Object Class: Euclid.

Special Containment Procedures:

Location: SCP-XXXX is to be isolated from all lifeforms by at least a 12 metre radius. Furthermore, SCP-XXXX is to be isolated from iron and all iron-based alloys by at least a 12 metre radius.

Containment: To neutralise SCP-XXXX's electromagnetic field, the object must be contained in a polyimide cylinder, neither exceeding 12cm in radius nor exceeding 12cm in height, filled with molten silver that has been charged with a direct current at precisely 20 amps and 120 volts. Molten silver must be replaced consistently by D-Class personnel to avoid cooling below 2180°C.

Experimenting: Tests on SCP-XXXX are only to be performed once the electromagnetic field has been neutralised, and can only be performed inside the specified isolation proximity between 12:30 and 02:00. Use of D-Class personnel advised when testing; Incident XXXX-3 has proven the irregularities in the object's behaviour patterns, resulting in random, spontaneous activations of SCP-XXXX.

Note - Any breach of these containment procedures has proved to create the risk of an anomalous activation of SCP-XXXX, potentially resulting in of loss of life (see Incident XXXX-2).

Description: - SCP-XXXX is a small brass pocket watch that is attached to a brass chain measuring approximately 24cm. SCP-XXXX is a fully functioning watch with an unknown power source, though tests indicate an independent supply of energy emanating from the object itself. It is not yet known whether this power supply is finite, though SCP-XXXX has been functioning uninterrupted since first discovered.

When its hands read exactly 2:49, regardless of AM or PM cycle, SCP-XXXX will enter into its active state. SCP-XXXX in its active state will begin to draw any lifeforms (herein referred to as SCP-XXXX-1), and iron-based alloys inside the specified isolation radius, towards it at a measured rate of 12cm/s. At this rate, it takes 2 minutes for SCP-XXXX-1 at full distance inside the specified isolation radius to be drawn into the epicentre.

Beginning at 2:49, and throughout the duration of 2 minutes, any SCP-XXXX-1 being drawn in will be in a state of bodily paralysis, except for the head and neck. SCP-XXXX-1 retains consciousness throughout the duration of SCP-XXXX's active state. Once SCP-XXXX-1a makes bodily contact with SCP-XXXX, SCP-XXXX will begin to separate flesh from SCP-XXXX-1a. This has been shown through experiments with live rats to be done with consistency. First, SCP-XXXX will tear the skin tissue from SCP-XXXX-1 through an invisible kinetic force akin to suction. Upon completion, SCP-XXXX will proceed to do the same action to other parts of the body in this order:
2: Tendons
3: Muscle Tissue
4: Organs.

Upon completion of this action on all SCP-XXXX-1 within radius, SCP-XXXX will cease its active state, until the next cycle. If no SCP-XXXX-1 are within radius at 2:49, SCP-XXXX will commence its active state and sustain this for 11 minutes until precisely 3:00. Any lifeforms entering the specified radius during its active state, regardless if entering after 2:49, will be subject to the aforementioned consequences.

The Strength of SCP-XXXX's pulling force is not yet known, though following Incident XXXX-3, it is known that this force is beyond the strength of any human being.

SCP-XXXX was first brought to the attention of Foundation personnel after Incident XXXX-1.

Incident XXXX-1

Interview of ret.RT-Alpha-149 by Dr. █████████-

Interviewer: [Dr. █████████]

Foreword: [149 taken to Site ██ for questioning, following Incident XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX was discovered by a young boy in ███████, an old quarry town. The boy was exploring a clocktower when he discovered SCP-XXXX. After considerable time, the boy's mother contacted local authorities when he had not come home. The authorities located the boy - and after seeing the state he was in, contacted the SCP Foundation. Recovery Team Alpha was dispatched to the scene.]

<Begin Log, [Commencing 03:52]>

[Footsteps can be heard, then the sound of a chair dragging. Shallow, panicked breathing is heard.]

Dr. █████████: [It's alright, take your time.]

[A pause of some ten seconds, the breathing slows, a sigh.]

Dr. █████████: [Now, ████, is it? Tell me what happened. Did you manage to recover the boy?]

