Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid (Previously Safe)
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is, at the time of writing, currently uncontainable, though current research suggests that the majority of anomalous events that have been sighted by either Foundation personnel or civilians (which have been given various amnestics), have been originally climacting in the Midwest Region of the United States.

The only locations that have potential information about the events taken place during SCP-XXXX are particularly found along Michigan’s Great Lakes (specifically Lake Huron). Certain areas along these bodies of water have been assigned to MTF Alpha 9 “Last Hope” and multiple Foundation researchers for investigation. Should any incident occur, other Mobile Task Force units will be standing by for further action.

SCP-XXXX-1 is to be kept in a medium storage locker on Site-77, and is accessible to Foundation personnel with level 2 clearance or higher.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an ongoing phenomenon, being associated in places of high forest density (with the exception of a few urban areas) in which at certain times manifest an open hole, or more commonly described by SCP-XXXX’s research team, “The Gap”. This gap is relatively small, and is measured to be the width of a #2 standard wooden pencil. These manifestations are not completely random, however, as several locations have been designated as hotspots for SCP-XXXX.

It is concluded by research that SCP-XXXX has never led away from the ground level, and cannot be physically moved or dug into by physical means, as the surrounding soil of SCP-XXXX is impenetrable, and cannot be destroyed by any physical means or by technology. This effect dissipates when SCP-XXXX has moved to another location.

SCP-XXXX by itself does not currently pose a threat to life or the environment around it, but further research suggests that it posed a much more violent threat decades earlier. This was deemed as a plausible by SCP-XXXX-1, a 1989 Sony 8mm “Handycam” camcorder. SCP-4683-1 was retrieved by Foundation personnel on September 18th, 20██, at ██████ National Park, █████████ . It was originally found by residential park cleaners and handed over under professional means. The condition of SCP-XXXX-1 is seen to be visually damaged, with the front lens being unrepairable. However, before it's lens were damaged, there were several videos recorded and saved on the camcorder’s drive space, which can still be viewed.

The stored videos are dated from December 6th, 1989 to August 25th, 1993, and do not exhibit any notable anomalous properties or cognitohazards.

Discovery: SCP-XXXX was discovered during a containment breach of SCP-████, during which the entirety of the Northern Hemisphere was presumed to be overrun by anomalous occurrences, many of which were detectable or dangerous to civilians. A distress signal was intercepted by multiple Mobile Task Force units, in which the coordinates were pinpointed to the populated town of ███████, near Lake Erie, on of Michigan's "Great lakes".

Current Special Containment Procedures were introduced later on in the investigation process.

Addendum: As of 8/17/18, SCP-XXXX has been designated as Euclid. Further testing for SCP-4683’s anomalous effects have been postponed. Only Foundation Personnel with level 4 credentials have access to SCP-XXXX's testing procedures, once deemed harmless.
