Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Item SCP-XXXX is currently stored on a coffee table in the break room near SCP-294. It is to be overseen by one guard of security clearance of 1, escpecially at any lunch break, and anyone is free to use it for food purposes as long as its door is closed. Due to the events seen in Incident XXXX-A, item SCP-XXXX is upgraded to Euclid and is to be 500m under the ground and to be contained in a 5m x 5m x 5m stainless steel container, reinforced with several layers of lead and aluminium to contain radiation. It is to be monitored by lead-reinforced cameras at all times and no one below security clearance of 5 is allowed to enter.
Description: SCP-XXXX appears to be a microwave oven of 35 cm x 46 cm x 25 cm, weighing 28 kg (61,7 lb), it is made of steel and by means of x-rays technology it has been stated that the item does not have a magnetron, meaning that it does not use microwaves.
The visible main difference between SCP-XXXX and a common microwave are its 6 additional buttons which represent the changes of state (from top to bottom: CONDENSATION, EVAPORATION, DEPOSITION, MELTING, FREEZING, SUBLIMATION), but there is no IONIZATION or DEIONIZATION option. It is also possible to heat or cool an object by selecting a temperature on a keypad near its door.
Despite it is known that SCP-XXXX can cool down object, it is currently unknown how the item can absorb so much energy to do so and how it does not need any type of energy to work. SCP-XXXX in order to complete its command will eventually break the laws of physics.
Anytime the personnel uses the item, as the sign written on it says, its door must be closed until the end of any type of experiment.
Further tests involving liquids of SCP-294 are still to be approved.
Subject: A plate of lasagna.
Procedure: Researcher heats up the plate of lasagna at 190 °C (374 °F) for 17 minutes, the door is closed.
Results: No incident happens, the food is well-cooked and without any type of radiation.
Analysis: The item does not irradiate objects.
Subject: A block of aluminium, a block of lead and a block of bronze all of the same size (5cm x 5cm x 5cm).
Procedure: A D-class personnel heats up the blocks for 1 minute without selecting a temperature, the door is closed.
Results: No incident happens and the metals are heated up at the same temperature (38 °C/100.4 °F).
Analysis: Whenever the item heats up a metal, SCP-XXXX will not damage itself in the process.
Subject: A block of concrete (5cm x 5cm x 5cm).
Procedure: A D-class personnel heats up the block at 10,000 °C (18,032 °F) for 15 seconds, the door is closed.
Results: No incident happens and the block crumbles as expected.
Analysis: When the item heats up a material at extreme degrees, its sorroundings will remain intact.
Subject: An aluminium glass of water.
Procedure: Researcher cools down the subject at -54 °C (-65.2 °F) for 60 minutes, the door is closed.
Results: No incident happens and both the glass and the water are frozen.
Analysis: No analysis required.
Subject: An uncounted amount of methane.
Procedure: Researcher pumps methane in the item and selects the option CONDENSATION, the door is closed.
Results: The gas successfully becomes liquid.
Analysis: Gases remain into the item thanks to what is believed to be a currently unknown type of vacuum.
Subject: A glass of water.
Procedure: A D-class personnel puts a glass of water in the item and select the option EVAPORATION, the door is closed.
Results: No incident happens, both the glass and the water evaporate.
Analysis: [REDACTED]
Subject: An uncounted amount of water vapor.
Procedure: Researcher pumps water vapor in the item and selects the option DEPOSITION, the door is closed.
Results: No incident happens and the gas successfully turns into frost.
Analysis: The amount of time that the item needs to spend to complete an action involving a change of state is always 10 seconds.
Subject: A block of concrete (5cm x 5cm x 5cm).
Procedure: Researcher puts the block in the item and selects the option MELTING, the door is closed.
Results: No incident happens, SCP-XXXX violently trembles during the process and successfully turns the subject into liquid concrete.
Analysis: SCP-XXXX can change the physical structure of any type of complex material.
Addendum XXXX1: «This is really unbelievable». Dr. Rossi
Subject: An uncounted amount of mercury.
Procedure: Researcher puts the subject in the item and selects the option FREEZING, the door is closed.
Results: No incident happens, the element turns into solid mercury and remains in this state for 5 hours.
The item is made solid again and is then put in SCP-XXXX and the option MELTING is selected, the item becomes liquid again almost istantly.
Analysis: SCP-XXXX can change the physical structure of something it already changed.
Subject: A block of granite (5cm x 5cm x 5cm).
Procedure: Researcher puts the block in the item and selects the option SUBLIMATION, the door is closed.
Results: No incident happens, SCP-XXXX violently trembles during the process and the object turns into a sort of "gas-granite", instead of turning into a crystal.
Analysis: Studies of the gas are still ongoing.
As seen from the security cameras, during an average experiment, a D-class personnel is asked put a glass of liquid gallium in the item, selecting the option FREEZING. Therefore, the D-class personnel does not close the door, exposing him to radiation equal to [REDACTED] Gray, instantly melting him and freezing 2 km of the facility. The glass of gallium remains solid into the microwave for 5 hours before turning into liquid again.
Here is the interview of an Agent that participated in the rescue:
Interviewer: Dr. Klein
Interviewed: Agent Banks
Foreword: After 3 days from the incident, the interviewed is asked to answer questions about the event.
<BEGIN LOG>
Dr. Klein: Agent E. S. Banks, are you ready for the interview?
Agent Banks: Yeah, we may begin.
Dr. Klein: Fine, so, where were you at the time of the so called Incident XXXX-1-A?
