Special Containment Procedures: Due to SCP-XXXX being heavily trafficked, containment procedures are to consist of the monitoring of Hume levels within SCP-XXXX's area of effect, determined to be a radius of 150 meters originating at the center of the intersection, as well as video surveillance of the parking lot of the nearby ██████ Supermarket. Fluctuations in Hume levels are to be investigated alongside surveillance footage; recovered vehicles are to be seized and the occupants administered Class-A amnestics along with an explanation that the vehicle has been detained due to severe manufacturing defects affecting street legality. Significant changes in Hume levels are to be addressed with aerial dispersion of Class-A amnestics encompassing both SCP-XXXX and an additional █ kilometers in all directions to account for moving traffic. Due to heavy use of amnestics associated with current containment, alternate methods involving permanent rerouting of traffic to avoid SCP-XXXX are currently being explored.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a four-way intersection located in ██████, Florida. The intersection is believed to contain the conscience of deceased individual Johnathan █████ who was killed in a drunk driving incident near the center of the anomaly in 2014. The anomaly presented by SCP-XXXX manifests when the driver of a motor vehicle within the area of effect is perceived by the entity to be in a mental or physical state incompatible with safe driving and/or driving in a manner determined by SCP-XXXX to break traffic laws.¹ Once detected, SCP-XXXX immobilizes and transports the offending vehicle to a small pocket dimension attempting to imitate the intersection and its immediate surroundings. The rate of the passage of time within the dimension is identical to the area from which the vehicle originated. How SCP-XXXX is able to manipulate reality is currently unknown, and has shown the ability to detain multiple vehicles in the same dimension [see Incident Log 1].

When detained, a document giving the reason for detainment is materialized on the dashboard of the vehicle. The driver must sign the form provided, and SCP-XXXX will proceed to release the vehicle into the parking lot of the ██████ Supermarket adjacent to the intersection. All materialized objects remain within the vehicle after release. The most commonly produced article by SCP-XXXX (referred to as Standard Document 1) consists of 3 pages detailing the infraction committed and an "Additional Commentary" box directed at the driver and/or occupants. Repeat infractions are far more varied in presentation and content, with no standard document materialized. Many detentions are believed to be arbitrary or motivated by personal preconceptions as well as hostility towards certain vehicle makes.²

Vehicle: 2011 Toyota Prius

Experiment: Attempt to go through the intersection at 10 miles over the speed limit. Green light. Recorded with interior dash cam and microphone.

Results: Subject and vehicle detained. D-19131 is presented with Standard Document 1, and instructed by Dr. Collins to read and sign. SCP-XXXX releases D-1913 and vehicle into ██████ Supermarket parking lot.

Infraction: Speeding.

Additional Commentary: The posted speed limit at the █████-█████ intersection is 45mph. Please obey all traffic laws to ensure a safe driving environment.

Test 5 - 6/07/15

Subject: D-8729 [Monitored by Dr. Martin]

Vehicle: 2006 Ford Taurus

Experiment: Attempt to go through the intersection at 50 miles over the speed limit. Green light. Recorded with interior dash cam and microphone.

Results: Subject and vehicle detained. Standard Document 1 is materialized, with the addition of a leash and dog treats.

Infraction: Reckless Driving.

Additional Commentary: You know better, you don't look like this was your first time driving. If you feel the urge to drive like a mainiac [sic] again then use this lease [sic] to walk yourself around like the bitch you are.

Test 6 - 6/14/15

Subject: D-2941 [Monitored by Dr. Harrison]

Vehicle: 2012 BMW 328i [Vehicle make/model which killed Johnathan █████]

Experiment: Subject is to proceed through intersection while obeying all traffic laws. Recorded with interior dash cam and microphone.

Results: Subject and vehicle detained. A note card is materialized on the dashboard along with a cessation in engine noise. Upon recovery, vehicle was found to contain 20 liters of fiberglass resin and written off.

Infraction: Broken car engine.

Additional Commentary: Looks like its totaled now, get yourself something that isn't [DATA EXPUNGED FOR BREVITY] and maybe a sticker that warns other drivers that you have a hard-on for being a nuisance.

