s effect.
Analysis: XXXX-1 can be wielded by persons other than XXXX-3 with the same effects as if XXXX-3 were to wield it. It can also work on multiple assailants at once. It has also been noted that multiple tests in which a singular D-Class personnel wields XXXX-1 are to be discontinued.

Test E - May 25, 20██

Subject: XXXX-1 and -3, 4 D-Class personnel, designated D-XXXX-10 through -13, all armed with standard survival knives.
Procedure: D-XXXX-10 through -13 are instructed to wait one (1) minute before attacking XXXX-3. XXXX-3 is not informed prior to testing of the presence of multiple D-Class personnel.
Results: XXXX-3 enters the room and immediately begins to panic. It begins to make rapid and jerky eye movements, looking at each D-Class personnel. After one (1) minute has passed, all D-Class personnel begin to attack XXXX-3. Upon realization of the situation, XXXX-3 begins to [DATA EXPUNGED], before [DATA EXPUNGED]. Temperature readings within the room register as low as -50°C. Thirty (30) minutes pass before room is reopened, in which XXXX-3 sits in the middle, unharmed⁶, but in an unresponsive state.
Analysis: All testing including multiple attackers towards XXXX-3 are prohibited from this point on.

SCP-XXXX-1 is not to be given any form of electronic entertainment with a connection to the internet. Testing regarding SCP-XXXX-1 is only to take place between D-Class personnel and/or SCP-XXXX-1 with a minimum of two researchers and one security officer viewing testing through surveillance cameras. Tests including five or more D-Class personnel and SCP-XXXX-1 are prohibited under all circumstances. SCP-XXXX-2 is to be kept in a safe in Dr. Marshal’s office. SCP-XXXX-1 is only to come in contact with SCP-XXXX-2 for testing purposes.

Description: SCP-XXXX-1 is a teenage female, standing at approximately 1.6 meters tall, of European/Asian descent. SCP-XXXX-1 is a defense member of the █████████████████ all-girls ice hockey team based in ██████████, ██████████. It is described as a protective and justice-driven person by its teammates. It is confirmed to be the creator of SCP-XXXX-2. Researchers who have spoken with SCP-XXXX-1 have reported that it has a friendly and cheerful disposition, while also being surprisingly cooperative. If SCP-XXXX-1 is required to defend itself., it will attack the assailant using any method possible. While SCP-XXXX-1 will use any method of attacking available, it prefers to use SCP-XXXX-2. Weapons used by SCP-XXXX-1 for self defense will not cause physical damage to victims if anomalous effect is going to take place.
Upon contact with the assailant, SCP-XXXX-1’s eyes will appear to briefly change to a pale blue color before the assailant is knocked unconscious. If the victim is awoken within 1 minute⁷, they will be unable to move. After this time has passed, the victim will wake up if not previously woken up, before beginning to complain of an extreme temperature drop, even if none is recorded. Within 2 minutes⁸, the victim will begin to freeze, encasing them in a layer of ice between 15 and 20 cm thick. Tests show that the victim within the ice still shows regular vital signs, seemingly ignoring the below freezing temperatures. This ice layer, while not meltable, is breakable, but removing the victim from the ice leaves them in a permanent unresponsive state.
SCP-XXXX-2 is a knife created by SCP-XXXX-1, with a blade approximately 30 cm long, and a handle approximately 20 cm long. The blade is comprised of stainless steel with an etched design of snowflakes along the base. It has been confirmed by SCP-XXXX-1 that the blade is a detached and repurposed ice hockey skate blade of the brand ███. The handle of SCP-XXXX-2 is carved from oak wood, is painted a light blue color with black accents, bearing a similar pattern to the blade. While SCP-XXXX-2 is not required for SCP-XXXX-1’s effect to take place, its usage appears to speed up the spread of the effect. If used by SCP-XXXX-1 to induce its effect, no stab wound will be present upon contact with the assailant. If SCP-XXXX-2 is used as a cutting knife, it will cut through the material as expected.

