Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a 50 x 30 x 30cm tank, with 3mm deep gravel lining the floor. Personnel must fill the tank with chlorine gas on a bi-weekly basis to ensure that SCP-XXXX is sedated. In this state, it cannot attack any other living creature. Personnel are to additionally check the tank for any visible signs of damage, exterior and interior. This must be checked twice daily.
All personnel are forbidden from making contact with SCP-XXXX without direct approval from O5-13.

Description: SCP-XXXX appears to be a regular orange (from now on known as SCP-XXXX-A), of the C. sinensis variety. However, when peeled, the object will reveal a cluster of genetically modified bulldog ants (SCP-XXXX-B). These ants are hostile, and will produce an extremely venomous fluid when touched. Origin of the fluid is currently unknown the fluid is produced from just below the upper jaw, and below the abdomen.

The object was first recovered on █/██/████, from an abandoned laboratory in ██████, Italy. It was taken to Site 19 a week after it was found, and caused the deaths of ██ SCP staff, including Dr. █████. SCP-XXXX was also found with a brief guide on how to keep it from harming anyone/anything.

SCP-XXXX-B tends to spread out over its victims, and often penetrates vital organs such as the lungs, stomach, and heart. No noise is reported at the time. However, if SCP-XXXX-B enters through the victim's ears, screaming is heard. The screams are currently known to be the victim's imagination they are caused by SCP-XXXX's venom damaging the inner ears. The "screams" are the last sound that the victim hears.

SCP-XXXX-A is actually an artificial orange, which was designed to split into four quadrants when peeled. Three (3) experiments were conducted using SCP-XXXX, see Addendum XXXX-01.

SCP-XXXX was also observed to have some other anomalous properties, such as the ability to "clone itself" (not technically a clone, but a mirage that appears to be a clone), the ability to stick itself to surfaces, and the ability to withstand fire and water. Also see Addendum XXXX-01.

Addendum XXXX-01: See below.
Experiment 01: Conducted ██/██/████
SCP-XXXX was placed into a glass container. The container was cooled to -███°C, and SCP-XXXX was showing no signs of damage. SCP-XXXX-B was still alive after the experiment. SCP-XXXX-A appeared slightly frozen, however was fully recovered the next day.

Experiment 02: Conducted ██/██/████
SCP-XXXX was injected with three (3) cubic metres of chlorine gas. When examined, SCP-XXXX-B had consumed the gas and was fully sedated for approximately 12 hours. D-██████ then peeled open SCP-XXXX-A to find that SCP-XXXX-B had seemingly disappeared. It was actually hidden inside the segments of SCP-XXXX-A.

Experiment 03: Conducted ██/██/████
D-██████ was allowed to peel open SCP-XXXX-A and throw SCP-XXXX-B into a fire. When SCP-XXXX made contact with the fire, the amount of smoke greatly increased, and an unknown aroma was detected. SCP-XXXX-B had taken very little damage; only around 10 ants had been killed by the fire. SCP-XXXX-A had also only taken minor damage, but these were only aesthetic and did not damage the initial entity.
