Description: SCP-4000 is the process undergone at the point at which time truly began. SCP-4000 may be a day old. SCP-4000 may be Billions of years old. SCP-4000 may be older than that. The prevailing theory, the Big Bang, states that SCP-4000 occurred 13.8 billion years ago, and is a naturally occurring phenomena, with no anomalous properties besides being a catalyst to the creation of time. Outside theological belief, no theory has been studied and proved plausible to the same extent.

The Foundation's presiding Anomalous theory¹ suggests that SCP-4000 is a 'god-like' being, having intentionally created our realm. It should be noted that this theory is not inherently theological, see the Brain in a Vat theory². There is a considerable possibility that this being has fabricated all matter to appear older, having deceived sentient life that time existed before the actual SCP-4000 event through the creation of a common memory. The theoretical nature of SCP-4000 does not mean it's place on the list is unwarranted, as the possibility of an anomaly of this scale must not be ignored.