SCP-XXXX was first brought to the Foundation’s attention on March ██, 20██ when police in █████████ Borough, ██████████ reported a case in which SCP-XXXX-1, wielding SCP-XXXX-2, attacked multiple people taunting and insulting it and a friend outside of ██████████████████ School. Security footage from the school shows SCP-XXXX-1 first using SCP-XXXX-2 to attack a person in front of it, before having SCP-XXXX-2 knocked out of its hand. Following this, SCP-XXXX-1 uses a combination of tree branches, an ice hockey stick, and its own fists to attack the remaining people. Interestingly, the first victim froze significantly quicker than the other █ victims. Local authorities were called as soon as the fight broke out, leading to law enforcement arriving as the final victim began freezing. A field agent embedded in the local law enforcement soon arrived on the scene where SCP-XXXX-1 and -2 remained, with SCP-XXXX-1 seemingly in a state of extreme distress. A nearby containment squad was called in, SCP-XXXX was contained, and the local area amnesticised. Any and all security footage of the area at the time was collected and deleted from local databases.

SCP-XXXX-1: Okay, well… My name is Victoria ██████, I was born July 27, ███ in Newark, New Jersey.
Interviewer: Thank you. Can you tell me if the recent incident at your school was the first instance of your anomaly occurring?
SCP-XXXX-1: Definitely. Even though I don’t remember things easily, I’d probably remember if something like that had happened before.
Interviewer: Was that the first time you have fought with those specific people?
SCP-XXXX-1: That’s a definite no.

Interviewer: Can you explain exactly why the fight started?
SCP-XXXX-1: I guess? I’ve never been too well liked at my school. I am well known, well, was well known, for sure, but I didn’t exactly get along with a lot of them. It was kind of a thing for me to get made fun of; both me and my friend. That day was just the breaking point for me. I couldn’t take it anymore and I fought back. I never thought something like that would happen.
Interviewer: Thank you. Now, can you explain where SCP-XXXX-2 comes from?
SCP-XXXX-1: Hm? Oh, you mean my knife? Well, a couple months ago, I broke one of my skate blades, and when I got them changed out, I kept the one that was intact. I ended up making the knife with it. It was a fun project, and definitely something unique for me to make. Is it possible I could get it back at some point?
Interviewer: Thank you for your cooperation. However, I apologize, as we will not be able to give it back to you permanently, for safety reasons.
SCP-XXXX-1: Oh… I understand. It was worth asking anyway.
Interviewer: It’s alright. I do have to mention that we may have to perform tests with you. For the same reasons we cannot return SCP-XXXX-2.
SCP-XXXX-1: Nods head, but no verbal response.
Interviewer: I apologise, but we are out of time. The guard waiting outside of the room will escort you back to your cell.

Closing Statement: SCP-XXXX-1 appears to be emotionally connected to SCP-XXXX-2. However, its understanding of our inability to permanently return SCP-XXXX-2 to it demonstrates its cooperation, as well as its clear answers to questions asked. While the origin of SCP-XXXX-2 is determined, the origin of SCP-XXXX-1’s ability is still undetermined.

Test A - March 16, 20██

Subject: SCP-XXXX-2. Two D-Class personnel, D-54726 and D-54781. D-54726 is armed with SCP-XXXX-2, while D-54781 is armed with a standard survival knife.

Procedure: D-54781 is instructed to wait one minute before attacking D-54726 with supplied survival knife. D-54726 is not informed of D-54781’s presence in the room.

Results: D-54726 enters testing room, where D-54781 is already standing. After one minute has passed, D-54781 swings at D-54726, who retaliates by swinging at the right arm of D-54781. Upon contact, no anomalous effects take place, leaving a slash wound on D-54781. Security officer enters room to prevent further injury to either D-Class personnel.

Analysis: Testing concludes that SCP-XXXX-2 is not the source of SCP-XXXX-1’s anomalous effect. Therefore, testing SCP-XXXX-1’s effect requires it to be present.

Test B - March 20, 20██

Subject: SCP-XXXX-1 and -2. One sheet of printer paper, one piece of corrugated cardboard, one 2 mm diameter plastic pipe, one 20 mm thick sheet of stainless steel.

Procedure: SCP-XXXX-1 is asked to attempt to cut multiple objects using SCP-XXXX-2.

Results: SCP-XXXX-2 cuts through the printer paper and corrugated cardboard without struggle. SCP-XXXX-2 cuts through the plastic pipe with high effort. SCP-XXXX-2 is unable to cut through the sheet of stainless steel.

Analysis: SCP-XXXX-2 appears to act as a regular knife if used for any purpose other than self defense while in the hands of SCP-XXXX-1.

Test C - March 29, 20██

Subject: SCP-XXXX-1, armed with SCP-XXXX-2. One D-Class personnel, designated D-54794, armed with a standard survival knife.

