Item #: SCP-5702

Object Class: Neutralized

Special Containment Procedures: Object was contained in a 20x20 glass room. The brightest light ever made on Earth – one billion times brighter than the surface of the sun was shining on the room. Scientists at the University of ████████ developed the laser by firing an ultra high-intensity laser at electrons suspended in helium. Due to the outbreak of SCP-5702 on ██/█/19██, SCP-5702 was kept at an outpost in Nebraska, where 5 watchmen supervised at day and 20 watchmen at night.

The most recent host of SCP-5702, [REDACTED] voluntarily agreed to her death. Following the death of [REDACTED], SCP-5702 was captured and neutralized on ██/█/19██.
The corpse was brought into the glass room and incinerated. SCP-5702 did not attempt to escape even though based on our observations it could have.

At █:██ p.m., SCP-5702 was neutralized after 0.0002 minutes of surviving under the brightest light on the earth.

The remains of [REDACTED] were offered to her family.

Description: SCP-5702 was a fluid sentience that traversed through shadows. Based on our research, it could travel through shadows as long the shadows were connected. It is identifiable in shadows by SCP-5702-A. SCP-5702 requires a host at all times to live in its shadow. However, due to its secretion of SCP-5702-A, the host of SCP-5702 will be destroyed in due time. SCP-5702 is thought to have originated in a toxic waste dumping ground in the US. It quickly spread to a nearby village and claimed 2 lives before the current host at that point was cryogenically frozen and transported to the containment facility.

SCP-5702-A is a microdust that is thought to have been secreted by SCP-5702. It absorbs all light, causing it to be invisible to the human eye. It is an extremely dense substance and naturally gravitates to other particles. As a result of the constant movement of SCP-5702-A, it has a high temperature and is detectable by thermal scans. SCP-5702-A, when in contact with human skin, causes third-degree burns and is capable of burning through flesh.

Addendum: Following is an interview with the last host of SCP-5702.
