Item #: SCP-5212

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Any instance of SCP-5212 is to be kept in a 20m x 20m x 20m cell at all times. 24/7 surveillance is advised. A cleanup crew is needed once every month to clean the cell of feces. Interactions with SCP-5212 are prohibited, and must be kept strictly to testing. Subject is dormant, standing motionlessly for long periods of time, unless its “overgrowth” is triggered. Overgrowth can and should be interrupted using fire or pesticides.
All personnel must consult Dr. Cooper before interaction.

Description: SCP-5212 is a humanoid organism approximately two to three meters in height. Subject has pinkish skin and feint green veins can be seen throughout the body. Subjects abdomen/stomach area is large and bloated. It has no reproductive organs but multiple other organs, including three stomachs, one being almost twice times the size of the other two, and two large intestine. The head appears to resemble a large venus flytrap with pores and multiple quarter sized holes, presumably ear canals. Its mouth is lined with long sharp teeth that resemble the cilia of the venus flytrap. It can open wide enough to easily fit an average-sized human. Subjects saliva has a paralyzing agent, making escape harder for its prey. Unlike the venus flytrap plant, subject has a deep, large hole inside the mouth, which it uses to ingest food.
SCP-5212 does not move in its dormant state. The mouth can be seen opening or closing, but no further movement has been recorded when docile. Subject can hear, but does not respond to vocal interaction, it is uncertain whether or not it understands us. It has shown great distress when exposed to loud or high pitched noises. If any physical interaction is made with SCP-5212, it becomes agitated, levels of anger vary. When agitated, subject snaps its jaws, twitches, screeches and shakes violently. If SCP-5212 is greatly disturbed, damaged, shoved or attacked, it will enter its “overgrowth” state, where it can grow up to five times in size, and it becomes extremely hostile. Its veins start pulsing and glowing. It has proven highly resistant to most forms of damage, but vulnerable to fire, extreme cold and pesticides. Overgrowth can last anywhere up to three days before it shrinks back to its normal size and goes back into its dormant state. Overgrowth can be interrupted if proper countermeasures are taken.

Addendum: Due to the lack of any reproductive organs, scientists speculate that SCP-5212 can reproduce asexually. Its believed to release spores that spread seeds in the ground like a plant. No reproductive attempts have been seen or recorded, but multiple instances of SCP-5212 have been spotted.
