Object Class: Euclid

Containment Procedures:

SCP-XXXX is to be contained inside of a whitewashed room that is at least 5 meters by 5 meters with a height that is comfortable to walk around. One wall of the room should have a double sided mirror attached to a viewing area along with a steel door mechanized lock connecting the observatory with the containment area.

Lights capable of producing 100,000 Lux are to be installed in the ceiling of the containment area. The lights should be illuminating the walls of the containment area and a 1 meter by 1 meter square of shadow should be left unilluminated by the lights, while also maintaining at least 2 meters of illuminated floor between the walls and the shadow.

At least one personnel of C-Class or higher must be observing the containment area at all times. In the event of SCP-XXXX manifesting itself, the personnel is to immediately contact Senior Researcher Dr. Patricia Hill and await further instructions.

During Protocol Shadow Grasp, a single D-Class personnel is to be sent into the containment area and approach the shadow located in the center of the containment area.

During Protocol Sacrificial Words, a willing volunteer of D-Class or higher is to enter the containment area with their back against the wall. In the event of the subject's shadow coming in contact with the shadow in the center of the room, an electrical failure, or an event causing any of the lights located in the containment area to go dark the mechanical lock on the door is to be engaged, prohibiting the subject from leaving the containment area until Protocol Plutonic Cleansing is completed.

In the event of a containment breach, Mobile Task Force Mu-13 "Ghost Busters" is to be deployed and initiate Operation Shadow Nymphs.

SCP-XXXX is a canine-like creature with dark fur and red eyes. It stands at 86cm at the shoulder with a physique similar to an Irish Wolfhound, save for the head and face which is more angular in shape.

SCP-XXXX is capable of inhabiting shadows without changing the size or shape of the shadow. It has been observed that the shadow that SCP-XXXX inhabits becomes measurably darker once SCP-XXXX enters the shadow, however not enough for the human eye to consistently determine. However, instances of SCP-XXXX-2 have reported the ability to determine what shadow SCP-XXXX is inhabiting via a floating blue flame that manifests floating above the shadow that SCP-XXXX is inhabiting.

This floating blue flame has been identified as SCP-XXXX-1.
