DAYS SINCE LAST ERUPTION

19

Testing procedures with Level 3 clearance are permitted until 6 days from now

Special Containment Procedures: - When not in use, SCP-6266 is to be kept in a 3.5 by 3.5 by 3.5 metre cell with reinforced titanium alloy walls at Site-17, numbered A281-6266. In A281-6266, SCP-6266 should be a kept in a 30 cm deep basin at a 1 metre high elevation in order to contain the molten lava during eruptions and testing procedures. Every 24 hours the containment chamber's cooling mechanisms should be checked for any possible errors to ensure SCP-6266 does not erupt prematurely. When moving SCP-6266 outside of A281-6266, ensure it is contained within a sealed thermos with an internal temperature between 20-30°C.

SCP-6266 24 hours before its expected eruption in the Site 17 Staff Room. Reasons for why this picture happened to be taken at the aforementioned location are currently undisclosed.

Testing of SCP-6266 requires Level 3 authorization. When in testing use, ensure that time elapsed since SCP-6266's most recent eruption has not exceeded 25 days, unless the testing procedures involves its eruption. Failures to meet these testing safety measures will be sanctioned appropriately. When testing is finished, SCP-6266 is to be returned back to A281-6266 in its basin.

Description: - SCP-6266 is an intact bowl that contains approximately 400 grams of rice, Thai-style volcano chicken and vegetables. SCP-6266 shows no chemical irregularities after analysis and is indistinguishable from an ordinary bowl of volcano chicken. However, the anomalous properties of SCP-6266 manifest approximately once every 26 days, where the contents of the rice bowl erupt and expel 1200°C lava. Neither the bowl nor the contents get damaged by the lava, nor undergo expected aging or decomposing. The location of this lava prior to eruption have not been accounted for, however it has been reported that SCP-6266 tends to become unusually hot a few hours before this event. Tests have also discovered that SCP-6266's so-called eruption cycles will lengthen if the temperature is anywhere below room temperature. If SCP-6266 is kept between 10-20°C, the eruption cycles are between 28-40 days. Temperatures below 10°C will resort in SCP-6266 going into dormancy, and requires to be put into room temperature conditions again to return the eruption cycles to normal.

If the contents of SCP-6266 are consumed, the subject will fall into a catatonic state for a period of twelve to eighteen hours. When the subject has woken up from this state they appear to have increased overall well-being and report feeling full of energy and euphoric. According to numerous interviews, SCP-6266 even tastes like regular Thai volcano chicken, with the exception of a hint of [REDACTED]. Four hours after SCP-6266 has been consumed, it will regain any contents that were lost while being consumed, and regained contents will appear in the bowl.

SCP-6266 was discovered on 28th August 2021, when it was seized by the Foundation from an illegally-operated restaurant in Thailand specializing "exotic versions" of Thai food. Other dishes on the menu included noodle soup made of human arteries and fried shrimp that, after an analysis, matched the DNA of SCP-███. Class A amnestics were administered to all known witnesses, and SCP-6266 was brought to Site-17 for testing and storage.
