Description: scp-????, also called Cloverdale Road, is a large, forgotten forested dirt path in Co Wicklow Ireland, believed to be an old road for carriages judging by the rotting wooden sign at the front of the path "cloverdale road". The discovery of this road was made in 1967 when 6 woodsmen disappeared, and a search party was sent, discovering the road. Since then it has sparked interest as a folktale about a small town engulfed in rain and never seen again, only becoming such due to the discovery of old records, indicating that an old mining town was set there in the early 1800's, the town disappearing with written documents that it became enshrouded in rain then became impossible to locate later on for search parties, despite the entire area mapped. SCP-????-1 appears as a long dirt road, with a thick tree line on each side, the leaves completely blocking out all sun except for small rays, the road cannot be found on the other end, and seems to only exist as an entrance. The deeper you go into the road the more mist and rain begins to accumulate until it's too thick and blocks all forms of communication or tracking. Previously thought to he impossible to communicate out, the SCP foundation figured out a rather crude way of communication, this is achieved by giving the wandering subject a flashlight with a durable 1000 ft cable attached to the flashlight, and placing said flashlight on the edge of where communication usually ceases, by this cable they can communicate through morse code. Past the point of no return there is constant never ending rain with a gravel like ground, there isn't any tree's or any big obstacles, seeming to only be a flat plane. The rain is too thick and you can only see ½ft in front of you. There is 6ft tall lanterns that light a path forward, being the only form of light that can pierce the thick rain, they are placed haphazardly apart from each other being anywhere from 50ft to 10ft. The lantern bases are made from a thick twisted wood and the lanterns themselves look like a translucent gourd that glow a bright deep yellow. This lantern lit path twist and turns and never stays completely straight. During some occasions large 5½f creatures can be seen walking along this path, they have a large hunchback like body completely covered up by cloth, shawls, blankets, etc. The only thing visible about them being their hands, which look similar to raven claws, they can be seen walking along the lit path and are not aggressive, completely ignoring the humans existence unless they need/want something, if they need/want something they'll walk up to you and take it off of you without asking, they then reach into their layers of clothing and pull out anywhere from 1-3 thick copper coins similar to casino chips, they give this to the person they got said item from and continue on their way. You can take items off of them similar to how they take them from you, if you do they follow you waiting for you to pay them with the same copper coins, they have been known to follow and wait for a person for weeks and even months at a time until they are given payment. If you look at one in its natural unprotected form, you are immediately put into a permanent coma, if you attack one it'll kill you via an unknown magic, to which they are said to be quite skilled and versatile in. They are speculated to be a form of ancient Celtic faerie since the learning of an old and dying folklore in a small village north of Cloverdale Road, being told this by an old 98 year old woman, the story goes like this "during the mining of Cloverdale, when the road was first made, they accidentally hit and killed the roots of an ancient tree (the old woman called it "the lamp tree", with the description of the nuts produced matching that of the lanterns), When they killed the tree they angered the local faerie, who cherished the tree, so to punish the town loose upon them rain, mist, and hell of unimaginable proportions, trapping the town, flooding the mines and killing off everyone through means of genocide, the faeries attacked the town, kelpie slaughted anyone who came near the water, and goblins ate the young. To restore the tree an ancient race of dryad called "aonar seachranach", or "lonely wanderers" begin a pilgrimage, carrying magic to our world from theirs to restore the tree, and bring magic back to the land". After hearing this the SCP foundation was sure of the identification of these creatures and sent in a team to let the others know of their new friend's identities. 5 months later the SCP foundation sent in a 50 man team, equipped with enough resources to last a year, different trinkets and instruments to give to the wanderers if they wanted something, over 10,000 miles of specialized micro cord attached to a bolted down flashlight, and sent them in to find the lost town.