149: [No. He - he ended up like the team … can still hear his mother howling as he-]

[A sigh.]

Dr. █████████: [Please, go on.]

149: [Well, he came … back, if you could still call it "him". God that poor woman; screamed worse than [REDACTED].]

Dr. █████████: [Be precise, if you would. What happened to the boy?]

149: [Just like what I told you before; what happened to the whole squad. You want the details? Fine. His hair was peeled back, like you used to see in those movies with the natives scalping people! His eyes, fuckin' messed up, all white.]

Dr. █████████: [You mean to say they had lost pigmentation?]

149: [If that's what you want to call it. His skin was all shredded; kid looked like he'd just been tossed in a meat grinder. God damn skin and tendons just hanging out, blood soaked what was left of his clothes so bad you'd have thought they were always red. Same goes for the rest of my team, all four of them.]

[A pause.]

149: [You know those were good men, we wer-]

Dr. █████████: [Yes, yes, their families have been notified. Now, did the object show any visual signs of being active at the time of these … occurrences?]

149: [What, you mean besides the looks on the faces of the poor fucks that were slowly getting sucked into it? No. But that thing, fuckin' watch … it was like it knew me. It whispered to me, ahh what was it? Uh - oh yeah, "Are you paying attention?", that's it. I don't know how I heard it over the screams of ████ and █████ but I just - I just did.]

[A pause of some 5 seconds.]

Dr █████████: [Alright, you can go now - unless there's anything else you want to tell me?]

149: [No - no … I just want to go home, I'm through with this shit.]

[Chairs rubbing against the floor, then footsteps are heard.]

Incident XXXX-2

Journal Log 48 of Dr █████████: Today whilst performing routine secure containment procedures on SCP-XXXX, a D-Class personnel attempted to replace cooling silver within the cylinder containing SCP-XXXX. The D-Class in question extracted the cooling silver, though they had become complacent in the performance of their duties. The D-Class forgot to secure the air lock on their extraction equipment to ensure the equilibrium of silver into the container. As such, before they could insert the heated silver, SCP-XXXX entered its active state. This was anomalous as the time at the point of activation was 07:27. This was the first rime SCP-XXXX has activated at this time; each activation before this incident (totalling 47 activations) had occurred at 2:49. Further study is needed to ensure this was just an anomalous event. As for the D-Class, they will need to be transferred to the mortuary.

Incident XXXX-3

Journal Log 01 of Dr ███: I have been assigned to this project following the unfortunate passing of Dr █████████. His research team explained to me that his death occurred in anomalous circumstances. All secure containment procedures had been followed. Dr █████████ was experimenting on SCP-XXXX within permitted times, though SCP-XXXX entered its active state regardless, at 13:44. Only his arm was within SCP-XXXX's effective radius at the time of activation. He was writing experiment notes on a clipboard at the time.

It is worth noting that only the arm inside of the effective radius was pulled towards SCP-XXXX, until the rest of his body entered the radius, at which point Dr █████████ entered a state of paralysis as noted in SCP-XXXX's description. Dr █████████'s research team were quick to realise what had happened; they described his frantic cries for help to me. Four of his research team that were outside of SCP-XXXX's effective radius rushed to Dr █████████ and tried to pull him out by grabbing hold of his free arm. Their combined strength proved wholly ineffective against the pulling force of SCP-XXXX.

Upon realising this, three of the researchers let go, fearing that they too would be sucked into the effective range. One persevered, though when her right index finger was caught within the radius, she panicked and ordered another researcher to amputate her arm with a nearby meat cleaver (one of the researchers had previously brought the cleaver as a joke "precaution" for this very situation), the other researcher obliged and hastily amputated the arm. The researcher was saved, though the same cannot be said for Dr █████████. The researchers told me that he was fully conscious and extremely distressed throughout the 2 minutes of being drawn in, and was still screaming until he died from blood loss shortly after his epidermal layer of skin had been completely removed from his body. As this is the second anomalous activation of SCP-XXXX, I am hereby advising that all future experiments on SCP-XXXX are conducted by D-Class personnel.
