Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be held in a standard containment chamber in Site-19, and is to be attended to and measured daily by one D-Class subject specifically designated for the task. (Currently D-3842)

The designated D-Class is to have a foundation maintained bank account assigned to them, with seventeen United States Dollars deposited into the account daily, with more or less money to be deposited on any given day based on the current state of SCP-XXXX and the value of the USD.

In the event of SCP-XXXX exceeding 75 liters, the standard procedures are to be suspended for a period of two days, after which they are to be resumed.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an anomalous living liquid. Close examination has revealed it to be made up of water, gold, silver, platinum, refined oil, and small amounts of other materials, all in liquid form. Despite what the chemical makeup would suggest, it maintains a temperature equal to the surrounding area, and has remained liquid at all tested temperatures.

If any amount of SCP-XXXX is separated from the main body, it will cease anomalous function.1 It manages to resist separation to enough of a degree, however, that this is not considered a viable strategy to maintain it at a stable volume.2

SCP-XXXX is capable of self-manipulation, including movement, and usually maintains itself in a dome shape. It appears to be aware of its surroundings through anomalous means, and can perceive anything within a range that is proportional to its volume, though its perception gets less accurate the farther away an object is.

When any part of SCP-XXXX is in contact with, or within a very short distance of, a human, any currency that can be considered theirs will disappear at a rate that is proportional to the size of SCP-XXXX. As the currency disappears, SCP-XXXX will increase in volume. As it gets larger, its anomalous properties become more potent. It can only affect one person at a time under normal conditions, though it has demonstrated a capability to affect multiple people at once at high volumes.3

As SCP-XXXX expends energy, its volume decreases. It is unknown exactly how far its volume can lower, and whether this is capable of neutralizing it or not.

Addendum-A: Recovery.

Following a series of unusual crime reports in the city of ██████ ███████, the foundation began an investigation on ██/██/20██. SCP-XXXX was soon discovered, as agents reported sightings of small liquid tendrils rising out of grates as people walked by. This was originally believed to be separate from the unusual crime reports, which had, at that point, been largely disregarded.

At the time, the properties of the anomaly were not fully understood. MTF-Pi-1 ("City Slickers") was mobilized to contain the anomaly.

After the events of the initial mission, MTF-Pi-1 was recovered alive. Their bodies were mostly unharmed, though they had asphyxiated to the point of unconsciousness. It was discovered by foundation accountants that all money belonging to the three that had participated in the mission had vanished. A connection was soon established to the anomaly, and the previously investigated crime reports. Further analysis revealed that several members of the research team were missing various sums of money as well. Compensation for losses is currently under review by human resources.

Foundation engineers began sealing off parts of the sewer, and the area SCP-XXXX was capable of moving within was reduced significantly. A drone was sent in to monitor the anomaly, and after six days, MTF-Pi-1 was sent in for a second attempt at containing it.

Afterwards, the anomaly was placed in a secure locker in Site-19. Two days later, it was moved into its current containment.
