Special Containment Procedures: The object should be stored in a 7 meter by 7 meter square room at Site-71, and is to be placed on a small podium in the center of the room. This area is only accessible by anyone with or above Level-3 clearance.

Any researchers who wish to use an SCP-XXXX-1 or SCP-XXX-2 specimen in testing must submit a request to the head-researcher.1 When researchers retrieve either specimen, they must be accompanied by two or more armed guards with Class I Humanoid Restraints.

When the object is used in testing, any D-Class Personnel are to be injected with anesthetics and rendered unconscious before being placed into its area of effect. This is done to minimize distress and difficulty during the Stage A process. Any SCP-XXXX-1 specimens produced are to be placed in standard isolation chambers, and any SCP-XXXX-2 specimens produced are to be placed in former D-Class personnel cell block E-1, now reserved specifically for any SCP-XXXX-2 specimens.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a solid gold figurine, standing 14 centimeters tall and weighing 1.2 kilograms. It depicts two identical figures with traditionally demonic motifs. The figures are conjoined to form the appearance of a face. The object's anomalous properties can only occur while a human is within 5 meters of it. Obstructions such as walls do not stop the effects of SCP-XXXX if the obstructions are inside the range. When inside the object's range, a subject will undergo a two stage process. The first and second stages are labeled Stage A and Stage B respectively.

During Stage A, physical changes begin to occur on the mid-sagittal plane2 of the body. One half of the subject's body will be completely affected while the other will remain unchanged.3 Initially, the skin pigmentation of the affected area will slowly convert to a shade of dark red.4 Certain facial features will also be modified to match the figures of SCP-XXXX. Additional features will manifest, such as horns and fangs. The time required for Stage A to complete is approximately one hour. As long as the subject is not exposed to the object for longer than ten minutes, any alterations will revert. Any further exposure will render all biological alterations permanent until the subject enters Stage B. Once Stage A is complete, the affected side of the subject will bear a resemblance to the figures of SCP-XXXX.5

At this point, Stage B begins and the left and right halves of the subject start to separate from each other, and each side becomes two separate individuals. These individuals are labeled SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2. The SCP-XXXX-1 specimen will resemble the original host, while the SCP-XXXX-2 specimen will resemble the figures of SCP-XXXX.6 SCP-XXXX-1 specimens are identical in appearance to the original subject, but have a drastically different personality. After prolonged observation, some common traits of SCP-XXXX-1 specimens have been identified. The observed traits are as follows:

  • Antisocial behavior
  • Xenophobic tendencies
  • Predatory behavior
  • Self-Indulgent behavior
  • Homicidal tendencies
  • Suicidal behavior
  • Cannibalistic tendencies

While SCP-XXXX-2 specimens are physically different from the original subject, they will often display the same personality, with slight deviation. Many SCP-XXXX-2 specimens will show more restraint than their original host in impulsive actions. It has been observed that variations of SCP-XXXX-2 who have separated from a subject with more apparent violent tendencies before exposure to SCP-XXXX are often weaker than their SCP-XXXX-1 counterparts.

When SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 specimens are in the same room with other organisms, SCP-XXXX-1 specimens will often not act on their violent tendencies. In the cases they do, SCP-XXXX-2 specimens will actively inhibit the violent actions, either by fighting with the SCP-XXXX-1 specimen, or by attempting to evacuate any other subjects out of the area. They will also be apologetic, and vocalize distress when violent acts are committed by the SCP-XXXX-1 specimen. Currently there have been no instances of the SCP-XXXX-2 specimen causing harm to the SCP-XXXX-1 analogue intentionally to defend another organism See Addendum XXXX-3.

Addendum XXXX-1: Recovery Log

SCP-XXXX was found on September 21, 20██, at "█████ ████████," a local antique store in Springfield, ██. It was in the possession of the store's owner, ███ █████. Foundation agents in the area intercepted a call to the local authorities about gunfire that went off in the store. Agents Holland and Markus adopted the identities of two local police officers and proceeded to investigate. When they arrived at the location, they discovered a nude SCP-XXXX-1 variant7 of Mr. █████. It was in the process of [REDACTED] the deceased body of ██████ ███, a neighbor of the store's owner. Upon further investigation, a naked SCP-XXXX-2 entity was found deceased. The cause of death was a gunshot wound to the chest.

The SCP-XXX-1 entity was restrained and secured into a Foundation Van, along with the deceased bodies and SCP-XXXX. Any witnesses of the incident that weren't in Foundation employ were amnesticized, and both Mr. ███ and Mr. █████ were reported as dead. A cover story was provided, which stated that both men had killed each other in a gun fight that resulted from a disagreement. Security tapes of the incident were copied before being deleted from the store's computer, and false footage was put in place of the tapes to account for the missing time frame. The two cadavers,8 SCP-XXXX, and the SCP-XXXX-1 instance were brought to Site-71.

While traveling to Site-71, the effects of Stage A began to manifest on Agent █. Jenkins. Agent Jenkins had been brought with the containment team and was holding the container that SCP-XXXX had been placed in. He was exposed to the object past the regression point, and began showing extreme biological alterations. The subject was secured and the artifact was airlifted to prevent further possible contamination to other agents. Agent Jenkins is currently held in a standard humanoid containment unit to observe the effects of partial exposure to SCP-XXXX.

Addendum XXXX-3: A Notable SCP-XXXX-2 Specimen Incident

On January 4th, 20██, a test involving SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 specimens was conducted. A D-Class Personnel, D-XXXX-23, was introduced into the containment chamber. The SCP-XXXX-1 specimen approached D-XXXX-23, pounced on him, and then began to sexually assault him. The SCP-XXXX-2 specimen then engaged in multiple attempts to subdue its counterpart.

After multiple failures, the specimen proceeded to grab the SCP-XXXX-1 variant by its head and snap its neck. It has been determined this was a last-resort option to stop the SCP-XXXX-1 specimen from sexually assaulting D-XXXX-23. The act seemed to cause this SCP-XXXX-2 specimen considerable mental trauma, as it soon committed suicide in the same manner that it had killed its counterpart. D-XXXX-23 was recovered alive, though had to be treated for post-traumatic stress disorder in the following weeks.

Addendum XXXX-4: Study on Agent █. Jenkins

Agent Jenkins has been continuously monitored for several months after exposure to SCP-XXXX. For the purpose of this study, Agent Jenkins is now referred to as SCP-XXXX-Alpha. The subject often displays symptoms similar to that of Dissociative Identity Disorder, as well as Body Integrity Identity Disorder. SCP-XXXX-Alpha has a pattern of developing behaviors similar to that of an SCP-XXXX-1 instance, and then reverting to its original state of mind. Additionally, the subject will often attempt to escape from the containment unit. Guards and a doctor are on standby in case the subject accidentally harms itself while attempting escape, or if it attempts self-mutilation.

Below are recordings of notable incidents and interviews involving SCP-XXXX-Alpha:
