Special Containment Procedures: Effective as of late 2019, no Thermodynamic SCPs shall be utilized or attempted to be utilized in the containment of SCP-XXXX, in accordance with Document O52-XXXX-1. Additionally only staff of level 3 clearance or higher, who have Dr. Sunny Shiki's explicit written permission, may view this file. SCP-XXXX is currently contained by cancelling the signal via destructive interference. See Testing Log SCP-XXXX-T6 for the technical information on how this is achieved. SCP-ZZZZ is the collective designation for two machines, one in Site-XXXX and one in Site-ZZZZ that cancels the signal that was being given off by SCP-001 'When Day Breaks,' which is the SCP designation for the sun after [EXPUNGED], both of the facilities is to have 6 Liquid-Florine Thallium nuclear reactors and 6 staff specialized in the maintenance thereof each and 3 researchers of level 3 security clearance or higher, specialized in the maintenance of the SCP-ZZZZ instances. Should containment be breached for any reason, all other missions are paramount until SCP-XXXX can be recontained. Additionally, in times of extreme Solar Flare activity the frequency and wavelength of SCP-XXXX may fluctuate, causing partial containment breach, these occurrences should be monitored, for any risk of full containment breach.
Description: SCP-XXXX Is an anomalous, nearly unstoppable force, which was pushing all objects in the Observable Universe away from each other at a rate of 10000000000000 km/h. It was discovered in the USSR in 1960 after being brought to the attention of the Foundation by the USSR's Government. This energy differs from so called "Dark Energy" due to the fact that it emits an unknown, seemingly harmless form of Electromagnetic Radiation in the near-gamma band. (See Addendum SCP-XXXX-A1 for more information.) For testing procedures, see Test Logs SCP-XXXX-T1 through T5. Some information on SCP-XXXX has been found to be possibly Cognitohazardous and Infohazardous. (See Addendum SCP-XXXX-A1, and Test Logs SCP-XXXX-T1 and T2 for more information.)
Addendum SCP-XXXX-A1: In 1960 it was determined that in 10000 years time, an XK-Class end of the world scenario would unfold culminating in the 'heat death' of the Observable Universe and the loss of all human life, along with the planet itself, further tests show that it may be possible to contain SCP-XXXX using a complex containment system of other SCPs, see test logs SCP-XXXX-T1 through T5 for more information.
Test Log SCP-XXXX-T1: Testing Procedures: In 2019 SCP-2966 attached to a rocket, and sent flying into space, to see if it would use SCP-XXXX as energy in creating more toilet tissue. Due to the ensuing near-absolute zero conditions of the area around SCP-2966, site-117 was destroyed and all foundation personnel located at site-117 at the time of testing were killed, including the then current head over containing SCP-XXXX Dr. Sunny Shiki, was then made new project head tasked with balancing SCP-XXXX, Gravity, and Dark Energy, to prevent an XK-Class end of the world scenario in approximately 9940.25 years. All other tests utilizing any Thermodynamic SCP in the containment are hereby banned by the O5 Council upon the unanimous vote to ratify Document O5-XXXX-1.
Test Log SCP-XXXX-T2: In early 2025 Personnel: Dr Sunny Shiki at Site-ZZZZ and the crew and staff of the site, with Dr. Richard "Dick" Rodgers at Site-XXXX, along with the crew and staff of the site.
Testing Procedures: Upon buteforce enumeration out the average frequency and wavelength of the seemingly harmless radiation being given off by SCP-001 using a Foundation AI, the foundation then built Site-XXXX at the geomagnetic north pole where it is presently located in Canada, and one at the geomagnetic south pole, designated Site-ZZZZ. These locations were chosen for maximum efficacy of the Near-Gamma beam emitted from SCP-ZZZZ-1 and SCP-ZZZZ-2, as they only have to emit basic high frequency (near gamma frequencies) directional electron-pulses, as the earth's magnetic field provides the rest of the components.
Result: The Electron-Pulse generators are further described in the SCP-ZZZZ Article, but as long as the parabolic reflector dish rotates to consistently face the sun for 12 hours a day on either side of earth at opposite times of day, the containment of SCP-001's field (SCP-XXXX) will effectively prevent the observable universe from expanding. It is unknown what, if any, effect this has on SCP-001.
