Item #: SCP-3507
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3507 is to remain in a cubic 2.5 meter cell, in a small bulletproof glass box. The box should be under motion based surveillance at a minimum of 1080 frames per second, to account for time shifts. Doors are to remain locked except at the request of Level Two researchers and above. Physical contact should not be made with SCP-3057 except in the event of testing.
Testing should be scheduled 30 7 days prior with requests sent to a Level Four researcher. During tests with Class-D, doors must remain locked to prevent escape attempts. Items, such as books, magazines, or small activities to prevent boredom may be contained in the cell to prevent aggression from test subjects, but are not required.
Description: SCP-3507 is a bright green shaded liquid hourglass, approximately 17 cm in height and 6 cm in diameter. Item was recovered on 6/13/1999 from ███████ Exporium. SCP-3507 has two main components other than its outside, both maintaining liquid state unless [REDACTED]. The primary liquid appears to have a chemical makeup similar to that of [REDACTED], is green, and likely the source of the anomalous event. The secondary liquid, making up approximately 60% of the interior, is distilled water. SCP-3507's hourglass takes 60 seconds to complete in the perception of an outside observer.
Upon physical contact with any ██████-scale determined sentient being, relative time for the subject (hereby referred to as SCP-3507-1 until exit) slows down to approximately 00.14% until SCP-3507 is turned over1and finishes. The act of the hourglass running out takes approximately 12 hours for 3507-1.
Typical human functions such as metabolism, water retention, and exhaustion2 appear slow to the observer, occurring at the rate of the outer world. Food and water are only necessary for longer term experiments. No major changes in health have been recorded from use.
Addendum as of 3/21/200█ by Level Four Dr. Avvette: SCP-3057 is not to be used for procrastination on reports or other projects, unless requesting use 30 days beforehand.
Addendum as of 3/24/200█ by Level Four Dr. Avvette: At the request of numerous researchers, the request period has been shortened to a week, seeing as tests are short in length and follow up testing may be needed.
Test 3507-56 - 08/30/2011
Subject: D-89326
Procedure: Subject was required to stay awake for 20 hours to test events of sleeping, and further instructed to sleep during use of SCP-3507, and upon awakening, jog for roughly 10 minutes (subject's time).
Results: After contact was made, subject slept on the floor for approximately 9 hours real world time (in perception of subject, this would be roughly 6480 hours, or 270 days). Upon waking up, subject ran laps around the room wall for a second before scientist activated return method.
Subject reported feeling "groggy, but well rested," after sleeping. Subject claimed to not experience any signs of exhaustion from running. Subject requested a way to return faster.
Analysis: SCP-3507 is not useful for rest. 3507 is useful for on foot travel, with exhaustion occurring much slower for the subject.
