SuitedHound (SCP-XXXX) WIP

Item #: SCP-XXXX (Thinking 5198)

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained within 4m x 4m, air-tight containment chamber. The floor should be comprised of a metal grate with holes approximately 2.5 cm in diameter. Below the grate should be a fan fitted to the room's size, capable of quickly evacuating any gas within the room. Four semiconductors capable of detecting ███████ gas are to be placed in the four corners of the containment chamber and are to remain active at all times. If a semiconductor detects any gas, the fan is be activated immediately and all gas within the chamber should be evacuated; the fan should stay on for a minimum of 30 seconds. The containment chamber should be manually checked for damage and potential weak-points every 7 days.

SPC-XXXX should be plugged into an outlet that can be controlled outside of the chamber. The outlet should receive 0 watts of power at all times unless testing is needed, in which case only 5 watts of power are to be allocated to the outlet. No 9V battery is to be placed in SCP-XXXX at any time, with no exceptions.

Only personnel with level 4 clearance and higher are permitted to enter SCP-XXXX's chamber, whether to conduct tests or to perform weekly or special maintenance. Personnel are not permitted to interact with SCP-XXXX, unless absolutely necessary due to specific circumstances. In these cases, interaction must be confirmed by a member of the O5 council before any action can be taken.

Any personnel affected by SCP-XXXX will be known as SCP-XXXX-2, and are to be neutralized immediately. No attempts to talk to, cure or contain instances of SCP-XXXX-2 are to be attempted under any circumstances.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an unmarked, white air freshener similar in design to a Febreze PLUG model air freshener. SCP-XXXX is able to hold roughly 236 ml of liquid at any given time, and when active, SCP-XXXX disperses at a rate of roughly 0.93 ml per minute. SCP-XXXX runs in intervals of 30 minutes, and only works when power is active, whether from an outlet or battery; the on/off switch does not appear to function.

When active, SCP-XXXX dispenses a toxic and memetic gas known as ███████, which appears to only affect humans (further testing is required). When first inhaled, this gas fills the lungs, coating them in a currently unknown, liquid-like and adhesive substance. While this slightly inhibits breathing, it's not very noticeable. If given more time, the substance starts to soak into the bloodstream, being carried to different parts of the body.

If the substance enters the brain, it will cause a sudden and intense sense of euphoria, as well as negatively impairing judgment and motor skills. The substance, as well, appears to be memetic and will cause a person to start acting in unusual and dangerous ways. Someone who is affected by the gas will start commenting on the smell in a very positive way and start opening doors and windows in an attempt to spread the gas, wanting other people to experience the smell. This often leads to an ignorance of containment procedures, as well as leading to more casualties. People affected by SCP-XXXX have also been observed to talk to and encourage other personnel to smell the gas, usually in an incoherent and slurred manner. After about an hour on average, a person affected by the gas will tense up, before exhibiting signs of a seizure. There is currently no cure for the effect, and the person will die within a minute after the seizure starts.

SCP-XXXX appears to always dispense the same gas, regardless of what liquid the SCP is filled with. SCP-XXXX does require a liquid substance to be active, however, meaning that SCP-XXXX appears to convert the liquid into the gas via currently unknown means. More testing is needed before this can be answered, and it is currently forbidden to tinker with SCP-XXXX in any capacity.