Test 10 - 7/12/15

Subject: D-8729 [monitored by Dr. Harrison]

Vehicle: 2006 Ford Taurus

Experiment: Subject told to ignore red light and drive through intersection; traffic temporarily blocked to allow for safe testing. Recorded with interior dash cam and microphone. [Note: This would be D-8729's second infraction]

Results: Subject and vehicle pass through without anomaly manifesting. Lack of reaction from SCP-XXXX believed to be due to safety precautions undertaken by research staff to facilitate experiment.

Test 11 - 7/19/15

Subject: Dr. Harrison [Monitored by Dr. Martin]

Vehicle: 2014 Ford Mustang

Experiment: Attempt to communicate with SCP-XXXX. Recorded with interior dash cam, microphone, and two-way text-to-speech program.

Results: Dr. Collins was detained after driving 10mph over the posted speed limit; communication was successfully achieved through use of text-to-speech program installed in the vehicle center console. Standard Document 1 materialized as expected and Dr. Collins was released accordingly [see Interview Log 1].

Infraction: Speeding.

Additional Commentary: Tell my family I said I love them and I'm watching over them. With my camera eyes.

Dr. Harrison: Please confirm if your name is Johnathan.

SCP-XXXX: Yes, my name is Johnathan. How do you know my name?

Dr. Harrison: My name is Dr. Harrison. We became aware of you when you detained an employee of our organization. During our initial investigation, we looked through any incidents here that may have been a catalyst to this anomaly occurring and we believed you to be a possible source considering your involvement in the most recent car accident here. It was a bit of a shot in the dark when I said your name, honestly. My colleagues and I want to reach out to you, Johnathan, we'd like to learn about you and what you're doing.

SCP-XXXX: What is there to want to know about me? I didn't do anything wrong, Doc, I wasn't at fault for what happened.

Dr. Harrison: Relax, I just want to ask you some questions. <motions at surroundings> Do you have any idea of what led you to this?

SCP-XXXX: I last remember driving home from a get-together with family friends. It wasn't that late, my kids had school the next day and needed to go to bed, plus I was only driving a few miles. I'd done that drive a dozen times before so when I get slammed by some idiot running a red light it was pretty unexpected to say the least. I don't know what's going on but ever since then its like I'm stuck here. At first it was darkness but I could hear traffic, then at some point I regained my vision somewhat, like I'm staring at a screen in a dark room. I can't feel my body.

Dr. Harrison: What compels you to do what you do, Johnathan? From what we managed to learn, could it be a sense of guilt or remorse for what happened that night?

SCP-XXXX: That's a lot of assumptions you're making, pal. I don't feel guilty for anything, there's nothing to feel guilty about. I was following the law and going the speed limit. It's not like I was drunk, nobody can tell me I was drunk because I know my limit and I was competent enough to drive safely. It's clear to me that my purpose now is to make sure others drive safely and what happened to me never happens here again. I hate people that don't realize a car hurtling down the road can easily become a deadly weapon, and all it takes is the tiniest amount of carelessness or distraction.

Dr. Harrison: <pause> I apologize, I'm just trying to put myself in your shoes a little. I'm not trying to doubt you, but your account conflicts with the traffic accident report. It states that you ran a red light and collided with a vehicle making a left hand turn, killing you and-

SCP-XXXX: That's bullshit. I'm a stickler for the rules and the asshole in the Beemer was probably too busy stroking himself to the fact that he drove a mediocre polished turd on wheels to realize that it wasn't his turn to go. Do you know how easy it is to tell what kind of driver a person is by the car they have? Next time you get tailgated or cut off in traffic, I promise you that it'll be a [DATA EXPUNGED FOR BREVITY] and don't even get me started with the rednecks in lifted pickup trucks.

Dr Harrison: Your autopsy report states that you had a blood alcohol content of 0.33, Johnathan, you were intoxicated. I have a hard time believing you were the victim here.