Agent Banks: I was at Site-██, I was stopped by Lieutenant W. A. Smith who ordered me to go with my squad, MTF Rho-14, for an emergency at Site-██. He said something about an incident with a microwave. At that moment we thought he was referring to SCP-119 or SCP-1842 and it wouldn't have been quite a big deal, but when we arrived at Site-██, we saw Helheimr.
Dr. Klein: You mean, the Norse frozen Hell?
Agent Banks: Exactly. It was so cold that if you touched a wall, your hand would remain attached, and so did I (Agent Banks rises his hand and shows the severed palm to Dr. Klein), I paid with half of my hand.
Dr. Klein: Did anyone tell the squad what was Scp-XXXX about?
Agent Banks: Absolutely no one. They only told us to close a microwave at that ███████ site. At a moment it was so cold that an agent killed himself, it was -45 °C and we only had standard uniforms. It was the first time of my life I've seen such a bad organisation.
Dr. Klein: How many agents were killed in the process?
Agent Banks: Half of the squad was terminated.
Dr. Klein: How did you arrive at the objective?
Agent Banks: We made our way to the microwave by shooting at the floor in order to heat it, because our shoes were sticking to the floor. Once we arrived, we saw something absolutely frightening. (Agent Banks pauses for a moment) We saw a melted man that was completely frozen. Poor man.
Dr. Klein: Was he a D-class personnel?
Agent Banks: Yes, he was the one who started all.
Dr. Klein: Have you closed SCP-XXXX without any problems?
Agent Banks: Yes, and once we closed it, the temperature rose from -45 °C to -10 °C in less than 10 minutes. The glass of whatever was still there.
Dr. Klein: Then you proceeded to rescue the survivors?
Agent Banks: Yes, but we've been helped by 5 choppers, because of the enormous amount of causalties. 240 people, counting our agents, lost their lives, while 1423 reported mutations due to radiation and severe cold burns; some of them reported frostbites of fourth degrees.
Dr. Klein: Alright Agent Banks, I think we are done here, thank you for your time.
Agent Banks: One last thing doctor. (Agent Banks moves his head to the videocamera and points it) I hope the O5-Council will see this file and take position and destroy that thing, (The agent enters an agitated emotional state and yells at the camera) BECAUSE 240 PEOPLE SHOULDN'T HAVE DIED IN VAIN AND-

After the interview, two guards approach Agent E. S. Banks and administer to him a sedative.
AGENT BANKS' REQUEST IS DENIED BY THE O5-Council
As seen from the security cameras, during an average experiment, a D-2839 personnel is asked to cool a glass of water at -273,30 °C (0.15 °C below absolute zero), the door is closed. The microwave starts to tremble for 7 seconds and opens its door. A grey and viscous liquid flows out of SCP-XXXX and begins to take a humanoid form; this instance, hereby called SCP-XXXX-1, grabs the D-Class' arm to interrogate him. SCP-XXXX-1 has appeared at the facility in this occasion only. It is sapient, in fact is capable of speaking both Latin and English fluently and refers to himself as "Excelsis".
The log below is the dialog between SCP-XXXX-1 and the D-class personnel:
<BEGIN LOG>
SCP-XXXX-1: Qvi avdet tvrbare mei aeternam somnvm?
D-2839: (hyperventilates and enters into an agitated state) W-What are you? W-What's happening?
SCP-XXXX-1: Oh, so I'm in Britannia right now, guess I'll have to speak your primitive language. I'm Excelsis, the supreme power which controls this planet and its matter. What year are we in, my child?
D-2839: ████, why do you ask this?
SCP-XXXX-1: It's been almost 2000 years since my last awakening. You interrupted my slumber, why I ask.
D-2839: I-I was forced.
SCP-XXXX-1: By who?
D-2839: (The D-Class personnel raises his arm and points a finger at the control booth) by them.
SCP-XXXX-1: (SCP-XXXX-1 looks at the control booth) How dare you wake me up from my eternal sleep? (No response is given)
D-2839: I-I guess they can't hear you.
SCP-XXXX-1: That's alright. Why are you so frightened, my child. Is this the first time you see a "Factorem"?
D-2839: This is too much for me, I don't even know what a "Factorem" is.
SCP-XXXX-1: We are the ones who were chosen to rule amongst humans, we and the objects in which we are confined are eternal.
D-2839: You speak in English and you awakened 2000 years ago, how is that even possible?
SCP-XXXX-1: The first person who awakened me was Gaius Julius Caesar, but the last one was a man whose name was Percy Spencer. Thanks to him I learned English in 2 days and he told me that Julius Caesar, son of Gaius, was assassinated 3 years earlier and to return the favor, I taught him how to create a weaker version of the object in which I'm confined. Oh, I almost forgot, is the empire still solid?
D-2839: Do you mean the Roman Empire?
SCP-XXXX-1: Yes, my child.
D-2839: Oh, It fell in 479 and Percy Spencer lived in the 20th century. I think he lied to you.
SCP-XXXX-1 (SCP-XXXX-1 after hearing the information, quickly enters into an agitated state and begins to yell. During his monologue SCP-XXXX-1 turns solid and brutally mutilates the D-Class personnel) HE LIED TO ME. THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE. IT WAS A PERFECT STATE AND THEY RUINED IT. IT SHOULD HAVE LASTED MILLIONS OF YEARS. (SCP-XXXX-1 stops when the D-Class personnel shows no signs of life) Nvlla pax illis qvi perdere. (SCP-XXXX-1 heads back into SCP-XXXX and disappears with the glass of water).

Addendum XXXX2: «I-I…I don't understand. Everything went so fast. I don't want to be involved in any type of experiment with this SCP in the future». Dr. Rossi
