"Fuckers, did you hear; there was a hit on site 405." one of the guards says to another as they walk the halls of the safe zone.
"I did, but how could they destroy everything? There wasn't even anything there it was just a low-value storage facility." the other replies; News of the attack spread like wildfire it wasn't uncommon for the foundation to be under attack by a group of interest the Insurgency and the Church being the two biggest thorns in their side. What made this attack different was the sheer massive destructive scale of it no one was left alive even the building was burnt to the ground.
"What do you think they were after?" guard one ponders, several people, standing and talking in the hall while others move from place to place to continue on with the deadly daily slog of a day in the foundation.
"I don't know but- Oh, good morning sir." the second guard greets their superior; a slightly older man than themselves mid-thirty with silver eyes and glasses.
"Hello boys; caught up in the gossip?" the blonde teases his gun slung across his back.
"Can't imagine anyone here that isn't." one of them admits shaking his head "Damn shame; there were some good people at that site."
"Agreed. Anyway, I was told to send you two on an early lunch, there's going to be a meeting at one in conference room A." the two excuse themselves heading back towards the mess hall when his phone goes off. "David."
"Hey, David buddy-pal-friend I need you to come to my office." the voice on the other end orders despite the sing-song nature of the call.
"Okay." is all the man got in response before he hung up, in the office the site director and several other guard shift leaders gather around a large monitor.
"Good, you're here come." the child-like woman motions to him "The recovery team was able to salvage some footage from the attack last night," she says playing it back on the monitor at twenty-four hundred hours one of the outside perimeter cameras show the largest part of the facility exploding the footage quickly cuts to inside several levels down in the Keter object zone a form bearly visible through the thick smoke.
