SCP-5118

NOTICE FROM THE FOUNDATION RECORDS AND INFORMATION SECURITY ADMINISTRATION

To any personnel and/or staff member requesting to access the location of SCP-5118 must have written permission from the head of research as well as at minimum level 3 security and must be accompanied by a foundation research member specializing in the study of SCP-5118.

Item #: SCP-5118

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: There is no verified procedure to be taken in the containment of SCP-5118, however, due to the circumstances and problems that are caused by SCP-5118, a current "lock down" has taken place in an area of 275m x 325m. SCP-5118 lock down site must be heavily guarded at all times with only one (1) point of entry at the East wing of the site. A triple layered, steel, air-lock hermetically sealed room is required for disinfection to any personnel who have entered or exited SCP-5118 site.

All MTF units have been given approval by the O5 Council to terminate any of those whom attempt at tampering with SCP-5118 containment and any of its anomalous properties regardless of their importance to the foundation. The only exception is for those who specialize in the research of SCP-5118 in which a reviewal of all security tapes will take place by the head of administration and punishment will be determined.

THAT STILL IS NOT AN EXCUSE FOR THE TAMPERING OF SCP-5118

SCP-5118 has been deemed "unsuitable for internal research" and the reopening of its containment is still pending

Description: SCP-5118 as a whole is located on the island of Cardona, Puerto Rico. The first record of an anomalous event was on April 29, 20██ when Dr. Charles Anborough was on his way to site 59 noticed the sand on the island turned from pure, powdery white to an inky black colouration within an approximate time of 20 seconds. Dr.████ was immediately notified and arrived approximately three (3) hours later. Upon arrival, the sand had still had an inky black colouration. The results of experiment A-01 had shown that the sand had a thick, mucus-like consistency.

Several other anomalous events took place that ranged from sudden weather changes, unidentifiable objects found throughout the island, and multiple files of person(s) linked directly to the deceased. A data table of these anomalous events were recorded below

Date DATA Effects Notes
4/29/20██

Sand throughout the island changed colouration from white to black

All objects and/or persons were pulled into the sand without recovery The properties of the sand had compared to that of "quick sand"
5/17/20██

A small village appeared to the South of the island

No physical effects were recorded, however, some personnel felt light-headed upon the entrance of a structure and/or building. Village appeared to have no inhabitants. All buildings were constructed of decaying oak wood and dried out vines. All buildings were abandoned and vacant. Village disappeared within 24 hours. surveillance was not able to record what happened in that duration of time.
6/04/20██

Trees inhabiting the island began to produce an unidentifiable liquid when physical force (i.e. punching the wood, chopping with an axe) was brought amongst its bark. So far three (3) of these anomalous events have been recorded.

The liquid had corrosive attributes. All organic materials melted within 5 seconds of coming in contact with the liquid. This liquid is to not have any organic material come in contact with it. Liquid was able to burn through skin and into internal organs within 2 minutes upon physical contact during Test Z 5118-02. All research and examination of this liquid has been TERMINATED.
8/15/20██

Certain spots of the sand surrounding the edges of the island produced a slight luminescence. Below the spots were small oak boxes, closed by a padlock and keyhole. The key for these boxes has yet to be discovered, however, all locks appeared to be rusted and broken requiring no key to access.

No physical or mental effects resided from the opening of these boxes. It has been noted that the box itself glows at random times throughout the day. No pattern has been determined. The only item in the box(es) were a vanilla folder containing a variation of files paper clipped together inside. Each file that has been retrieved have been designated with one (1) letter followed by four (4) digits [i.e. A-1234]. No signature of the author is visible on the folder as well as the contents inside. All papers found within a folder contain a series of multiple persons identification, birth certificate, social security code, address and more personal information. As of right now, viewing the files has no effect on the observer, however, upon viewing other person(s) file has resulted in the disappearance of said person. All files discovered are to be turned into the head of research immediately.
11/22/20██

An inaudible voice can be heard whispering what appears to be [REDACTED] throughout the entirety of the island

There have been no identifiable physical effects. A select few researchers claimed to consistently hear the voice even after exiting the site [DATA EXPUNGED]

A recording from Test Z-5118-02 including Lieutenant █████ and Head of Research Dr. ███ has been approved by the O5 Council for access.

ExperimentZ-5118-02 Video Log Transcript

Date: 6/4/20██

Exploration Team: N/A

Subject: D-13874 exposed to 5118-L

Team Lead: Lieutenant █████

Head of Research: Dr. ███

[BEGIN LOG]

Lieutenant █████: Aight Doc, we got D-13874 ready. Was a real son of a bitch gettin' him here.

Dr. ███: Thank you. Has he been sterilized?

Lieutenant █████: Uh… oh you mean checked for any shit, right?

Dr. ███: *Sigh* yea sure.

Lieutenant █████: Yup. He should be good to go.

Dr. ███: Excellent.

D-13874 is brought to a tree gushing with the liquid.

Dr. ███: Alright *writes on notepad*. Test Z-5118-02 has been confirmed as green by the Administration. Date, 6/4/20██ which is a Wednesday at, around 13:00 p.m. and the experiment will begin now. Sir, please place your index finger, either one is fine, on SCP-5118-L.

With some resistance, D-13874 finally obliges with the command and makes physical contact with his right index finger against SCP-5118-L

Dr. ███: How does it feels?

D-13874: It actually is quite pleasant!

Dr. ███: *writes vigorously on his notepad*. Alright, now, please remove your finger from SCP-5118-L

D-13874 removes his finger from the liquid which reveals the raw appearance of his finger

Dr. ███: *Turns on tape recorded*. Physical contact with one finger on SCP-5118-L resulted in the dissolving of dead skin. *Writes on notepad*. Further testing will take place on June fifth. Thank you for cooperating D-13874.