SCP-XXXX: I just keep getting fucked over, don't I? Look, everything in that report was based off of what the police thought the impact looked like and they thought it looked like I ran a light and that it was my fault. There weren't any cameras they could've look at, there wasn't any dashcam footage, and they just listened to the guy that hit me because he was the only one that could talk. My wife and kids were probably too distraught to even think straight let alone argue against that manipulative fuck. For the record, that blood alcohol content is such a lie because I did not feel drunk at all. Like I told you, I was well within my limits and I felt fine. I think they might've accidentally added an extra 3.

Dr. Harrison: You are the reason for the cameras that now exist at the intersection, Johnathan.

SCP-XXXX: That's a good thing though, right? It helps prevent these things, or at least find out how an accident really happened so lying shitbags don't go and pass the blame off. I actually think they're what allows me to see again, too. I feel less lonely when I can at least see the people around here. Plus, there's nothing better than seeing my wife's car passing through and knowing I can guarantee her safety here. I'll have to be extra vigilant the day my kids start driving themselves, Jesus that'll be tough. Even now in this afterlife I'd do anything for them, even if they aren't aware of it.

Dr. Harrison: Well um, I think that'll be all for now. Thank you for your time, and we will likely keep in touch with you.

Note: Under absolutely NO circumstances are researchers to disclose the death of SCP-XXXX's immediate family. We have no idea how the entity will react to knowing that they were killed in the same collision that killed Johnathan █████ and it may jeopardize current containment. - Dr. Harrison

Foreword: Transcript begins immediately after subject and vehicle are transported to pocket dimension. Method used to provoke SCP-XXXX is speeding. D-9299 is a former bus driver familiar with the area that SCP-XXXX is located in.

D-9299: Testing, testing, can you hear me? Hey uhh, I think I'm in.

Dr. Harrison: Indeed. We got a visual on your disappearance from the intersection about 100 feet away from the lights, and your GPS signal went kaput. You should be somewhere that looks similar to where you just were.

D-9299: Yeah its pretty spot on. How long am I supposed to stay here for?

Dr. Harrison: The RV you're provided with is meant to be your "home base" for the time being, with enough food for a couple weeks. However, we don't expect you to be there for so long; the fuel required to keep your vehicle running is only enough for about 3 days. Just focus on your task.

D-9299: Okay, got it. What do you want me to do with the stuff that appeared? <Camera shows what appears to be Standard Document 1>

Dr. Harrison: Nothing, just ignore it until we need you to sign it since its your ticket out of there. Can you try to exit the RV for me? Walk to the front, for instance.

D-9299 turns off the engine and exits the vehicle. Traffic present at the time of D-9299's detainment is manifested within the pocket dimension, with the exception that no vehicles are moving.

D-9299: Should I get back inside? I don't know when the light'll turn green for me and I'm the first in line. It doesn't really seem that anybody is moving though, I don't see anybody walking around either.

Dr. Harrison: I don't think that traffic will be moving at all, so you're fine. Can you tell me how you feel right now? Regarding the temperature, air, so on.

D-9299: Nothing feels out of the ordinary, at least with the air and stuff. Though pause come to think of it, I can't hear anything. No birds, no running engines, I haven't felt a breeze either.

Dr. Harrison: Okay, can you look into the driver side window of the closest vehicle?

D-9299 walks towards a dilapidated sedan next to the RV

D-9299: Uhh, I can't really see anything in there. The windows are tinted dark as hell but I see a figure in there, I think. Hello? <D-9299 taps on glass>

Dr. Harrison: Can you open the door?

D-9299 pulls on door handle, which is locked. D-9299 tests other door handles, all of which are also locked.

D-9299: Hold on, I have an idea. I have this same car. This thing looks pretty trashed and the trunk is unlocked, there should be a tab here to fold the middle seat and get into the cabin.

D-9299 opens the trunk and manages to partially enter cabin; body camera is obscured.

D-9299: Hello? Hey man, can you-

D-9299 screams and stumbles out of the car; body camera shows what appears to be a figure slumped across the passenger seat.

Dr. Harrison: D-9299 is everything alright? If you believe to be in danger, return to the RV.

D-9299: N-no, I don't think that he's alive. It's like <pause> a mannequin? A super realistic one at that.