Procedure: D-54794 is instructed to wait one minute before slashing at SCP-XXXX-1, while avoiding making direct contact with it. SCP-XXXX-1 is not informed of the presence of D-54794 prior to testing.

Results: SCP-XXXX-1 enters testing room where D-54794 is already waiting. After one minute has passed, D-54794 slashes at SCP-XXXX-1’s left arm. SCP-XXXX-1 retaliates by jabbing SCP-XXXX-2 into D-54794’s abdomen. Upon contact, SCP-XXXX-1’s eyes appear to briefly turn to a pale blue color before D-54794 is knocked unconscious, with SCP-XXXX-2 leaving no physical marks on D-54794. After thirty seconds have passed, D-54794 regains consciousness before complaining of a severe temperature drop. After one minute, thirty seconds have passed, D-54794’s face contorts in pain before being progressively encased in ice.

Analysis: SCP-XXXX-2 does not act as a regular knife if used for self defense by SCP-XXXX-1. It also appears to not cause physical damage to victims if used for self defense by SCP-XXXX-1.

Test D - April 2, 20██

Subject: Previously frozen D-54794.

Procedure: Extraction of D-54794 from the layer of ice encasing them is attempted, first through melting then, if unsuccessful, through breaking.

Results: Attempts to melt the ice layer covering D-54794 proves unsuccessful. However, the ice breaks relatively normally, allowing D-54794 to be extracted. While vital signs of D-54794 read normal, D-54794 is unable to be woken up. D-54794 is pronounced brain-dead and subsequently terminated.
Analysis: The ice that forms as a result of SCP-XXXX-1’s effect is unmeltable, even at incredibly high temperatures. The ice is, in fact, breakable, but extraction leaves victims in a brain-dead state.

Test E - April 7, 20██

Subject: SCP-XXXX-1, unarmed. One D-Class personnel, designated D-55801, armed with a standard survival knife.

Procedure: D-55801 is instructed to wait one minute before slashing at SCP-XXXX-1, avoiding making direct contact with it. SCP-XXXX-1 is not informed of D-55801’s presence ahead of time.

Results: SCP-XXXX-1 enters the room, where D-55801 is already waiting. After one minute has passed, D-55801 slashes towards SCP-XXXX-1’s left hip. SCP-XXXX-1 throws a punch towards the breastbone of D-55801 in retaliation. SCP-XXXX-1’s eyes briefly change to a pale blue color before D-55801 is knocked unconscious. From this point on, previously observed effects of SCP-XXXX-1 commence, however, the period in which D-55801 is unconscious is increased to one minute, while the period prior to freezing after regaining consciousness is increased to two minutes.

Analysis: Testing confirms SCP-XXXX-2 is not required for SCP-XXXX-1’s effect to take place. However, usage of SCP-XXXX-2 decreases the time between first contact with the victim and the victim beginning to freeze by approximately one minute.

Test F - April 12, 20██

Subject: SCP-XXXX-1, armed with SCP-XXXX-2. Five D-Class personnel, each armed with standard survival knives.

Procedure: All five D-Class personnel are instructed to wait one minute before simultaneously slashing at SCP-XXXX-1, avoiding making direct contact with it. SCP-XXXX-1 is not informed of the presence of multiple D-Class personnel prior to testing.

Results: SCP-XXXX-1 enters the room where all five D-Class personnel are waiting. Upon entering the room, SCP-XXXX-1 appears to become extremely wary of the situation compared to prior tests, becoming increasingly jittery and uncomfortable as the minute passes. After one minute has passed, all five D-Class personnel simultaneously slash towards SCP-XXXX-1. Once SCP-XXXX-1 realizes the situation at hand, it drops SCP-XXXX-2 and collapses onto its knees, holding its head, whimpering, and seemingly panicking. All five D-Class personnel appear to be immobilized. SCP-XXXX-1 then emits a high-pitched scream and emits a wave of ice, instantly freezing all five D-Class personnel and covering the room in a layer of ice. Temperature readings within the testing room measure as low as -50°C. Two minutes are allowed to pass before room is reopened, in which SCP-XXXX-1 sits in the middle, unaffected by the subzero temperatures, but in a state of unconsciousness.

Analysis: All testing including five or more attackers towards SCP-XXXX-1 are prohibited from this point on. Allowing five or more assailants to attack SCP-XXXX-1 appears to put it under extreme stress, and instead of retaliating in an expected manner, it uses any energy it has at the time to freeze all assailants immediately. Testing is to be put on pause until SCP-XXXX-1 is fully recovered.
