Description:
SCP-5742 is a collection of ice shards that vary in size, shape, and weight. Pieces range approximately 8 millimeters to 380 millimeters. Pieces of SCP-5742 react to external stimuli as if made of living tissue. Pieces of SCP-5742 include the shape of a human hand, approximately 7.8 inches from tip to wrist which bends and unbends the fingers at irregular intervals and an object the shape of a human eyeball, including surrounding muscle tissue and skin, which has been shown to blink and respond to light. Pieces of SCP-5742 are reported to taste similar to uncooked pork. All chemical analysis of SCP-5742 concludes that it is composed primarily of H20 with trace elements similar to that of the water in [Redacted], Sweden. When melted and refrozen, the ice no longer reacts to stimulus but retains the taste of meat.
SCP-5742 is believed to have formerly been in a humanoid shape, although cause of damage is unknown.
SCP-5742 was discovered in [REDACTED], Sweden when a guest at the ██████ Ice Hotel reported discovering a shattered ice sculpture in the snow. Staff reported the anomalous qualities of the sculpture to police. SCP-5742 was then taken into foundation custody.
