Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept within a furnished room of at least sixteen (16) meters2. [[Gonna do more, idk what else rn]]

Description: SCP-XXXX is a king-sized mattress with dimensions of one and nine-tenths (1.9) meters by two (2) meters. SCP-XXXX makes itself every morning at 0600 hours [[should I use 6 AM, 6:00 instead?]] if disturbed throughout the day, but will delay this process if a living entity is within a five (5) meter radius of SCP-XXXX until the entity leaves this radius. If a living entity were to come within the five (5) meter radius while SCP-XXXX is making itself, it will immediately stop the process until it leaves. Tests show this process will not occur past 0700 hours under any circumstances.

[[ SOME BACKSTORY OF HOW IT GOT TO THE FOUNDATION ]]

SCP-XXXX has been described by personnel that have laid in it, without fail, as very comfortable and personnel that have laid in it state that they don't want to leave SCP-XXXX. If slept in between the times of 2100 hours and 0600 hours, SCP-XXXX causes the user to enter REM sleep within one (1) hour of fully entering a sleeping state and the user's blood pressure and heart rate increase to normal amounts of the user's average REM sleep levels creating the "perfect" sleep for a lucid dreamer. User's still experience normal alpha and theta brain wave production for approximately three (3) minutes of entering their sleeping state. User's will also still experience bursts of neural activity during stage 2 NREM sleep. However, when the user wakes up, they may still feel a lack of energy as the brain of the user seems to produce little to no delta waves, effectively skipping stages 3 and 4 of NREM sleep.

Usage of SCP-XXXX has shown to cause drowsiness and less productivity through the day. SCP-XXXX has also shown to slow down user's immune systems. Prolonged use has even caused a user to form a small tumor (see Test Log #3) in their brain, the underlying cause is thought to be due to a disruption of the sleep circadian rhythm from missing stages 3 and 4 of NREM sleep.

Test #1
Subject:
D-████, male, 35

Psychological evaluation of subject before:
D-████ is in bad psychological condition, suffering from dysthymia1.

Test:
D-████ was instructed to lay and sleep in SCP-XXXX during the times 1200 hours and 2000 hours.

Results:
D-████ did not experience the effects of SCP-XXXX, however reported being happy to "get a good sleep in a comfortable bed." D-████ was unwilling to leave SCP-XXXX after test completion, but left without use of force.

Psychological evaluation of subject after:
D-████ was relatively unchanged, apart from the reported happiness of sleeping in SCP-XXXX, later testing shows that he still suffers from dysthymia.
