Item #: SCP-4932

Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4932 is to be kept within a level 2 clearance storage room within Area 12. It can be stored within a 2 x 2 x 2m wooden crate, as it will remain inactive unless accessed by living organisms.1
All instances of SCP-4932-1 are to be monitored by live video feed at least 2km away from Area 12's habitat. Changed in the environment or physical appearance of SCP-4932-1 instances are to be reported to Dr. Crimly and contained in Area 12.
Instances of SCP-4932-2 are to be held in a closed habitat within Area 12. Open-air access to the habitat is prevented by thick netting, as a precaution to keep airborne wildlife from consuming instances of SCP-4932-2 and SCP-4932-1. A multilayered perimeter is to be maintained by around 30 Level 2 researchers. A small handgun is to be kept on-site within the habitats perimeter in case of an unforeseen emergency.
In the case of unauthorized organisms consuming instances of SCP-4932-1, on-site researchers are to utilize any equipment required to neutralize fleeing intruders.
Description: A small basketball sized cornucopia comprised of treated cedar wood. Hollow inside, it is usually seen filled with a few fruits resembling the local fruits that grow in the area where it is harvesting.2 These fruits have been dubbed SCP-4932-1. SCP-4932 can never be seen empty, as its never been observed in its relocation3 state. Its a little over 1 meter by 1 meter in size, and about three quarters of 1 meter tall.
It's anomalous properties reveal themselves when a living organism senses the fruit within it's hollow interior. Upon biting into the fruits subjects will exclaim or express how delicious the food is. After this they will continue eating, until there is no food left within SCP-4932. In most all cases the subjects that consumed SCP-4932-1 felt extremely drowsy after a few hours. This drowsiness causes the subject to fall unconscious, and their internal vital organs to suddenly ██████████. At this point, the subject is designated SCP-4932-2.
Within the first stage of the transformation that SCP-4932-2 undergoes upon consuming SCP-4932-1 their flesh begins to slowly take on a brown color, becoming a solid shell of wood. Upon analysis of samples it was found to be Cedar wood. The subject is no longer alive at this point, after having died during the transformation to wood instead of flesh.
In the second stage of this transformation SCP-4932-2 begins to grow, becoming a tree within a few months. This sapling will grow if left alone and eventually become a huge tree resembling the shape of a Cedar. The tree will seasonally grow fruits of varying kinds that SCP-4932-2 had consumed before the first stage.
It has been noted that all instances of SCP-4932-1 produced by SCP-4932-2 produce the same effect as SCP-4932's original instances of SCP-4932-1.
Investigation into SCP-4932's origin or purpose has been inconclusive. Dr. Crimly is overseeing current experimentation on instances of SCP-4932-1 and SCP-4932-2. As of ██/██/████ Dr. Crimly has ordered all on-site personnel to incinerate "extra" instances of SCP-4932-2, which can be identified as any instances of SCP-4932-2 other than SCP-4932-2-A. See Addendum 1-032.
Recovery Log 199█: SCP-4932 was discovered by foundation agents in 199█ when locals reported apples, pears, and watermelons all growing on cedar trees in a grove. The first instances of SCP-4932-2 and SCP-4932-1 were all discovered in Wyoming, ██████. These instances were all burned upon discovery of their anomalous properties. Loss of personnel during containment was high.
After burning all instances agents discovered SCP-4932 in the ashes of the largest of the trees. It did not sustain any damage in the fire. Foundation agents attempted to transport the empty SCP by truck, however about one hour into the drive the SCP reportedly vanished.
It was shortly recovered by those same agents in a pumpkin patch about a half kilometer away. Using willpower alone, the agents managed to bring back the SCP with several instances of SCP-4932-1 resembling pumpkins inside.
Agents Joe ██████, Andy ████, and Cindy █████ have been promoted and were the first members of MTF Unit Charlie-14 "Thanks-givers".
Addendum 1-2███: After an attempted raid on Area 12 by several agents belonging to the Chaos Insurgency, Dr. Crimly has realized the destructive potential of SCP-4932, and has updated containment procedures to prevent a containment breach.
Chaos Insurgency agents retrieved two (2) instances of SCP-4932-1. MTF Unit Charlie-14, nicknamed "Thanks-givers" failed to track and retrieve the stolen instances. Further investigations are underway.
